Barria Taco, Mexican corn, Poppas Bravas
Tava B.

I had a taste for Barria Tacos tonight. These Tacos were delicious. As well as the fries. I felt like my corn was missing something but my husband enjoyed it so. My food was definitely good, fresh, made to order and the server was patient with me as I studied the menu that cycled through on a tv screen above lol The Mixd Food hall gets 2 thumbs up from me!!

I came here on Cinco de Mayo in the afternoon and the place with very quiet. The customer service was good and my food was ready in about 10 minutes. The chips were great. The juice was good and not too sweet. The tacos and salsa were not the best.

Shrimp tacos and salmon birria tacos (on right)

Had 1 chicken taco, 1 shrimp taco, 1 steak taco, 1 birria taco, & 1 salmon birria. All were phenomenal!! The tortillas are from scratch. Some taco places are greasy heavy, this was so light and perfectly filling/felt healthy. The spot is very big clean and cute there's even a bar and some arcade games and shuffle board. Well priced. Will be back.

We have no photos of the actual food because it was so good we scarfed it down.

Amazingly great tacos! Al pastor is my favorite but I've tried other menu items and have liked everything. This place is worth the trek.

It had been 12 years since my last visit, and over a decade later--this place did not disappoint…read more On our way out to enjoy the weather, I stopped in with my cousins and we ate very well. We shared the corn, which was perfectly sweet and tangy, ordered three lemonades, and tried a handful of tacos. The taco de lengua was tender and moist without being fatty, the barbacoa was savory with just the right hint of sweetness, and the carne asada was hearty, meaty, and full of flavor. We wrapped things up with a flan that was creamy and custardy--exactly how it should be. The packed parking lot says it all about this place's popularity. Don't miss out.

There are definitely a variety of taco choices. I haven't been unsatisfied yet. There is a small eating area inside away from the bottleneck area where people order and pick up their food but I don't think I'd ever want to eat inside since it's way too busy and the ambiance would be too hectic for me to deal with. There are other choices of sides or extras like maíz loco (corn on the cob with a variety of toppings like mayo, catsup, crumbled cheese, tajín...your choices), dried pork rinds, chicharrón (chewier and crispy version of the pork rinds), atole (hot, masa-based beverage made from corn dough, water or milk, sweetened with sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla). There are quick desserts to go too. I would highly recommend ordering ahead so you can get in and out or figuring out the less congested times. I've come during the dinner rush hours time but hadn't been planning on getting it ahead of time. I definitely recommend this place and will continue to come back.

We were sat right away and I was surprised at how big the restaurant is (way bigger than it looks from the outside!). I started with a hibiscus margarita, which was delicious. Then we ordered a few things to split, including: guac and tostadas, charred cabbage, gorditas with chorizo, aguachile negro, and the beef short rib platter. The charred cabbage was the biggest sleeper hit. It was so flavorful and unlike anything I've ever had before. Everything else was delicious, although the aguachile was probably my least favorite of what we tried. We finished with the rose water tres leches and the dulce de leche crepes. The tres leches were pretty good but the crepes were amazing. I don't usually love dulce de leche, but it was definitely a standout.

If you are planning to visit during popular dining hours, it might be worth it to make a reservation. We arrived during a weekend around 5:30 pm, and the place was somewhat empty. However, by 6-6:15 pm, the place was PACKED. I was a very surprised (in a good way) that the menu was a bit smaller compared to other Mexican/Tex-Mex restaurants in the area. I necessarily do not think the smaller menu is a bad thing because, with a smaller menu, a restaurant can focus on preparing everything well (i.e., it's easier to do a good job with 20-item menu versus a 50+-item menu). For my dining pleasure, I went with the enchiladas suizas with a few margaritas. Overall, I thought my plate was very delicious; however, other diners at my table and I noticed that the portion sizes were a bit small for the price. Perhaps, the restaurant uses higher quality ingredients for its dishes. Although the margarita sizes might appear to be small, they definitely are not "small" in power/punch, so the $13-$18 price range is appropriate. My favorite margarita of the night definitely was the El Jardinero, which was a wonderful mix of carrot, cilantro, peach, lime and a semi-spicy pepper of sorts. Collectively, we all thought the service was exceptional because our waitress constantly visited the table. Personally, I thought it was a bit overkill, but that's a very, very minor complaint based on my very, very personal preference.
