Dirty with water damage on the third floor. Desk was confused at check-in even with a reservation it took 20 minutes to get checked in.

Jonesboro is a little city (or is it small? Just Google "little vs small" to join my quandary)…read more In any case, an HGI is a welcome sight in cities of any size as a predictably high quality brand. Clean, safe, nicely decorated, friendly staff, nice amenities. If you really need to stay in Jonesboro, AR, this is the place to stay. Within walking distance of a few local restaurants (be aware, Jonesboro is in a "dry" county, yes those still exist). HIghly and often recommended to my workmates and friends.

I have a few prefaces first. 1. My visit was in 2021 during Covid, so things weren't exactly…read morenormal. 2. I'm not a huge fan of this brand as it stands. I just don't love the business travel, everything is ala carte business model. All of that said, the place was mostly fine. Relatively newer, Keurig in the room, decent location. Now the weird/bad. Upon check in, the Front Desk agent seemed kinda of off. Whatever, after working and managing hotels in all shapes and sizes, it's a note and shrug of shoulders. I went to get provisions for my week long stay and when I came back, I overheard said FDA speaking to a 3rd party delivery driver and they were comparing notes/supporting each others new and ongoing state of sobriety. While I'm not knocking it, time and place is definitely a thing. It's also worth mentioning that I'm unsure I've ever seen so many billboards to cosmetic dentistry in one condensed area since Albuquerque. Onto the next issue. When I checked in, I was told that there was complimentary breakfast in the breakfast area, which is not the norm for this brand. Against my better judgement, I took their word for it. When I came down the next morning and inquired of said comp breakfast, I was directed to brown paper bags on a table. When I asked what was in it? A boiled egg, an apple and something else that didn't hold my attention for a split second. Again, I get it it was during Covid but so many GM's were trying to piecemeal together whatever they could to stay afloat, this was just pitiful.
