This is definitely my Go To spot in Tulum! I go here every time I'm in the vicinity. For some reason Tulum doesn't have many chicken spot options, and if you follow my reviews you know I'm basically a chicken maniac. They have some of the beat chicken in the city and also many other options. I have never heard anything bad about this place. Everyone is super nice, and helpful. I love the location, as well as the decor. They are on the corner of the action, it's always festive in the streets right outside and they have swings for you to sit in and eat. I sit at the swings every time and get drunk and stuff my face with tacos. Lol the bar swings are more fun when you're drunk anyway. This is a can't miss spot. An every visit type of place.

This restaurant was so cute! They had swings as seats at some of the tables and the food was good too. We got a strawberry/mango margarita and tacos and pizza. Delicious! The menu is pretty diverse, more options than your typical taqueria and they serve pasta and pizza! I would say it is good for when you're not sure what to eat or if you have picky eaters in your group of even a family who is hungry! The mango margarita tasted like they made it super fresh and the mangos were from real mangos. It's right off the strip of downtown tulum shops, so if you get hungry while you're out sightseeing and shopping, it's worth checking out. The staff was very friendly too.

Great authentic food! My waiter Armando was very nice and friendly. It took some time to wait for food but it was worth it. I recommend this place if you are in Tulum and want to try authentic Mexican food

When you live in LA, Mexican food is on every corner and although we have great restaurants here, the enchiladas at La Malquerida were the best enchiladas I've ever had! By far! I love how they are prepared with meat on top and the green salsa was excellent, great kick! The drinks are amazing too! They have everything from pizza and fries to traditional Mexican food. If you're ever in Tulum, do yourself a favor and stop by. You won't be disappointed!

Came here for the Lobster pizza during memorial weekend of this year but there was a shortage of lobster due to overfishing regulations and so we almost left to another place. Good thing we didn't! The waiter suggested the shrimp mushroom pizza and it was amazing! We also had the pepper wings I forgot what kind of pepper though, it was great too. We got the guac and chips for appetizer and it was okay probably would try a different appetizer next time. If we would have had stayed longer we definitely would've went back to try their other dishes but theres so much great food in Tulum to try, what can you do. Until next time! Btw this restaurant has swings for the bar and a few of their high tables which is pretty cool, we loved that. Its hard to find air conditioning in restaurants in Tulum so keep that in mind, bring bug repellent wipes and loose clothing that keeps you cool!

Ceviche - all shrimp was the best! The spicy sauce that comes with it is delicious! Love yourself. Get it!

Food is good, service was not fast and not slow just average. Had to ask the waiters for extra refill and to place my order, this place may be understaffed as it was 80% full and the service could have been better. I ordered the guacamole, which wasn't salty like a previous post. However it lacked flavor and spice, I had to ask for habanero on the side to make things more interesting. Wish they would add more tomatoes, and some shallots to their guac. Not impressed overall. Chips were fresh, and enough in quantity for the serving. The fish tacos were slightly breaded, they were bland and lacked any flavor they didn't use any spice on them, . You really have to use the provided sauces to help give it some flavor. Rather disappointed in prior reviews. Mediocre, as a foodie I can get better Mexican food in California. I'd try other places, I'm sure there's better.

The service was awesome, super fun to eat on the swings and the lobster pizza as well as the fish tacos were so tasty!

I've been in Tulum for 5 days at this point and have been to Malquerida 2x. They have a immense menu selection and everything that I have tried is muy bien. This pizza is $6 USD and I'm willing to line it up against $20 dollars pies back home it's that good. I'll frequent this place every single I come back to the Yucatán.

A charming, lively restaurant on a street that is shut down to vehicular traffic. We had ceviche that was quite good (although Tulum has amazing ceviche, and this La Malquerida's probably didn't rank top 5) and some quesadillas as well as some Pacificos. A decent meal in a fun location and restaurant, but definitely a teensy bit touristy! A meal I wouldn't mind having again though!

Ceviche= octopus, shrimp, and grouper.. No adjectives nor words will serve this justice.... Amazing

Great food:specifically the seafood! Had the ceviche with grouper, shrimp, and octopus one night; Then had fish tacos the next. Both were insanely excellent. We started each meal with the guacamole (which comes in a big bowl) which also was great. They take Credit card as well; I had visa. Seriously go eat here!

Just happened to find this spot while walking around the area. We stopped because there were seats at the bar with swings and not as full as the other restaurants nearby. The bartender was friendly and took our order quickly. I just ordered a margarita and it was great. Simple, strong and tasty. Not too citrusy. They make an authentic margarita. Didn't eat here so not sure about the food.

The best Nachos I've ever had...
    Claudia S.

This place has very good Mexican food. It was Almost 10pm, we were tired and just wanted to eat a snack and go to bed. We saw the place and it looked nice, clean, and the menu looked good. The Nachos were fantastic! The best ones I've had so far! The prices are affordable and the atention was very good. Definitely coming back tomorrow for breakfast!

The micheladas were the best ones I've ever tried (and I've tried a lot, haha). The restaurant has a very fancy feel, even though the food/drinks were reasonably priced. The ambiance was beautiful - gorgeous paintings of jaguars everywhere and dim lighting to set the mood. The service was outstanding. Our waiters, Guillermo & Martín, made sure we were taken care of throughout the whole night. They even brought my friends and me a mini coat rack to hang our purses next to our table.

The food here is phenomenal. Everything was delicious. The chips, the drinks, the entrees all just delicious! We started with fresh chips and salsa, for the salsa you get about 5-6 different salsa options. The pica- de callio and the green sauce are to die for, really incredible. For my entree I ordered the lamb lollipops and omg they were heavenly. I wish they lasted forever. It came with this delicious gravy on top and a side salad. The lamb was nice and tender, my mouth is watering just thinking about them yum! Great service, great food, great atmosphere. If you're in the area it would be a mistake NOT to come here. 10/10.

Was a bit underwhelmed by this spot to be honest. The aesthetics were on point, open air concept…read morewith widely spaced tables, candles, decent music. They start you off with a complimentary piece of toast with some vegetable chunks. Each of us got a quarter of a piece of dry white bread that I would pass on in the future but the vegetables paired with it had decent flavor. I got the passion fire as my drink and very much enjoyed it. It was sweet and refreshing with just the right amount of heat. 9/10. For appetizers my group split the duck tartlet with pink mole, the sweet potato agrodolce, and the hamachi tiradito. The duck was well cooked and tender but lacking in flavor. The pink mole wasn't adding much to the dish other than creaminess. The tart shell was awful. It was thick and dry and reminiscent of a premade store bought tart shell. 5/10. The sweet potato agrodolce was good, the sweet potato and squash ribbons had a nice firm texture and snap but all of the flavor came from the yogurt sauce that they were sitting on. 7/10. The hamachi tiradito was my favorite of the apps. The fish was fresh and light, the flavors were interesting with the combination of the sweet banana vinaigrette, the salty umami ponzu, and the sweet tangy mango, chili, cucumber salsa. This dish was the best of the night, 8/10. For mains we split the catch of the day, which was red snapper, and the broken beet. The fish was underwhelming, being a bit overcooked and dry. The sauce it was drenched in helped with the dryness but didn't lend much flavor. The yuca chips were a nice addition, adding a nice crunch to contrast the soft textures of the fish and sauce but again, not lending much in flavor. Chips could have been salted. 6/10. The beets were cooked well, they were soft and tender and paired nicely with the sour cream, turmeric oil, and salad. The turmeric oil added acidity, the salad added freshness and also acidity from the dressing it had, and the sour cream added a nice creaminess and tangy. These flavors offset the richness of the beets nicely. My second favorite dish, 8/10. For dessert we went with the "corn," which was a cake shaped like a corn cob with a chopped nut center and what I think was real corn kernels across the exterior, paired with a corn ice cream. Overall a solid dessert, the chopped nuts added a nice crunch however the cake as a whole was a bit dry. The ice cream added some needed moisture and paired nicely with the cake, though the texture was a bit icy, more like a corn sorbet than a corn ice cream. 6/10. Overall a good experience but with its high prices and small portions I wouldn't go back. The apps were on average between $20-$30 usd, with mains being between $25-$50 usd, and dessert $20 usd.

We arrived on a rainy night and they improvised a valet device for us. We were seated in a lovely indoor/outdoor room, tables spaced well apart from other diners. Our waiter explained both the drinks and the food. In fact, when I wanted to order a glass of wine, he offered to have us taste all the reds they had available (since he didn't have faith in the one I had my eye on). The food was on the fancy side and very very good. One dish didn't succeed, but the rest did. It was a lovely night and we ate well!
