Several tables and probably seating for 10-30 with tables between 2 top and 8 top but not many. No Public Bathrooms. Be careful and don't get confused by "La Fiesta", which appears to just be standard Tex/Mex and has no grocery but is the first place you will see in strip mall. Keep going. This was my first trip and I only got carryouts. Enchiladas for my bride and tacos for me. All of it traveled well to Webster and was completely enjoyable. I got Asada and Tinga tacos and she had the Tinga enchilada plate. The enchiladas were served with a fluffy rice (no peas) and refried beans. The tacos were street style with onions and cilantro on corn tortillas with a lime wedge. It was all great. In my opinion, worth the drive. It is as far as you can go driving south on Lindbergh in a strip mall running perpendicular to Home Depot. Reasonable English was spoken and the proprietors were extremely friendly. It did take about 20 min for the order....Cheesy, hot, just enough crisp. The dipping sauce was perfect. The store is small and unassuming and very, very laid back. The food is only carry-out. I do plan to go back and try other things, but will probably stick with the birria tacos for a while. :)

As a college student, I spent some time in Mexico City and developed a real appreciation for Mexican diners and street foods. I am a snob about taquerias, tortas, salsa, beans, rice, queso fresco, etc. I have been disappointed by every "Mexican food" place in St. Louis, except Malintzi's. The staff are genuinely nice people and the chef, Martin, is a humble but gracious man... who also happens to make the best Mexican food in town. I did not want people to know about this place because I don't want it overrun by people who can't really appreciate it. But after reading the other review, I had to set the record straight. If you like St. Louis style food, don't go to Malintzi's; this is not for you--there are no hard shell tacos, chicken fajitas, or other American inventions (travesties). If you have a love of good (amazing, really), flavor-rich (sumptuous), perfectly cooked veggies (and cactus) and meat, real (glorious) Mexican cheese (NOT that yellow, shredded, melting plastic that is passed off as cheese in the US; and, thankfully, NO sour cream), ripe avocados and tomatoes, and fresh made salsa that will change your life forever, this is the place you've been searching for. The menu is in Spanish but you can order in English; the staff will be patient with you. The only folks who go there are Hispanic, mostly Spanish-speaking folks and a few non-Hispanics with an educated palate. Things you need to know: (1) this is primarily a grocery store so don't expect a restaurant ambiance, wi-fi, an extensive menu or any children's menu items, or even a restroom; (2) the food can be a little on the salty side so drink lots of water after you eat here; and (3) if the usual chef is out and a lady is cooking, order one taco (no need to be rude) and get a soda from the cooler (no soda fountain drinks here; get an horchata, tamarind or hibiscus punch, or a Mexican soda like Jarritos for your trouble) and come back another day when the Martin usual is in. (No offense intended for the ladies who step in when Martin takes a day off, but really the quality of the food drops off a cliff when he is out.) If you are new to real Mexican food, start simply: asada (chargrilled steak) tacos or asada on a torta; then try a torta or tacos al pastor (pork with adovado like spices, which is mildly spicy) and chicken adovado (a little more heat, more salt than the pork/al pastor). While you are there, get a Gansito and eat it after you let it sit in your freezer for a couple of hours or so.

The service is always outstanding, accepting custom orders with a smile. My wife and I regularly go there for our fix of amazing yet inexpensive Mexican food. We will usually place our order, then dash next door to the grocery, to stock up on tortillas, and other Hispanic food specialties that aren't available without going into the city.

It was a long drive for me. I had to use my GPS to find it and I cannot tell you how many Mexican restaurants I passed to get there. The parking lot was packed when I arrived, but lucky for me as I entered a booth was opening up and I was seated immediately. A visit to a Mexican restaurant is not complete without a Margarita. I just ordered a regular on the rocks with no salt. The salsa that came with the chips was delicious. I also couldn't resist adding, orders of cheese dip and guacamole, too. When I eat Mexican alone, I can double dip and I love that. Dipping in cheese dip and then salsa or guacamole is messy, but acceptable when dining alone. My entree was a, Chicken Quesadilla. It came with Refried Beans and Mexican Rice. It was only cut in half, so I had to cut again to get manageable pieces to eat. The tortilla was crispy, which I like and the stuffings made for a flavorful quesadilla. The service was attentive and friendly. As stated earlier, it was a drive for me and I'll tell you it is a drive I will make again. It was totally worth it.
