Once on land, we then drive north along the eastern coast into Qualicum Beach and our destination lodging, "At Nautica Tigh Bed and Breakfast". Nestled within a wooded area is a converted private residence offering three individual rooms; ours is the upper deck area complete with fireplace, an open plan area with queen bed, comfy quilted bed spread, downy pillows, a pull-out double sleeper, cozy sofa and TV area, country style eat-in table and chairs, kitchen area with fridge, micro-wave, toaster oven, and ALL the kitchen supplies you will ever need! Our fridge and counter top had already been stocked with tomorrow's breakfast to avoid disturbing us in the AM; fresh fruit, juice, coffee, tea, bagels, bread, spreads, hot and cold cereals, granola. A full bathroom offers a large shower stall and vanity with lots of room. Overall, our setting is similar to that of a cabin in the country with all the conveniences of home. Parking for our SUV was found in front of the steps leading up to our upper deck room and could not have been more convenient. As we get settled in, the sun can be seen setting on the horizon through the woods adjacent to our cottage; the Strait of Georgia can be seen clearly beyond the shore line. This is truly a beautiful yet rugged forested area just waiting to be explored! We soon meet Karen, our host and Owner. Karen greets us warmly and makes certain that all of our requests, if any, are accommodated. Pros: Everything Cons: None Tips: When in Qualicum Beach, plan on visiting nearby Coombs, Kitty Coleman Beach Park, Rathtrevor Beach, Milner Gardens & Woodland, and Old Country Market. Plan a day trip to Victoria, the capital as well as Sidney. Dining: Do not miss: Beach House Cafe: 2775 W. Island Hwy, Qualicum Beach; facing the Strait; best cocktails and food in the area only minutes from Nautica Tigh. Our initial impressions of the home, both inside and out, were impressive. It is immaculately clean and tidy, and the hosts' attention to detail is evident everywhere. Live plants, antique furniture, and original art immediately made an impression on us upon entering the welcoming and spacious foyer. A short flight of stairs took us up to the guests' common area. A small kitchen area with a coffee machine, microwave, mini fridge, and sink are available for guests to use at any time in an area that includes a sofa, fireplace, and dining table. Morning coffee or tea is served here by the gracious hosts, and a delicious breakfast complete with homemade preserves is included! Adjoining the common area are the two large suites. Our room, the Sunrise, was especially comfortable with an antique table and chairs, tasteful art, quality linens, and a large private balcony. A flat screen television and guest wifi are also included. The spotless ensuite bathroom, complete with a soaker tub and walk-in shower, was an added bonus, as was the mini-fridge with complimentary soda water. After settling into the king-sized bed for the night, we had, without a doubt, one of the most comfortable and restful sleeps we've ever experienced away from home! And Cornerstones' location is fantastic! The quaint town centre with its numerous restaurants, shops, and theatre, is only a few minutes' walk away, and the famous beachfront is a ten to fifteen minute walk. We'd return to Cornerstones without any hesitation. Highly recommended!

The owners Siggy & Detlef are incredibly friendly and welcoming, the type of host who are really happy to have you in their home. Being at this B&B feels like being at your favorite relative's home, very pleasant, very comfortable.

I have not stayed at this B&B, however, their attitude is terrible and I don't plan to book EVER!!…read more I had to cancel my booking (30 hours in advance) due to air quality. B.C. has a thick layer of smoke that is reported by the 'BC Air Quality Advisory' daily. Parksville and Qualicum are listed as one of the worst areas. I am asthmatic and can't chance breathing poor quality air. I called this morning.....the woman who answered couldn't speak good english, so she passed the phone to a male. He informed me that the cancellation policy was 7 days and I'd be charged a fee plus tax. At the time of booking I asked what the cancellation policy was.....he replied "oh, don't worry about that". He was rude and then hung up on me!!! I remained pleasant during our brief conversation, and feel that he was extremely rude. They might cook a good breakfast or provide clean beds, but they have a bad attitude.
