Downtown, hungry, need food desperately, sees mall, hopes for best... Not always the ideal fine dining, but hey sometimes you just need to put something in your belly! Walking into this small mall, leaves you second guessing your choice for food as there are strip mall type meals (Chinese, fast food chains, candy and other sweets, coffee). Then you run into what I noticed on two separate occasions, a large line for La Pasta. Turned out to be the best choice I made that day for food as La Pasta deserves its own restaurant for the quality of food they are serving.
Line moves quick and be ready to order when you get to the cashier as with most German establishments. Prices are very inviting and portions are quite large, so no need to order multiple plates in fear of lack of food. I ended up with the pasta carbonara and a glass of red wine, for about 10 euro, yes you heard that right! Being a small food court, expect ample seating. Carbonara and wine were splendid and well worth the wait, especially on a particularly cold day when being inside in a heated environment is ideal. Glad I do not live in Hamburg as I would be eating here daily! read more
