Empanadas house made packed to capacity with savory fillings, I immensely enjoyed the chicken seasoned to perfection, light delicate dough excellent!! But BABY.... The OXTAIL EMPANADA is pure heaven, I LOVED IT, I will drive WEEKLY to get them! The Broiled Snapper was beautiful, not over cooked and juicy and presented superbly!!! Mofongo was the best I ever had! I want to work my way through the entire menu. The Service was PERFECT, genuinely welcoming and helpful with suggestions and the crew there worked together like a well oiled machine!

The flavors were rich, comforting, and straight-up authentic. You can taste the love in that food. And let's talk portions... they are NOT playing with you. I had enough leftovers to run it back for dinner later, and it still tasted just as good! The service? Super attentive and welcoming--exactly what you want when you're trying to sit, relax, and enjoy a good meal. And the decor is such a vibe--cute, cozy, and full of personality. Even the restroom had a unique touch... a big pot turned into a sink! Like... come on, that's creative Will I be back? Oh absolutely. Probably next month though, because it's about an hour drive for me--but listen... it's worth it. If you're ever in the area and craving real, authentic Dominican food... don't even think twice. Just go.

However, I know from traveling that some of the best spots are ones that appear to be a hole in the wall. I walked in, very cute inside! Staff was welcoming and I cozied right up at the bar to wait for my friend. I was immediately brought chips and salsa and a cold beer. We ended up sitting at a high top and our waitress suggested that I try either carne asada from the Mexican menu or Vaca Frita from the Cuban menu. I love me some carne asada but I was intrigued but this 'fried shredded beef' that was marinated in mole and cooked in a hot skillet until crispy. She suggested sweet plantains to go with it and white rice with beans which is traditional Cuban (instead of yellow rice). IT WAS FABULOUS! It was crispy on the outside and juicy. The mole was flavorful but not spicy and i appreciated that the meat was not dripping in sauce. My dinner date ordered chicken tamales which were seasoned in a Cuban style with yellow rice. She is used to Mexican tamales but said these really hit the spot! The only blemish on the nice was her second margarita which was the cucumber one which she didn't like at all. However, the first one she ordered (pictured) which was a different flavor was a show stopper.

Seems like they're a popular spot for big families to dine in at. For starters we split the tostones with guacamole, which i loved and appreciated the side because most Colombian restaurants offer them alone. I got the Bistec Al Caballo with a side of rice & green salad. I've had better but it was still a good meal. Our food came out fairly quickly and I wish we had room for dessert... my go-to is usually Postre de Natas. Overall, I'd go back and probably get something different and maybe even order one of their juices.

This has been one of the worst experiences I've ever had…read more First of all, me and my mother order coffee with milk that took us almost 40 minutes to get. And if it wasn't for us getting the attention of another server I don't think it will ever happen. After we got our coffee our first server completely ignored us and we had to get another server entirely. (Coffee was cold even though we got it fresh) Second of all, we were ahead of many people and those people left way before us and even the newer customers had their foods out first. Not one person came to us the whole time again, and again we had to get the attention of another server. We tried giving them the benefit of doubt that maybe they were to busy but that wasn't even the case because people around us were getting served so quick. Third and final point, the food came out quick surprisingly but it was soon as I took out my phone and started writing a review on them is when they finally started to come ask us how are we doing and is there anything we need. In total while we were eating I want to say they stopped by a minimum of 9 times. Where was the urgency then and by the way It was meant with a lot of stares throughout, I kept catching when I looked up. Maybe we we looked mean or something?? I have no idea, we greeted and meant then with smiles and asking how they are! I guess I'll never know. I won't be back here again. Hopefully someone else's experience goes different!
