I never knew that such a terrible dining experience could occurring in the beautiful country of France. All of our yelp picks in Orange were closed so we took a chance on this tavern, the only place open. We ordered the menu du jour. I had a fatty but serviceable duck dish with a Dijon sauce. It came with a potato croquette that tasted like it had been frozen for a long time. My boyfriend ordered sausage a la ancienne. It was a long mushy sausage, and when we cut it open it had slimy pink and white things that looked like fingers and various organs. But the worst thing was the smell. The odor was like a dead thing, rotten and revolting. I tasted it and spat it out immediately. People were inside the kitchen with their little dogs and people were smoking in the kitchen. This place was definitely the worst meal I've had in France, quite possibly the world. I like weird foods. I'll eat brain in a heartbeat. But their sausage is a bizarre otherworldly concoction that may in fact have originated from the upside down in stranger things. I will say the salad was serviceable.It looks like a good place to grab a beer. But avoid eating here at all cost. You've been warned. read more
