We arrived 15 minutes early and was promptly met with a look of surprise and disappointment. We were seated, given our menus, and a few minutes later, our drinks were served, and we ordered our meals. I proceeded to get a salad as we waited for our meal. My wife and I noticed several tables had received their food even though they were seated well after us. When I asked a different server (since our original server never came to check on us after bringing our drinks) about the status of our meal after waiting over a half hour, she went to investigate and returned stating that our food will be out in a couple of minutes. Our food arrived at 9:47 pm, right as we decided to pay for our drinks, salad,and leave. We spoke with management, who seemed to not have a care. The excuse given was that my steak was so large that it took longer to cook. I didn't order a Brontosaurus sized steak, I ordered a fillet. My wife and I are from the USA and have been in Spain for 2 weeks on vacation. This restaurant (La Hacienda) in Peguera came highly recommended but ended up being the worst experience.

Everytime I'm here, I make very sure to eat at El Ciebo. I discovered it when first here in '96 and I never fail to eat here everytime I'm back. It's an up-scale, yet relaxed, Uruguayan restaurant specializing in Argentinian beef. The decor is warm and inviting, the staff incredibly friendly (no small task in a town overrun with British, Irish, and German tourists 12 mos a year!), and the food incredible!! The steaks here are fantastic and I've eaten a hell of a lot of steaks all over the world! There's a grill kitchen centered in the dining room, so you can watch and smell the steaks sizzling. I had the most delicious sauce I ever ate at El Ciebo. I'm not a fan of anything on steak, but the owner recommended this as being what Uruguayans eat on steak, so I tried it. OMG!!! As far as I can tell, it's a mix of avocado, heavy cream, blue cheese, and steak drippings from the grill. Whatever it is, I could roll naked in it!! El Ciebo is very popular and VERY busy, so if you can, make a reservation or you may have a long wait. Or do like I do and go early on an off-night, like Monday. If you're on this end of Mallorca, drive as far as you have to. El Ciebo is that good. Say "hi" if you see me!
