Well I was craving some Mexican food and this place nailed it. I got the dos Chile Colorado burritos and man were they good. They came with hot delicious beans with rice. The place was getting crowded around 6pm on a Friday evening. The chunks of beef are so tender in the Chile Colorado burritos. It's so good and just melts in your mouth with the melted cheese on top of the burrito. I am glad I came here. My friends always get the Manandero Burrito and they love it. The thing is huge. Next time I go there I am going to get that one. The service was ok. When we first got there we did not know who our waitress was. Once she connected with us she did a great job. I made sure to tip her good too. Plus, you really do not have wait more than 10 mins to get your food after you order either. It comes out so hot on very hot plates too!! We showed up at around 2:30pm on a Sunday and the place was almost empty with one couple eating. The host was on the phone taking an order and we stood there for about three minutes. He then greeted us with menus and we sat down. He disappeared to the back to the kitchen then up again to the front desk to take more phone orders. He finally came back and we ordered our drinks and meals. He brought our guacamole and chips and the guacamole was fizzy ie fermented and off. When he came back after several long minutes we told him about the guacamole and he said OK and quickly walked back to the kitchen in the back. All of this went on for about 15 minutes. We got up and left. We never got our drinks or even a glass of water. Terrible service. We went to another Mexican restaurant in the center of town which gave us service with a smile and great food. Went to pick up dinner for my son on the way home and they said it would be $7.50 for a kids meal I called ahead, and when I went to pick up they said we need to charge you full price because you're not a kid which is $9.45. I said look at my phone this is a picture of my child who's eating this! Are you joking! horrible service for you to assume something like that to your customers. Have always liked La Sierra. The food is basic gringo TexMex, but it's always fresh, tasty and consistent. However, service has always been a plus. Prompt and courteous. We have found some better Hispanic food (Casa Lola, e.g.), but we like to support our local restaurants. Unfortunately, we returned to La Sierra a couple nights ago, and after receiving water and chips, we sat there for 10-15 minutes without seeing a server. So unusual and so unfortunate. I usually don't give bad reviews to restaurants. I figure people and businesses in the service industry have off days like anyone else. When I have MULTIPLE bad experiences on multiple different occasions I can't stay quiet. La Sierra in Forest Grove SUCKS! The last three times I've ordered out from this restaurant have been bad experiences. The first time the told me my food would be ready in 20 minutes, I waited over an hour after arriving at the restaurant. The second time I they told me it would be 20 minutes, I waited an hour after arriving and paying before I asked where my food was....... they didn't know, had no idea where my food was, then proceeded to treat me like I had messed up. When I finally got my food the person "handed" it to me like a bag of shit. The last time I only attempted to order they answered the phone with "Whatdoyouwant". No "La Sierra, how may I help you", nope, just a rude "whatdoyouwant". When I tried to place the order, they told me I had called the office....... I called the number listed on their FB page. After handing me off to someone else and me trying to order that person sounded very irritated and said "I don't have a menu in front of me" and then very rudely informed me they were out of what I wanted. I don't mind them being out of my choice but the least you can do is act like you give a shit that someone who is actively trying to spend money at your establishment, not act like I should know that you ran out of something on your menu. I'm done with this place. I'll go somewhere else where they actually treat people politely, not like I'm inconveniencing them. read more

We are from out of town just passing through n a roadtrip. We stopped in 20 mins to close to get take out and the staff was incredibly happy to serve us and went above and beyond. The shrimp enchiladas were only partially cooked and stuffed with mostly onions. The sangria was made from only orange juice and wine - no fruit, no ice. It was the most awful Mexican food I've ever had, and I'm not all that fussy. New cook? Using cheap ingredients now? I doubt that I'll ever go back again, which is too bad. Our family really enjoys this restaurant! I usually get the chicken fajitas or the beef burrito (with a margarita or a cold beer) and we always leave full and pleasantly happy. The serving sizes are great and gives us enough left overs for lunch the next day. The chips and salsa are a great bonus as well as the small dessert you get after your meal. Very nice staff, I ordered a taco salad. There was to much water on the lettuce should spin dry lettuce, to much water at the bottom of the taco shell. You know soggy wet. My wife had a tostada beef I noticed it had a lot of water also. I've should have said something, " but they didn't ask" so if you order the Taco or anything with salad have them spin the water off. Great service, my wife and I went to La Sierra for lunch expecting nothing more than a classic sit down Mexican restaurant and ordered a chimichanga, Supremo Burrito Deluxe, pina colada, and a Dos Equis. The chips they gave us tasted like they were homemade and they were delicious. The servers were quick to get our order and replenish our waters, the rice and beans that came on the side tasted amazing, and our orders came out very quickly. Everything was delicious. I've held back from leaving a review because I understand mistakes happen- however my husband and I have ordered delivery here 4 times in the last couple months and we order his burrito without beans on the side (he's allergic) and I kid you not- every single time it's delivered, there's beans!! We call back and they quickly bring another without beans. But what the hell? I purposely say multiple times when I place the order NO BEANS and it still comes with beans. Even worse- just tonight we had this same thing happen, they brought the "remade" burrito and they actually just scraped the beans off the burrito and plate.... There was still beans on it. The food wasn't very good and the service was even worse. We are new to the area and really exploring our new town and unfortunately, this wasn't the most welcoming place to go eat. I got the beef taco and I had no idea they offered shredded beef. When I asked about it the waiter was very unhappy with me and I was angry I had asked for something else.
