True #mexicanfood experience. Hand painted table & chairs, whimsical decor, authentic food down to nopal or rabbit dishes, very clean, & good service.. #dmv #Bladensburg .. #valentinesdinner Only con is the limited parking

About the place itself, they're pretty impressive for being quite spacious and nice decor. I'd give them a 5 for that. However, the quality of their breaded chicken torta gets a 2, giving La Chocita overall average of 3.5 stars. Bolillo bread tasted a tad bit stale. Toppings were reasonably fresh as well as condiments provided. Although the chicken cutlet was sufficiently seasoned, it was dry or tough in some parts enough for me to not only try to bite harder but also clamp on it with my fingers. For $9.53, I had better tortas for the same or bit lower price at other Mexican joints in the area.

No stars. Hair in food. Tasteless fajitas and surprise charges when you close out. You can find better local Mexican restaurants. Promise.

This location looks pretty authentic and cute location. The setting area is very unique and made from all wood tree logs. The kitchen is open space, you can see your food being prepared on site. They have a mini desert and smoothie area. We usually get the steak/chicken tacos which come with two tortillas, diced onions, cilantro and limón wedges. With a side of cucumber, radishes and green/ red hot sauce. We've tried the torta cubana, which is okay. It's a sandwich with ham, breaded steak and chicken thinly slices. Also brings shredded goat cheese, avocado, refried beans and jalapeños. The location is kept clean and organized. Kitchen looks clean and always stocked with drinks. The decoration seems authentic, food is okay. At times service can be slow if dinning in. We always call our order ahead of time.

Took my old lady here for brunch. It was super delicious and our server was sweet and attentive. Loved the decor and plants!

The food is amazing but the customer service is horrible. And when you pay with cash they wont give you the right amount of change.

Excellent food. Enjoyed the chorizo and eggs, carne asada, hot sauces, and tortillas. Will be back.

We shared the corn, which was perfectly sweet and tangy, ordered three lemonades, and tried a handful of tacos. The taco de lengua was tender and moist without being fatty, the barbacoa was savory with just the right hint of sweetness, and the carne asada was hearty, meaty, and full of flavor. We wrapped things up with a flan that was creamy and custardy--exactly how it should be. The packed parking lot says it all about this place's popularity. Don't miss out.

This place is ALWAYS poppin'. This taqueria has been here for years! I can't think of many times…read morewhen this place isn't packed, busy, or having multiple parking spots open. There are definitely a variety of taco choices. I haven't been unsatisfied yet. There is a small eating area inside away from the bottleneck area where people order and pick up their food but I don't think I'd ever want to eat inside since it's way too busy and the ambiance would be too hectic for me to deal with. There are other choices of sides or extras like maíz loco (corn on the cob with a variety of toppings like mayo, catsup, crumbled cheese, tajín...your choices), dried pork rinds, chicharrón (chewier and crispy version of the pork rinds), atole (hot, masa-based beverage made from corn dough, water or milk, sweetened with sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla). There are quick desserts to go too. I would highly recommend ordering ahead so you can get in and out or figuring out the less congested times. I've come during the dinner rush hours time but hadn't been planning on getting it ahead of time. I definitely recommend this place and will continue to come back.
