Hmmm, as much as I wanted to really like this place, I found it underwhelming and disappointing, especially after enjoying the food at their Scarborough location. There's really no comparison. The food on the buffet was not very fresh, as I discovered too late. The flavours in some of the dishes was good but the fried or grilled dishes were kinda dry and some of the stewed dishes had been out too long without being stirred. You could see a distinct difference after stirring it up. The butter chicken was perhaps the best dish. Some of the meat dishes seemed to fare better than the veggie dishes. The salad bar was no better. Some of the containers were practically empty the entire time I was there, therefore I really didn't have much veggies. The best part of my meal was the hot naan, made to order. As far as the crowd goes, there was one large table of ladies when I arrived. They looked like they were celebrating something. Two families of four came in, and another large table of maybe 16 people came in but didn't stay. Hmmm, maybe they looked at the buffet tables. As far as service goes, I was pretty much left on my own. My first plate (empty) was still on the table when I finished eating. I was offered the naan halfway through my first plate. At the end, it became obvious that nobody was bringing a bill so I got up, paid, and left. That's too bad. Although it's been a while since I've been to their Scarborough location. the service and food are much better. And much cheaper too! At just over $21, including tax, this was not a good deal. read more

I tried this place for the first time with a group of 8 for a team dinner upon recommendation from a friend. As soon as we walked in, I noticed that the entire restaurant was a ghost town, there was absolutely no customers on a Monday night. I decided to try the Beef Seekh Kebab Plate, and I'm so glad I did! I also ordered it to be spicy. This dish came with two large kebabs, rice, a small salad and naan for $11.50 In our group of 8, about half of the people got a kebab dish, while the other ordered butter chicken. Every dish came with one naan which they served in baskets all together. Usually when you go to a South Asian restaurant, the food is ordered and served family style. In this case it wasn't, every entry was served to each individual. I was also able to try the butter chicken and the Reshami Kebab. The butter chicken was really tasty! Something I personally look for in a butter chicken is if the gravy is not sweet. A lot of restaurants serve it with a sweeter gravy, but thankfully this wasn't the case here. The Reshami Kebab was ground Chicken based with a strong flavour of coriander. It was good, but a tad bit dry, but that may be because chicken doesn't have as much fat in it to seal in the flavour Overall, I had a pretty good experience and I might come back for the Seekh Kebab because it's a good option for takeout if you're in the area. I wouldn't recommend dining in here, as the service is VERY slow and the restaurant is often empty. They also only have paper takeout menus for dine in, which they ask for back which was a bit strange to me. read more

Great food! Nice and spicy! But not too much! Just right! Had a craving for Indian food! Satisfied! Very reasonably priced too! My new hot spot! I love this food! read more

What made me happy: price 37$ for all including 2 diet cokes. The taste of the mint chutney was delish. Nann was beautiful What made me sad: no salad dressing, mint chutney served in shitty little plastic takeout containers though we ate in. No red wine. On a Friday albeit early the place was empty. Seriously just the two of us in a 75 seater. Salad iceberg with basics no dressing. Paneer something or other was spicy with 6 paneer Beef Khury 2 chunks but really super tender. But 2 chunks. Rice old oily and cumin seeds fell to the bottom. Paneer and Khury don't come with rice Kababs middles were tender ends dry AF. Looked like dog shit. *had to drown everything in mint sauce to survive the meal. But I liked it that way. read more

Looks nice, clean and fresh from outside but things changes as you enter... Men's washroom was a disaster. Huge disappointment. You'll see a lot of hand written notes all around. This does not work, use the other one. No Amex and etc... Misprinted menu, hand written notes on menus. Tables, Windows, glasses dirty. Stuff quite uninterested and untrained. Our table was tacky asked to have it cleaned. The waitress came with a wee cloths, cleaned just the corner and left it all wet. Don't see this place lasting long. Food was average. Nothing special. Looks more like frozen kebobs were just grilled. Quite a disappointment. Couldn't finish the plate. Left more than half, paid and than left read more

La Sani Grill - Big disappointment... - Pakistani Near Me - Ajax, Ontario

Horrible horrible horrible party of 5 went to dine this , we were greeted by a not so enthusiastic server , made us sit on a table that was not clean. Lamb chops came out with a long strand of hair and they refused to replace it initially but once pushed she took it back and brought out the same dish by removing the hair. once again we sent it back only to be replaced fully malai tikka chicken came out raw in the centre, when i mean raw it was medium rare done raw, which was gross . they will not take feedback and we will never return here again, no wonder their location was 90% empty read more

The interior of La Sani Grill is styled with today's youth in mind. A very clean interior with beautiful fish tank on the east wall and fireplace in the center. Very interesting selection of music being played however.... didn't really see the theme song from Tokyo Drift fitting in with a predominately South Asian cuisine... but after that one song, things returned to more traditional South Asian music. Well lit and the scents of the food filled the air... yes, I was hungry... No greeter at the front door so we were kinda confused when we walked it and eventually sat ourselves... the menus were literally their take out menus... for the interior decor, with just some small touches, this place could be so much better. The outside screams higher end family restaurant... but the presentation so far has been lacking but not by much. On the the food... for the price.. you can't go wrong. Large portions of rice which is light and fluffy, the meat is grilled extremely well. The roast chicken my wife had was still tender and juicy and had the perfect amount of flavour which is to say spiced but not overly spicy. The beef kebab I had was definately worth it and the Naan was still steaming hot when it landed on the table. Overall, good family restaurant and very flavorful food. Would definately recommend for the food. Atmosphere was good, the food was even better.. the service was spot on and I am leaving very happy and very full. Please be aware of the type of restaurant you are headed into, no alcohol is served here. read more

If you want good food, do not come here. If you want good service, do not come here. Ordered take out on my mom's birthday and was very dissappointed to find out that the portion sizes were kid's meal sizes (not sure about the eat in portions). We sampled a few of the dishes:chicken tikka tandoori, butter chicken, karahi paneer and beef nihari.... was not impressed. It lacked seasoning, heat and a wow factor. read more

The food was pretty good and tasty. We came in on Sunday and the dinner buffet was $14.99 with 3 non-veg curry (including 1 lamb, 2 chicken), 3 veg curry (including 2 kinds of paneer), 1 daal, 3 non-veg grilled appetizers, rice, naan, pani puri, fruit, salad & gulab jamun.... Quite a good selection of food with that price. The ambience was nice and quiet... However, they were understaffed and nobody came to pick up the used plates from our table. Will surely come back if we are around the area! read more

We have been meaning to come here for a while, so finally we made it for lunch. First off it usually isn't a good sign when every table in the place was empty and this is a big place. We were met by a less than enthusiastic staff who ushered us to a table. She deposited menus, didn't ask if we wanted drink, she just vanished for quite some time. When she did come back we ordered and again it took about 15 minutes for our food to arrive. That was crazy considering we were the only people there and it was during lunch hour "rush". When the food arrived it was a giant serving of rice, wilted "salad" and meat. I had the beef tikka boti which was dry and flavorless, not seasoned at all. My husband had the chicken tandoori which was supposed to be a half chicken but the size was more like a half pigeon and it was boney. The rice was tasty but that was it. The naan was fresh. The server took ages to come check on us. By that time we were ready to leave. She didn't tell us we needed to pay up front and she didn't bother to clear the dishes from our table. Eventually we figured out we needed to pay up front. Bottom line if you are looking for good Afghani or Pakistani food this is not the place. Right in the same plaza is an Afghani dining option that outshines La Sani in every aspect. Won't go back here again read more

No wonder the restaurant was nearly empty. 20 minutes after ordering still not even appetizers. When asked the server said they are coming. The cooks just stand there and talk to the servers. Zero stars and we don't even know if the food is edible... read more

Went to La Sani Grill for a Family get together, I was pleasantly surprised by the décor, food quality, and customer service. I had been to this place a while back and was not very impressed. The new management has turned this place around. The décor was modern and up to date . The food was fresh hot and very well made. Customer service was superb. I will definitely be visiting this place again and again. Also I would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to enjoy Pakistani cuisine in a very clean and pleasant atmosphere with great customer served. Bravo to the new owners. read more

They told me my food would take 20 min to make. It took them over 45 min while the restaurant barely had anyone in it and there were multiple chefs just trying to prepare their buffet which no one was going to eat. Poor service. The servers were filled with attitude and distracted on their cell phones. food was ok read more

Large location, but when we went on weekend lunch was deserted. Feels like the location was meant to be for another restaurant, with fish tanks unused and brick walls. Service was slow and generally uninterested in my group. Food was mediocre, large portion, but didn't finish. read more

Order the Karahi Chicken, witch was $11.00, witch was one serving wasn't good at all had a few mojor ingredients missing such as onion, red peppers. Worst chicken Karahi I've ever had. Will never going back. Very disappointed. read more

Its not what this place use to offer in regards to flavour. In comparison to scarborough location, this ajax location is a thumbs down. Stinkiest and filthy washrooms. Everytime I have been there, the washroom is a disaster. The staff is nice but the owner has cut down a lot in the menu and slightly increased the price. Not going back read more

Went in after having reservations. Jugs of water were filthy and water warm. Asked questions about their dishes. Appalled that if I wanted extra skewered of meat I have to pay the same as a full meal minus the rice and naan. When questioned what happened to the family platter was told we are only employees talk to the owner. Offered me the owners cell number. No onsite manager. Needless to say we walked out without bothering to continue this terrible experience. I can see why the place is empty. Terrible service god knows how the food would taste. I'd rate lower unfortunately no choice. Such a shitty experience and waste of gas travelling to this place with my family. read more

Giving this restaurant two stars strictly because of how much I like the atmosphere, decor, building ,etc. I was completely dissatisfied from the reshmi kabobs we ordered tasted like they were frozen.came because it was close in the area but don't think I will return. Naan was good but my butter chicken had weird unappealing smell. This restaurant has tremoundosly great potential due to its size, location ,etc. All they need is some solid good tasting food read more

I loved the original la sani (in Scarborough) so much that when this new location opened up I was so happy because this location would be more convenient. But I've given this location several chances and every time I come back I'm even more disappointed. Food doesn't taste fresh and is often served cold. It's so dead in here even on the weekends and I'm 100% positive they just heat up leftovers. The only upside to this place is that the restaurant looks nice. If you want better food you'll have to go down to the Scarborough location. read more

Went here last night for dinner and I must say the interior is quite exquisite! Lovely fake fireplace mounted in the stone wall, an extremely long fish tank along the left wall, and amazing seating. Ordered the skillet lamb chops, tandoori, and kebab. Also had some curry and palau, which was quite tasty. The naan was thin and crispy, which I liked a lot. The food was very good but nothing to drool over. At the end, we had a kulfi, which I remember from before tasted very good as well. I love their symbol, the flame. Reminds of the Fire Nation from my favorite tv show, Avatar: The Last Airbender! Anyway, would not mind coming here again, but the only idea I would suggest is serving bigger portions of food. I award this place 3 stars, which is not bad whatsoever. Good job, restaurant! You keep doing your thing and always improve! You should start with my suggestion as it will do you a great good. read more
