I really enjoyed this restaurant, a lot different from the Mexican food I'm used to in the states. The server was super attentive and what looked like the manager, was also helping out , far from managers that sit in the office in the states, he was out making sure everything was running well and patrons are happy. One of the best Argentinian spots in GDL. The beef is outstanding! Oyo de bite and the Asado are the go to!

Nice place to eat, ambiance and food were good. The only thing I did not like was the cost of a glass of wine $250 pesos and the bottle on the market was $500 pesos, my mistake for not looking at the prices not thinking I was going to get ripped off. This restaurant has great ambiance and even better food. The complimentary starters (bread, chimichurri, and beans) are fantastic. I had the Rib-eye (excellent) and the linguini Bolognese (delicious). Try the desserts: chocolate cake was amazing! Strawberries with cream and vanilla ice cream( IDK the name) was refreshing. I also had the sweet potato (camote) with almond crunch over vanilla ice cream, this was the winner for me! read more

La Matera is like an Argentinean restaurant. First of all, the wood work is amazing. Especially the ceiling. I highly recommend sitting outside. The cervezas are plentiful. The service is second to none. The assortment of breads and appetizer are truly magnificent. Surprisingly, I ordered a shrimp pasta dish, as opposed to a meat dish. Between the shrimp, Calamari, sauce, and pasta it laid on, the dish was fulfilling from start to end. I filled up on Negra Modello (beer) and bread, there was not enough room for me finish it nor enjoy any of the wonderful such as the chocolate moose. Oh well, there is next time. What a great experience in Guadalajara.. from the first step we took into the place until the last one exiting we felt welcomed... We ordered two dishes: Tallarines (pasta) Corazón de Bife The pasta was great, but the Bife was excellent. I ordered the bife medium and it came out medium. Short: food was 3.5-4 star. Service was 5+ The food was decent, but overpriced. However, the service was amazing. Our toddler spilled his juice and moments later our waiter cleared out entire table, put down a new table cloth, and reset the table. She did it cheerfully without any negative vibes. Also, more than once I said to my partner that I'd like X and seconds later our waitress was on it without me having to ask. As the same time, she didn't hover. It was a very pleasant dining experience. Unfortunately the food wasn't as good. My main plate was the spinach raviolis. The sauce was not much more than crushed tomatoes, and the raviolis were bland. My Sicilian empanada was pretty good, though it had the same sauce as the raviolis. My partner had a cappuccino after the meal and it was very good. Probably the best we've had in our two months in Mexico. read more

Excellent authentic Argentinean steakhouse fare. The mollejas, chorizos parrilleros and morcillas were on point. Ordered the short ribs (asado de tira) and they were juicy and perfectly seasoned. Coffee and dulce de leche crepes were the perfect end to a delicious lunch. read more

Nice brick building with indoor and outdoor seating. Started with grilled endive with blue cheese and walnuts. Wood fired pizzas and a good steak selection. Went with the flap steak with vegetables. Everything was fantastic and I will definitely return! Afterwards, stopped in the bar below the restaurant for a nightcap. A spot on 4-star Very extensive but expensive wine list - 3V temp cab Merlot blend was served quite cold and a little disappointing, the more expensive Mogor Badan Bordeaux blend was excellent. I only was considering Mexican wines. Great starters: we had the burrata dish, the carpaccio (not your usual but excellent) and an empeñada Excellent meat: shared the ribeye (bife de chorizo, perfect) and the spaghetti bolognese (could have skipped) Dessert: disappointing list, had the only two that seemed appealing and they were decent but nothing to write home about: bonbon something and marring fierro. I'd skip dessert next time (sadly) but I'd be back! read more

Great Italian food. Its a little bid more expensive that other restaurants in the area, but worth it. Good flavor of the food selections. I got the special and was very surprised with the selection. I had dinner at this restaurant this evening based on Internet recommendations and was so disappointed. First, the waiter Eric (who was very nice and polite) forgot to bring my wine and had to be reminded. I ordered the deluxe rib eye, medium rare ... when the steak arrived it was cold, overcooked and tough. Eric NEVER came back to check how we were, so when he removed the plates 30 minutes later, I pointed out to him that my steak was not good. His superior came over and took the steak back to the kitchen and then the manager came and agreed that the steak was bad and explained exactly why - something having to do with a layer of fat through the middle. He offered a complimentary dessert. Really?? My companion paid for the meal - including the bad steak - and we left. This is a great restaurant to try if you want to eat Rosemary potatoes (which were wonderful) and various breads with pesto, salsa and beans. If you want beef, you should go elsewhere. read more
