The two employees were unfriendly & not forthcoming with any information. Orange and ginger covered chocolates at 97 euros per kilo (2.2 pounds, 130 dollars/kilod). I spent 31.36 euros for 7 fruit strips, 5 tiny chocolates, 2 small cappucinos, 1macaroon.
Fine for a treat BUT: the coffees tasted like dirty water, not espresso, no foam; i asked for a praline or coffee macaroon. She gave me a coffee one that was either date of fig, NOT coffee, as she told me it was.. I gave her euro 32 and 1 cent, told HER the change as she was confused (65 cents, so I do not get 4 eurocents back, pointing to the penny). She did give me 65, but with two 2 cent pieces, and one 1 cent back, with no "sorry, have no 5's,etc.
tasted the togo coffees half a block away. I returned with the two coffees, stating that they didn't taste like caps. She said, we make them like that all day long, always. I left them there, was really angry at their whole attitude and said "then you drink them."
I speak very good French, have had coffees all over Europe, Africa, south America, the US, and know my cappuccinos. It is sad because I looked forward to this treat, after having been in the "La Maison" both in Paris and New York.
