Located right in downtown near the plaza mayor you can find Panchi. The place is always packed but service is really amazing and I mean fast and always with a smile, you have Pintxos or rations, I always go for the filled mushrooms ration and the Pintxos I recommend are: cojonuda (quail egg with a strip of pepper and a slice of morcilla) Tigre (veggy and mussel meat ). There are plenty of wines to choose from and prices are good, it is not the cheapest but it's food is worth it. You can also have lunch or dinner but better make a reservation because rarely they will have a place.

However if you visit Burgos as I did please go to El Tressiago if you are in town. It is just off the square of the Catedral de Burgos, off the touristy square down a side street. We were treated in a very welcoming fashion given our limited Spanish and each dish and the pintxos were excellent. I had the pork knuckle and my companions had seared tuna. The presentation was beautiful and the flavors were fresh and wholesome. Go to this restaurant if you are in Burgos. You will not be disappointed and be pampered. I cannot wait to return when I have more time as the service was impeccable on top of the food being of excellent quality.
