BIG disappointment, my man Fabrice N. sent us here and we really wanted to like it.
The good:
- drinks were good. My wife got a ginger peket (local gin), and I got something that was Witbier, peket, and lemon, that was really refreshing on a hot day.
- Location - a half block off of the Place du Marche.
The OK:
- my meatballs in peket sirop. First time trying them, they were sweet and bland; I presume they are made better elsewhere.
- my wife's salad Liegoise (too greasy)
The bad:
- Frites. I understand that frituurs do them better than restaurants typically, but these were sub-standard.
- service. The girls were very nice but it was obvoius a) they were not well-trained, and b) someone who is normally around to make things run smoothly was not there that day. (You know what I am talking about.)
- Burger - even though we ordered it "nature" it came slathered - SLATHERED - in ketchup. The kitchen took it back and apparently wiped the ketchup off and put it on a new bun.
- I understand that lunch is longer here on the continent but we ordered really standard things, just the one course, and it took 2.5 hours start to finish for our lunch. read more
