My husband and I shared: - Steak Quesadilla - Chicharron en Verde Burrito - Barbacoa Torta - Carnitas Taco Plate My favorite thing was definitely the burrito. I also enjoyed the torta. I thought the tacos were a bit dry and the quesadilla was a bit plain, but it wasn't bad. read more

7$ for this little ass burrito. I asked for Avocado and it barely has any. Its like they dabbed it here and there i even tipped them before i got it. On top of that broooo! look at these salsa baggies.. they look like theyre dealing drugs or something but most definitely thats a big sign that they are very cheap. Aside from that, the place looked nice and well invested in. So for that- 2.3 of 10 read more

- service was fine; we were a group of $15 and the food came out in order - no prices on anything (probably charge regulars less) - food was okay. quesadilla ($8.50 w carnitas) was good, although it cooled pretty quickly - tacos okay- steak was very very dry, barbacoa was well liked. friend paid $24 for taco plate (with extra tacos and a coke) - vegan friend (no options) ordered chips and salsa- for a total of $6 with only very small packets of sauce (not chunky salsa which he expected) - food served in takeout containers (plastic) there is some seating outside. all in all, the price is a little steep, but i guess there are no better options.... read more

Glad we tried this place out. We were able to order through the phone, because the parking situation is horrendous. The restaurant is in an akwardly placed area that doesn't allow for proper parking so theres all these cars parked haphazardly all around the little place. Regardless of the situation, the service was good and the food was even better! My husband and daughter loved what they got (torta cubana and quesadilla with carne asada). My tacos de barbacoa were to die for. The salsa is LEGIT salsa, both the green and red were spicy and delicious. I'm a little sad they didn't have the red sauce for red enchiladas, I'm sure they would have been good! The only item that was "ok" was the chips and salsa, it was a few chips in a box. All in all, very good restaurant you have to check out if you are in Carlsbad. Make sure to call ahead! read more

Inconsistent pricing. I was charged $27 for what was supposed to be a $12 meal. I was charged $8 for the same meal the previous day. All around a bad business. They also didn't believe me when I told them I was charged the inconsistent amounts. read more

This little place used to be a food truck but is not a brick and mortar building. I cannot tell you how good it is. It is an experience that you have to have yourself. I had the green chili burrito for lunch the first day I was in town and the next morning had the breakfast burrito with green chili. Two of the best burritos I've ever had. Nothing compares. read more

Best Mexican food in Carlsbad New Mexico. Great prices. You can eat as cheap as five dollars.

Spicy is the word for this place. The salsas are good but really hot. Red enchiladas are not good and overly spicy, and I love hot stuff. I wanted to order 1 tamale and they would only sell 6 to me. Carna asada fries were pretty good. Surprisingly mediocre for all the people that are there every morning when I drive bye. read more

We ordered the asada fries and asada burrito. The price was ok and portions seemed small for what I am use to. I asked for rice and beans to be added but the burrito tasted like it barely had anything in it. read more

Was standing outside the window waiting for around 20 minutes and I even knocked on the window and nobody answered so I don't really know how you were meant to order? I tried calling around 5 times and nobody answered. So much for driving 1 hour for these tacos and burritos. read more

I order my breakfast from here most every morning, the food is outstanding and the service is even better. I would and do recommend this place to everyone who is looking for a good early morning breakfast here in Carlsbad. read more

Food was ok but expensive and not made correctly, they fixed but by then was 9. Their closing time. That would have been no issue as out door picnic table ex but they all left and turned out lights (saying nothing). We likely needed another 5-7 min but we're clearly rushed out. Shame. read more

Good tacos. The problem is they are always just barely warm. Doesn't matter if you call them in or walk up And order and wait for them to be made. Lots of potential, not so great execution. read more

It's not saying much about Carlsbad, but as a Houstonian, I can honestly say this place has the best barbacoa tacos in town, and some of the best I've ever had. Each barbacoa taco, which is pretty hefty in size, is prepared with diced onions and cilantro. The tortillas aren't the best, but they don't fall apart while you're eating it, so that's a plus for sure. The red sauce is 7/10 on the hot scale. La Patrona is the kind of place you drive up to, get out and order at the window, and leave. They have setup some tables and hung lights, which actually looks pretty neat when its dark, but most people get in and get out- mostly due to the hustle and bustle of the oilfield town. This place has become my go-to taco place in Carlsbad. read more

Terrible customer service. I ordered a tortas, was going to get a couple tacos but the lady gave me attitude and said they only come in full orders. Asked for a receipt and she didn't know how so she got upset and handed me a handwritten one. read more

Good food! Simple and tasty. Quick service and really nice people. Must try and the Asada fries are good.

Best burritos i've had in NM. Taco truck setup w/ community seating. We stopped here on the way back to Dallas and wish I could have made a second stop, will def return if i'm ever in the area again! Barbacola.. do it *They don't serve chicken, which sucks - but it's alll good here. Check it out if you're in the area. read more

One of the better taco joints in Carlsbad. There were too many flies outside the cashier's window. Not what I wanted to see when I was picking up my food. read more

I had the asado & cheese taco. It was pretty good, with nice strong flavors in the asado, and for $7 (note the menu prices do not include tax) I got a generous helping of four small tacos which filled me up. Simple but good. PS: I don't think this place is a food truck anymore. The truck is now parked outside of a building where the food is served. read more

Mediocre at best. Over priced and honestly not worth the money. It's crazy what you can get away with in Carlsbad.

Soooo good. Was on a road trip to Vegas and came across this place so we stopped. Loved it.

Breakfast and lunch in one stop! Great Tex-Mex. Everything I have ordered has been of great quality and made fresh they are one of the few places open at 5:30 AM and with the time to stop. I get both breakfast and Lunch at the same time on my way out of town. I highly recommend them to any other oilfield workers living on the road. Quick and convenient. read more

Great food truck. Simple menu- tortas, burritos & breakfast burritos. Lots of local workers- good sign of area approval! Got the chile relleno burrito - was great. After a long day of walking through the Carlsbad Caverns we decided to try a food truck. We looked up nearby food trucks and this was rated among the best. And it was amazing! The food truck location is right off the main road but it adds to the overall experience. If I lived here I would be eating here all the time! read more
