I can't find enough words to express how much we love Patricia and La Petite Ecole. As a former teacher and Early Childhood Education researcher, I was extremely happy to find a place that shares my beliefs about teaching and learning. My list could go on and on, but I will just mention the items I believe are the most important: first, Patricia offers a safe environment for the kids' physical and intellectual growth. Just walk in and you will realize that everything around the house has been thoughtfully displayed to stimulate our tots imagination and independency. From the wall decorations to the reading area and the kid's friendly kitchen, my son and his peers have pretty much the entire place for them to explore. Second, bilingualism is presented to the kids as part of their play routine. My son doesn't even notice that he's not using English or Portuguese (our second language at home), and he's constantly singing songs and naming objects around the house in French. His comprehension of the language is visible through his interactions with Maitrêsse (that's what the kids call Patricia) and even with his great-grandparents who are French speakers. Finally, the emotional support Patricia provides not only for the kids, but for us parents. She extensively works with us to make sure we get the best out from our kids, and as a first time mom, I am extremely grateful for her support and attention. Definitely, drop offs at school have never been an issue, but pick-ups are, since my son never wants to leave! :-) Thank you, Patricia, for your amazing work and dedication! I could not recommend a better Pre-School in our area than La Petite Ecole.

Super kids who love their school!

Updating my review now that I have two children in La Petite Ecole: My oldest has been in La Petite Ecole since she was a little younger than two, and my youngest, who was just a baby at the time of my previous review is now 2.5 and has been thriving at La Petite Ecole for the last six months. Having a 2 year old and a 4 year old in the same "class" has taught me a lot about the quality of the educator, Patricia. Mixed-aged classes are most successful when a teacher can adeptly differentiate the lesson plan and curriculum to respond to each individual child's needs. Patricia, who has been teaching preschool for approximately 15 years, is a master at differentiation. My two girls will have the same lesson, but my littlest will be working on basic shapes, colors and lines while my oldest is working on writing multiple words. My littlest will be working on language acquisition, and in the same lesson, thanks to masterful individualization, my oldest is working on sight reading/words. I worked in the field of early childhood via philanthropy for a few years. I toured preschools across the state of Colorado, from the South Front Range, through Denver metro, to the North Front Range, through the mountains, all the way across the Western Slope. What I learned in my visits is that the skill to be able to differentiate for a child's individual needs was the number one thing that center directors cited as important to classroom success and child outcomes -- and that differentiation was a hard skill to train a teacher on and required years of experience in the field. What I also learned is that early childhood educators are in high demand and have high turnover (due to low compensation and high burn-out), and that the average length of time a ECE teacher stays in the field is five years. Therefore, many times you don't get a teacher with the depth of knowledge and experience to be able to differentiate because they just haven't *had* enough experience--whether for a mixed-age or single-aged classroom (because different abilities arise at every age, even in a homogeneous age group). Patricia is a teacher who has committed to the field of early childhood and is a master at her work. How lucky I felt when I visited the preschools across the state to know that my children were in such a magical learning environment with a such a loving and truly talented teacher! Patricia is a gift to the early childhood community of Denver/Aurora and to Colorado. Of all the preschools I visited across the state, I still pick this one! I hope you do too.

When my son started going to La Petite Ecole he was 2 years old. We had been struggling at home with trying to teach him basic things like sitting at the table to eat with the family. We sent him to school knowing all the challenges Patricia would have with the "terrible 2's." In 2 months our son was completely changed, very well behaved, cute, and polite. This home-based preschool is not like a "jungle" where kids do whatever they want, it has rules, Patricia and "Papi" (the French word for grandpa), are firm and kind at the same time with the kids, teaching them respect and at the same time making sure they are comfortable and happy. I have noticed that Patricia encourages my son's development, intellectually, emotionally and physically. By age 2, he started to ride a balance bike and now rides a 16 inch bike with no training wheels! By age 3 he knew how to write all the letters of the alphabet and any word when someone spells it out (in English and French). Patricia also helped him with potty training, and at age 3 he knew how to count to 24 in French! So cute! Now my son is 4 and he is so happy, loved and appreciated at school and he loves to go to school. On weekends he asks for Patricia and his friends. The school is clean, has lots of toys and activities and they have a vegetable garden which I love (Patricia teaches them how to eat fresh vegetables from the garden)! Besides the delicious and healthy food that this amazing teacher cooks for them fresh daily (she has a French background - can you imagine how good the food tastes?) Patricia is very creative and I love the projects she gives to the kids!! You are going to love to see the work from your kids every Friday! Also, the kids help her with the daily tasks, which makes them very independent and helpful at home. She always accommodates and respects our personal beliefs in a very nice way. I highly recommend La Petite Ecole. This is my son's last year and we will miss the school so much (but will definitely stop by sometimes because the environment is so nice that we feel like part of the family).

Everyday he is provided a creative, fun, caring, delicious (meals prepared FOR him), loving bilingual learning environment.

We can't thank Patricia enough for the amazing and loving care she has provided our son during his years in kindergarten. He loves going to school and we couldn't have asked for a better first learning experience.

Field trip to the wildlife experience.

My ex-wife has used this 2 sentence "letter" that is signed "Jessica Beck 3/13/23" to create slander for a custody battle with my 5 year old son. I spoke with the director, Braxton, who stated that they have a policy in place and that they would never release a child to an impaired parent. This ridiculous, slanderous claim means my ex-wife was able to bully the owner into signing a bogus note and THAT speaks volumes about her character. If she did it to me, she can do it to you. The OWNER of this daycare has inserted herself into the custody issues of her clientele. This is beyond unethical and the owner of this daycare should be known as someone willing to interfere in her clients personal lives and in custody battles. She should not work at a daycare much less own one.

Angie (my mother-in-law) went and got brin yesterday from school, and IMMEDIATELY saw Brins eye, and asked her what happened. Then the teacher told her that a little girl and her had gotten into a little "disagreement", and hit her in the face with a sled... then Angie begins to ask the teacher if she put it in any kind of writing or incident report, or on her progress report,(which I'm supposed to receive daily), and the teacher says no. All while the superintendent is standing right there handing Angie all of Brinleys artwork she had done in class,(since it's her last day there), and doesn't say ANYTHING! So fast forward to me coming home from work and seeing my sweet little girls eye all cut up and swollen! So obviously I ask what happened, then Angie filled me in, so I go check her folder, which SHOULD have her progress report in it, and NOTHING! So I'm soooo mad at this point I'm calling the school, I don't care if it's after hours they can hear my frustration and complaint first thing in the morning, but NO! Their mailbox is FULL!!! And this is NOT the first incident at this place, where I had to call them and ask them about what happened! But I let that first one slide when I talked to them about it last time, since they were so good at convincing me that they file types of reports for this, and they were so shocked that no one had notified me, but then it happens again just 2 weeks later! She was there a total of 1 month, and we had 2 separate incidents happen like this. People need to know to not take their children here! They don't notify parents of anything that happens there, you literally have to pry it out of them. I'm so lucky that all my daughter has is a cut up eyebrow and swollen eye! Because that could have caused a serious head injury! Below I have sent a few pictures of my daughters eye and how it was this morning. I just really want people to be aware of these places who really make you feel safe, and how dangerous they are or can be! The Little Sunshine House 5305 W 98th Ave, Broomfield, CO 80020. Not all daycares participate in this program, however the ones that don't will most likely be twice as expensive.
