The complete side facing the ocean is open to the beach. You get the breeze, ocean surf and sea salt smell, and adequate sun. The restaurant is protected from the sun and elements. I could literally sit here all day, however I didn't notice any receptacles to plug in and charge. I also don't know if they have WiFi here. We stayed in a suite, which looked a bit more spacious in the photos, so that was a small disappointment.
