To begin, I requested an estimate to add to our concrete wall in our back yard so that our dog would not be able to jump it. Dionicio provided me with a bid that beat out all of the other bids that I had received and he said his crew could start by Monday (I got the bid on a Friday). Not only did the crew show up at the exact time they promised but they were also professional and very kind and hard working! The job was finished within the 2 days that he had said it would take and the crew were efficient and especially clean!! They left my backyard looking better than it had when they started. This may have been a small job to some but it was 120 linear feet of block fencing with a new cap and it was very important to us to keep our dogs in and safe. We were so happy and impressed by the exceptional work that was done and we look forward to using them again when we are ready to put in sod! Deonicio La Roca was recommended by our builder and others. I got estimates from three other landscapers, although the job was somewhat undefined. La Roca was the most expensive, as I was warned, but also the most capable and experienced. I decided to pay for quality. Design phase: La Roca understood what I wanted and made good suggestions. Work timing: I paid the deposit and he started work within a few days. He finished on time about 8 weeks later. Quality: The work was done well. As in any complex job, there were a few things that needed adjustment--plant and lighting locations, low points in the sod--but these were handled. They worked some Saturdays to stay on schedule. Plants, sod, materials: all of the highest quality. Some plants got stepped on by other subcontractors. They were replaced right away. Communication: While the crew is largely Spanish speaking, there were more than enough English speakers for good communication. Deonicio replied to texts fairly quickly, almost never longer than one day. Flexibility: La Roca handled changes and upgrades, some mine, others suggested by him. I went over budget, but I knew I was doing it. I understand others have had problems. That was not my experience. I closely supervised the project and related well with the crew. I am very happy with the project. I have a showcase exterior to my home now. read more

La Roca is the type of landscaper that listens to clients, then does whatever he wants. First day on Donicio's order, Star nursery delivers 12 large rose bushes and three 20' palm trees, neither were requested, in fact we specifically ask for no rose bushes. Now eight years later our trees have matured and the roots have lifted our crubing and threading our patio and the concrete pad. The roots have taken over and we have had to remove them at our own expense. Inquired at Star about the placement of the trees and they informed me that the trees should not have been planted where they were under any circumstance. I located and spoke to a former employee of La Roca and he agreed with Star, the trees should have never been planted that close to block or patio concrete slabs. We have also had to remove 5 or 6 other plants that were planted to close together or just died. read more

If I could give a zero i would. I had LaRoca come out to give me a bid to put a decorative gravel in my front yard. There bid included a charge of $500 to do a separate weed spray. It was May and weeds were beginning to emerge. My husband was very ill, I felt pressure to get something done. So I opted to get weeds sprayed and hold off on the equally ridiculous pricing for landscape gravel. I decided to do the spray. Well, I was way over charged for a simply weed spray that took less than an hour with one guy and a backpack sprayer. Charged $500 There was no guarantee of work. This fall I paid another guy 11hrs worth of work to remove a trailer full of russian sage. I just found a much better weed spray service for $105 and they guarantee their work. So NO I would not recommend La Roca Landscaping. read more

I contacted Donicio and asked him to quote on revenge existing gravel,grass and concrete and plants from our backyard. The quote was fair and the work was performed very well. You will not find harder detailed oriented & efficient workers than the crew at La Roca Landscaping. They work long hours but keep the yard clean before leaving for the day. Dionicio is a perfectionist, a master landscaper and an artist in his work. When we moved into our new home in Hurricane, the backyard was a blank slate, nothing but red flat sand & a red cliff. We asked for a backyard oasis & that's exactly what we got. They are very busy so it may take a little longer to complete the project but Dionicio was always available to keep us posted on the progress & would come to our home if we decided on some changes. I read a comment that La Roca Landscaping is one of the more expensive landscaping companies but you get what you pay for and if you want good high quality work then I highly recommend this company. read more

Did not finish the job-broken blocks in wall, incomplete grout. Did not return to complete or repair. Charged us for a change order and did not do the work and claimed it was for other changes made (?) They ask for 75% of job up front but do not stick to the agreed upon (written) schedule or design. read more

LaRoca did the complete landscaping for my new home. Initially I was very pleased with the quality and overall appearance of their work. There was an initial problem that they resolved quickly. However, after being in the home now for about 15 months, the sandstone material they selected for the front yard is badly stained and falling apart due to winter rains. After talking to the owner (Delnecio) he indicated they do not in any way warranty that type of work and I'll just have to live with the inferior materials they selected. They came to build a block wall for us and the wall looks nice, but then it was like pulling teeth to get them to come clean up and level back out the dirt after they got their money. And the worst part, they turned off our water, never turned it back on so it was off for over a week and we didn't realize it, so now all of our plants and grass are yellow and dying. Of course no one returns our phone calls now that they got paid. I do not recommend this company at all!!! read more

Nothing but problems!! They said they would guarantee anything that died for 30 days. I lost almost every plant they put in. They did not install the drip lines correctly, and smashed the lines when putting down the rock on top. It took us 3 months for them to come back and fix the problem. Also when the installed the sprinklers, there was a large leak and so I got a big sink hole in my yard. HORRIBLE!!! read more

La Roca that has been maintaining my yard since 2013. After a recent text requesting they come a day earlier due to company arriving with toddlers, I found them at my doorstep just hours after making the request. That's when I decided I take the time to write a review. We built our first home in Dixie Springs in 2013 and they took a blank slate and created an Oasis for us. It included a water feature and lush landscaping. I had no idea our home is featured in 4 different photos and videos on their website! We sold that home and built in Redstone Springs in Hurricane as well just two+ years ago. La Roca has been maintaining our landscaping on both homes for 6 years now. Our current property is very large and lavishly landscaped and it requires a lot of trimming as well as mowing. They keep our yard looking beautiful. I also have never had a problem communicating with them and I only speak one language. They always have someone on site to answer questions for me. In addition to our landscaping they did our block walls on both homes and we have been very happy. They do superior work and they completed their contracted job in a timely manner. As with most companies things aren't "always" flawless but when I have contacted them with a concern they have responded quickly and worked with me for a resolve that was satisfactory to both of us. La Roca has been nothing but problems. It has been a constant battle to get them to come back and fix their mistakes and follow through on their promises. 1) First off, most of the workers don't speak English so I couldn't communicate with them about what needed to be fixed and the supervisor who speaks very little English never gets back to us. 2) The brand new sod they put down is already dying because they didn't put any soil, fertilizer or some type of growth medium underneath the sod before hand. They just throw it on top of hard packed desert and expect it to grow. 3) They also didn't tap down all the dirt when they installed the sprinklers, so a week later I had long stretches of lawn that sunk down. My lawn looked absolutely terrible. I had to get them to come out and rip out the sod in those areas, pack the dirt down and lay the sod down again and the lawn still isn't the same. 4) Some of the sprinklers were put in too low so the head of the sprinkler can't spray over the top of the grass which means some of the lawn doesn't get watered which means more dead lawn. 5) A quarter of the plants they planted died and La Roca is refusing to replace the plants unless I pay them because it's been slightly over 30 days, but we let them know about the dead plants 3 weeks after moving into our house. Bottom line, La Roca is a landscaping company that will give you a headache and cause more problems for you than if you just did it yourself and saved the money. I really wish I had chosen another landscaper... I regret going with them. read more
