Had lunch at The Cracker Shack on a recent Saturday afternoon after visiting Babcock Ranch…read more Adorable little cafe that sells some local products such as honey, salad dressings, seasonings and some nick-nacks in attached gift shop. I love these types of local eateries, and I would have liked to have been able to give a higher star-rating but my food was just mediocre. I had an egg salad sandwich on toasted white bread. It was served with a small bag of Lays potato chips, and choice of pasta salad or cole slaw. I opted for the pasta salad. The egg salad and the pasta salad both had the same characteristic - very runny. Thus, my 3-star rating. My husband had french fries with his lunch which were delicious! They were the crinkle cut ones and cooked just to perfection! Optional indoor or outdoor seating. There's a little produce market on-site and I was thrilled to find Dakin Farms Chocolate milk! No need to drive to Sarasota for it!

The strawberries were so sweet it was like eating a dessert. The tomatoes had great fragrance and taste and we enjoyed every bite of their juicy goodness. You can choose to pick yourself or they have a small market with ready to purchase produce available, as well. You can even get something to eat at the Cracker Shack at the other end of their market but we didn't check it out this visit.

If you're looking for the absolute best beef, chicken, and pork in Southwest Florida, stop…read moresearching--Arnold's Meat Processing is the place!Everything is incredibly fresh, perfectly cut, and packed with flavor. The quality is noticeably better than what you find at grocery stores, but what really blew me away was how far they went above and beyond. They even gave my dog some fresh meat while I was there, and she was in heaven! That kind of thoughtful, friendly service is rare these days. The owner's wife was welcoming and genuinely helpful, and it's clear they truly care about their customers (and their pets!). Whether you're grabbing steaks for dinner or stocking up on quality meats, Arnold's delivers every time. It's worth the drive to Fort Denaud--I'll definitely be back again and again.Highly recommend to anyone who appreciates real, delicious meat and great people. Thanks, Arnold's--for even supplied great fresh meats for my dog!!!! Hearts, liver you name it.

Love Arnold's!!!! Such a great place to buy quality meat & the nicest owner. We've purchased…read morechicken breasts, sausage sticks, bacon, 1/2 hog and a 1/2 cow (twice now) & been very happy with all of it. Arnold's typically sells grass/grain fed beef as that's what most people seem to prefer, but they have graciously brought in 100% grass fed/finished beef for us and some other customers with their Iowa beef shipment and it's been delicious! Much better than other grass fed/finished halves we've purchased from other farms & the family actually prefers eating in with our Arnold's steaks rather than dining out. Arnold's handles the entire process from dispatch to packaging. For 1/2 cows they cut and package based on our preferences and even agreed to do a 21 day hang time to further tenderize the meat. Pricing was high, but it was worth enjoying the meat and the way it's cut/packaged. The store is very simple - it's a small shop behind their home in Fort Denaud (between Alva & Labelle). Make sure to check their hours before going and realize they get really busy during 4H/fair time.
