I walked into la nueva troje with my boyfriend for a date, we did not know much about the place but it seemed nice on pictures, well it looks nicer than the pics because they remodeled. The ambiance is great and the guys are very attentive. From a kind welcome to a customer service I haven't seen in Spain since I moved here! The table next to us (with social distance) asked for a margarita and the server didn't ask how she wanted it. Then the server came to the table he realized that he didn't ask and ask the lady if she wanted it remade and she said it wasn't necessary, the server didn't like the answer so he went and made one on the rocks for her and told her to choose whichever she liked as he didn't feel she was happy with the frozen one. The lady was super thankful and you could tell she was impressed and happy as she wanted it on the rocks. I was very pleased to see this type of service in Spain. When it came to my table the same server was very attentive. He checked on us constantly without being intrusive. Since we were on a date and he recommended the wine with the fruits which made perfect match with my salad. My boyfriend loved the burger but the fries were too thick for his taste. I in the other hand loved them and the sauces that were on the burger The cesar salad is really good. It's a great portion, not too big not too small for Europe. In America this will be a small salad but I have accustomed to the sizes here! When it comes to the dessert it was really good. I can not wait to go back and taste the rest of the cakes. The server recommended the cheesecake with dulce de leche and the brownie so maybe you want to be adventurous and tried the cheesecake. I do recommend La Nueva Troje as a place to go enjoy a meal anytime of the day. I am going there today again for lunch and try their lunch options. I stayed in Spain for a month and lived in the Chueca neighborhood for that time. I absolutely loved La Nueva Troje. I came here almost every day, every week, since coming here for the first time early June. Not only was the shisha very cheap (as compared to the States and other Shisha bars in Madrid) but they sold bottles of wine (quality wine too) for 13-15 euros. My check was never too high--regardless of the amount of bottles of wine my friends and I bought. I came here to pre-game, I came here to do homework, I came here to spend time with my friends and have a laugh. The staff was just wonderful, and being that I lived in the neighborhood, sometimes I'd see the workers walking the streets of Chueca and they always greeted me with a "Hola guapa!" Such great service, great food, quality wine/drinks, and wonderful shisha. Couldn't have asked for anything better. Currently I am trying to find a hookah bar here in America that would meet up to La Nueva Troje's standards and have yet to find one. I don't think I will. HIGHLY RECOMMEND COMING HERE. I went to La Nueva Troje last night for the first time after staying in Madrid for a month or so. It was the first place that I walked into and rally thought that it was a real multi purpose place that had elegant style, friendly bartenders, and a menu to die for. Oh and did i mention that the drinks are about 6 Euros and that there is Free WiFi?! I went looking for a new hangout spot, and I sure found it. There are many different Tea (infusions) there, but not as many as an old Lonely Planet guidebook says. Maybe 15 herbal teas or so to choose form, as well as black tea. I arrived at 1:30am, thinking that I would maybe have a drink and then return home. I ended up loving the home made fresh fruit juices so much that I stayed... especially when I could add some liquor to the drink for only 2 Euros extra. Ended up staying until they closed a little after 3:30AM and thoroughly enjoyed myself using WiFi to send a few messages, taking full advantage of the couches, and enjoying the friendly and inclusive clientele. 5 stars. For all of you English speakers, go here. just do it. doesn't matter if you are gay or straight. you will love it. Oh and did I mention it is a hooka bar too?? On my way back to the hostel in Chueca we were approached my a promoter for this bar. We were given a free hooka (shisha as they call it) with the purchase of any cocktail. The lounge inside is decorated very nicely and is quite clean. Their mojitos are very good. The music was very enjoyable. Overall a fantastic atmosphere to enjoy with your friends. The bar also offered complimentary wifi. Would definitely return if I go back Madrid. read more

This is the best place I have been in Madrid! Ismael (the owner) is amazing. I just moved to Madrid, speaking very little Spanish, and I wanted to find a hookah lounge/cafe that I could come to enjoy a coffee and relax. It turned out to be so much more! Amazing drinks, alcohol, juice, milkshakes, food, and hookah! Its updated, beautiful, and homey. I have been here almost every day! Ismael even helped me look for a place to live with my friends, despite the fact that he speaks very little English.
