I went to La Sensi Nail & Spa in Twentynine Palms, CA to get a full work up for the christmas holiday. I got pedia cure, gel nails, facial waxing and individual eye lash extensions. For the most part the service was good. I paid $100 for a full set of individual eye lash extensions. I had to go back the very next day because I needed more eye lashes added they were looking too thin. I had to go back two weeks later because my individual lashes were looking skimpy and clumpy. A month later, I decided to try a new location. I went to Mojave Mamis in Yucca Valley, CA. Before they were able to start applying any lashes they had to first remove all the glue that were stuck in my eye lashes. Clumps of my own lashes were coming off with the individual lashes all glued together. It was a nightmare getting all that glue stuck in my lashes out. I highly do not recommend anyone to get their individual eye lash extensions done at La Sensi Nail & Spa. The operator need more training working with individual eye lash extensions. read more

This was the first nail salon I've tried in 29 Palms and I won't be going back. The atmosphere is not very inviting and they don't have any type of music or background noise at all. The man that did my gel manicure seemed very unsteady and it really showed in the quality of his work. He destroyed my cuticles, making one of them bleed. Good for pedicures, not sure about the rest. Recently visited and got classic mani/pedi with my daughter. Before I even got home, nails were already chipping, not smudging, chipping.....grrrr. I had one gentleman complete my manicure while another completed the pedicure. Pedicure technician won hands, and feet in this case, down. A lady came out from the back getting her eye lashes done and was NOT happy, another reason I'll settle for natural! Will continue to shop around. read more

I have been all over several states these last few years and every place I go I look to yelp to lead me to the best... I have yet to find a better eyebrow waxing place!!!!!! I was in Colorado all of last year longing to have a good eyebrow waxing but even through many yelp recommendations, I never was fully satisfied and kept feeling the urge to fly out here to have my eyebrows waxed... it's cheap and I always feel guilty about this so i tip really well I am back now, and so happy that once again I have nice eyebrows :)!! The woman was VERY nice and talkative during my time getting my nails done. However, I picked out a gel nail polish color and the number they had the coincided with the color I picked was the wrong color. It wasn't labeled properly. Once she finished, there were quite a few sharp edges and places where she got the polish on my skin. This didn't really bother me. What did was that my gel polish chipped off 5 days later, not even a full week when they are supposed to last 2 weeks. I was very unhappy I had to go get another $30 manicure. read more

love this place! Its very clean and the employees are nice, friendly and very helpful. I love their pedicures. You get to sit in these amazing chairs that massage you while you're getting your pedicure. They also have waxing and all other types of nail services (gel, acrylic, etc.). I have never had to make an appointment, but be sure that if you come on or around payday to make one, since it gets packed pretty fast. read more

I wanted so badly to leave a great review for La Sensi, as the owners are friendly, nice people and they offer wonderful prices. I have been a client at La Sensi for some time now and at first I really enjoyed their services, but they have unfortunately only gone "down hill" from there. The last four times I have made an appointment, I end up waiting 30 minutes to 1 hour despite my appointment I had made. The quality of their pedicures and manicures have also suffered with their new staff; Whether my toes/fingers end up bleeding, end up with a bad quality manicure/pedicure or my nail-polish ends up chipping off within 1 or 2 days of service, I have found that I am very displeased. I am now taking my service elsewhere. read more

If you need your eyebrows done, ask for Nancy. Upon moving out here, I thought id have to travel down the hill to get a decent job done but after my first experience with this magician, I was more than satisfied. She'll clean them up, leaving no strays, and keep your shape the way you like it. I also liked how she cut them down. It leaves a really nice clean look afterwards! Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the wait time is usually 20-30 minutes. And thats with no one in the wax room. But considering options are scarce, its worth the wait. read more

It's a hit or miss here unfortunately. The last two times I have gone they have cut my toenails too deep into the corner which caused an ingrown. I paid $40 and mainly went for the foot massage that they were supposed to offer because I work on my feet a lot, but she literally rubbed my legs with lotion for about 30 seconds then took it off with a warm towel and that's it. It sucks too because with being in the middle of nowhere, there's not many options. read more

Went in for a mani/pedi. Started out good. I believe Daniel was doing my pedicure and was doing a fantastic job.. When a few more customers came in Daniel had another gentleman, Duc, come to finish my pedicure and do my manicure. That's when things went down hill. He was literally dripping fingernail polish everywhere while painting my nails. He put it on way too thick. I'll probably go back, but I will not let the second guy do my nails. read more

My sister and I just went to get our eyebrows waxed, it was the best salon experience I've ever had. It seemed like all of the workers spoke english- that should be 5 stars by itself. The lady doing my eyebrows took her time and made mine perfect, they were very messed up because of previous experiences in San Diego. To top it off, it was only $10! I booked an appointment for a group of 10 two days in advance. I asked if they had enough operators to be available so no one would have to wait too long for service. When we arrived, there were a total of three people in the salon and one was doing a manicure. Half of us had to wait over an hour for our mani/pedis to even start. My operator was sullen and did a less than competent job - she cut me during my pedicure causing me to bleed, and gave me a very weak foot massage despite my repeated requests for a firmer massage. At the end, I was asked why there were only 8 people in our group rather than 10 (two had to cancel). Seeing as the salon could not even accommodate 8 people in a timely manner, I am not sure how they could accommodate 10. I will go elsewhere. read more

The place I usually go to the women was sick so I decided try la sensi biggest mistake first off she put glue on my skin that wouldn't come off and it peeled my actual skin off .. she put the eyelashes on and they were supper uncomfortable .. I asked her to fix and she said no..(I went in the next day since my eyes were swolllen so she could fix them) my real eyelashes fell out ! And they are just rude ... they over charge for nail length.. and my nails even broke 3days after getting them done ..there lazy and rude ! Don't go!! read more

Just went for a gel manicure and brows. The people were very nice, but the place was disgusting. I had a lot of issues with the cleanliness during my manicure too. At the end of my manicure the guy refilled and shaped my nails and I'm sure the gel won't last long now. Towards the end of everything I also noticed he had a very large wart on his hand. I understand it comes with the job but he should have been wearing gloves. The girl who did my brows did a phenomenal job, but the waxing room was filthy, did hangs the paper on the table and the towels had little lashes everywhere. Service wasn't that bad, but I'm not going back due to lack of cleanliness, and overall unsanitary practices. Update, two days later my nails are chipping and I definitely got a wart. The reviews on here brought me to La Sensi and let me say that they are even better than the amazing reviews ! I don't remember her name, but the lady who did my brows is a brow wizard ! I've been told by several estheticians that I can't have an arch in my brow because they simply don't grow that way, but this woman gave me the most beautiful / natural looking arch ! I may seem like I'm getting overly excited about eyebrows, but for any girl ( or guy ) who's had a bad wax, you can certainly appreciate a great one ! read more

I have been waxing for over 5 years now and this has to be the worse Brazilian wax ever. I arrived and had to wait for the lady to finish 3 other people even though I made an appointment. I waited because I really need to wax. It had been 4 weeks since I last waxed. They use very cheap and bad quality wax. I guess that wax works perfectly for brows but definitely not for pubic hair. It was difficult for the hair to come out. The glove was sticking to the wax, at one point the lady who waxed me, took of her glove and waxed me without gloves. She also asked me to pull my skin. At the end, she told me she had finished and asked me to look. I looked and saw so much hair left, but I was in so much pain that I decided to say thank you and leave. I will not be going back and do not recommend them for waxing. read more

I was warned not to go here but I was in a hurry and needed something close to base. I got a pedicure, gel manicure, and an eyebrow wax. The pedicure was average but my toe nails started chipping after a day. The manicure, the guy made my nail beds bleed three times..and one of them kept bleeding even after I left with no apology. The gel manicure by nights end looked like my nails had been in a fire as they had browned. I don't smoke nor was I around it, no cleaning, no chemicals...they just turned brown on the French tips. I had my eye brows waxed which I've had done lots of times before elsewhere and over 5 days later my skin where it was waxed was still bright red looking like a burn. There was no TV, no music. Just everyone sitting around staring at the ceiling. I had a terrible experience and I personally will not be back. read more

A friend of mine recommend this place to get my eyebrows waxed. I decided to try it out, she told me to go to the owner and no one else. I walked in and the owner said it would be a 15min wait for her.. I decided to stay. I ended up waiting 30-45mins. I told her that she was highly recommended by a good friend that I trusted then told her that I wanted to keep my eyebrows thick and just shape them a little bit. and she says okay. She worked really fast because she had clients waiting. After she said she was done, I get up and look at my face and my eyebrows look just like hers... thin.....! I told her.. they are wayyyyyy to thin.. and she said oh sorry, you don't have to pay and walked out back to her clients. worst pedicure I have ever received. she cut my foot three times (have no idea why I didn't leave the first time) and my pinkie toe still has problems and pain from where she cut the nail wrong. her daughter came out crying with a hair brush stuck in her hair and she stormed off, think she might have said the word sorry once. I think she took her anger and frustration about her daughter out on my feet. the prices were also higher than other places in town. I will never go back. read more

Just went to this place for the first time and I was crazy impressed. There were a few customers so I had to wait or a minute, but they went ahead and started my foot bath and let me soak. Ahn did my pedicure and it is perfect. Great leg massage as well. During my pedicure another nail tech became free so she came and started my gel manicure. She also did a fantastic job! One of my nails had a little piece sticking up and she re-did the nail 3 times until it was perfect. I then had her do my eyebrows. Also great! Great shape, no strays. If I could give them a zero I would. I went in and got a gel manicure. Two days later they were discolored and ugly. So I went in to get them redone. They offered to redo them which I appreciated however the same guy did them again and was clearly unhappy that he needed to redo them. As he was doing them I showed him where he was missing spots so he could fill it. He filled the spot then shoved my hand back at me to put under the uv light. I asked him to put a second coat on all my nails and he refused so I just asked for a refund. Then he shouted at me " you don't come back". The kicker is this guy has an expired cosmetology license. So I will be reporting them to the salon and him. Such a shame too because the woman who waxed my eyebrows did a great job. read more

HORRIBLE! ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! ... I wanted to try a different nail salon besides nails world because i read good reviews. i usually get a french acrylic with gel on top i usually pay 28$ max! for a full set and 13$ for a fill in + 5 for gel. i went with my friend because she also wanted a french manicure she ended up paying 28$ for her simple french manicure. It took us forever! to be seen when we did i told them exactly what i wanted i was seen by this asian girl who in my guess was a lesbian not to be mean ( she was dresses like a men w/ dress shoes and a guy hair cut) she was very rude from the start!. she put white and pink powder instead of just regular polish she had 2 fingers done when i notice how low the white line was middle of my finger they look horrible! i told her i didnt like that she got mad right away and said she couldnt fix it because she will have to take the whole nail off and redo it i said ok they look ugly and un even she didnt care and continue doing it. she became really ruff with me with the nail filler that she cut me 4x everyone could tell she was doing it to hard. and finish really fast at the end i just walked away i ended up paying 35$ my friend was shock it was that much!. Of course i didnt tip them and rudely was standing there waiting for her tip. i put a big fat X on the tip line and she stayed talking to the other lady that cash me out in their own language.
