I believe the author Kurt Vonnegut coined this phrase, "In this world, you get what you pay for".
Such was definitely the case here last night at this beautiful hotel in Monopoli, Italy at their ever fantastic restaurant called Saleblu at the La Peschiera Hotel.
And yes Kurt, you were right as rain, as this dinner was expensive but worth every Euro!
The Saleblu was serving food that was so dignified and exalted, this chef de cuisine rivaled any Michelin Star chef in New York or Paris; that's just how elevated this young man was!
Least me not leave out the staff orchestrating this extravaganza, as they too were beyond professional, making this dinner a complete joy!
With seating (no more) 10 feet from the Adriatic Sea, and having its wave breaking at your feet just added so much piazza to this meal, it was the perfect backdrop.
We had:
* Starting with a host of appetizers that were nameless but all delicious
* Uni pasta with miso sauce and red prawns that was mind blowing
* Sea Bass Oven-baked fish with olives, cherry tomatoes, and potatoes
* Cuttlefish prepared in different textures with fermented lemon and chilled tomato
* And a bottle of local white wine that was scrumptious
* To end this wonderful meal was a palette cleansing Sorbet
Every morsel of food mentioned above was divine.
I'll leave you with the only picture I took (not of food) as taking pictures of this chef's creations would have been blasphemy! read more
