We had a reservation for 4 people at 7:30 which we made about a month ago. When we arrived we were the first guests in the entire restaurant. The room has lovely views, so imagine our surprise when they seated us at the only table where the views were 100% obstructed by the Christmas tree! When we asked for another table, the manager, Simone Pinoli, told us every other table was 'reserved'. Having visited the same establishment a few summers ago when we stayed at the hotel during peak season, and made a last minute reservation, this seemed highly suspect. The restaurant was 100% empty save us and the staff and they would not accommodate us. We left and had a lovely dinner at the Michelin star restaurant at the Hassler hotel-- a much better choice. They saw us as stupid foreign tourists at Pergola and it left a very bad taste in our mouth.
