At first I tried their Mojito it was very good everything was fresh. I tried their plantains with guac and jerk Chicken. The chicken had a nice spice to it. Whenever I have a chance to return I'll most visit this bar again.

With that said this place appears it won't disappoint just from the look of the food on the other customers tables. I came late for drinks and appetizers and didn't get a chance to order a main dish, but the appetizer were good. I'll get another chance to try the food before I leave, it's already on my list. Im looking forward to it. Update.... came back and had the food, they get one more star. Living in Miami, home of Little Havana I've eaten some of the best Cuban food outside of Cuba (I've been to Cuba as well shout out to El Aljibe). This place can compete with the best of them.... lastly that tamale was something special....I'll be back again before my trip is over most definitely.

The music, food, and drinks will make you feel at ease and amazing. Salsa music is very old school and it is not fair to only give it 5 stars when it deserves more than that. Thank you, La colonial and their staff. Amazing service.

Definitely earned its rank amongst the "best" Pina Colada's I have ever had! There was live music that gave the whole place a warm, easy vibe. We did not expect such wonderful Cuban hospitality in Spain. Our server Alejandro was fantastic--very attentive without hovering and really focused on making sure we had everything we needed all night. We shared the Chipotle chicken thighs, which were seasoned beautifully and came garnished with roasted broccoli that was cooked just right. The only miss for us was the creamy white sauce or purée the dish was plated on, which we did not enjoy, but everything else was muy bueno. As an American black woman in Spain, I felt very welcomed here. If this is a taste of how hospitality is served in Cuba, I would love to visit someday--international politics permitting.

Bomb spot for authentic Venezulan tapas. We stumbled across this spot as we were walking around…read moretrying to digest the food and wine we had only a couple of hours before and I was in the mood for a cocktail as I had been having wine for 5 days straight. I saw the fresh fruit in the window and was curious about what this spot was all about then I walked in and they had a pretty extensive drink menu and it sounded fresh and clean. When I walked in I felt I got transported to a beach town as they had incense lit and jack Johnson rocking out. We sat at the bar and were in the mix of all the action that this little spot brings in. I ordered a fresh watermelon martini, sangria and then got an order of nachos. The topping on the nachos were full of flavor but the chips themselves were not that fresh. Better that way so I don't eat the whole damn thing, then we moved on to their take of a tamale(Hallacas) omg it was amazing and lots meat in there.. highly recommend and then we ended with a Nutella dessert, it's was definitely a way to close the night with. Cute spot, great for groups as they have a more proper restaurant upstairs. Definitely would recommend and I know they have other locations. Can't beat that freshness, the service and the food.

Some friends recommended me this place and I had faith in it because of that…read more The 2 stars I'm giving here, are not about food quality, cleanliness of the restaurant or because of poor service, it's because, for some reason, Venezuelans think they can charge ridiculous prices for food just because it's a "Venezuelan" restaurant. I'm well aware this is in Malasaña but 16 euros for a roasted chicken and 2 beverages? You gotta be kidding me. Quality-wise I can get the exact same chicken elsewhere for half the price. I sat down and as soon as i saw the prices I just left. Because I`ll rather spend 19 euros on an excellent sirloin steak with french fries and pimientos de piquillo anywhere else than paying 16 euros for a friggin roasted chicken. If you dig the place and the neighborhood and don't care getting charged outrageous prices (even higher than in other venezuelan restaurants) than everywhere else in Madrid, come. It's clean and they are polite.

I guess they've perfected their recipe over the past 300 years! Price for the Menu 1725 was 90€, very reasonable for the quantity and quality of food. I was afraid it would be a tourist trap (it was #1 on our tour's list) but was very happy to see local families dining. And a bachelor party from Australia that we out-rowdied. Yay USA!
