Staff were really friendly and it was a nice spot to spend an hour or so. The cafe also has various items for sale including plants, crockery, candles and kids items, however I found they were priced pretty high. This is why I dropped a star on my review as I found it was on the pricier side. Tea was £2 and a slice of cake/cupcake/pastry was £3. I did enjoy my tea and cake and the cake was homemade but it was a bit of a small portion to justify the £3 price. However I appreciate the vicinity of the cafe probably warrants the price and it is in quite a touristy area with the London Eye a 5 min walk away. The cafe has been there 4 months and it makes a change to visit a local business vs a chain cafe, hopefully it is here to stick around. So give it a go! In spite of a long queue service is efficient. I don't think I have ever had to wait more than 5 minutes. There are usually 4 or 5 people making sandwiches with 1 or 2 people supporting the effort either at the till or filling up supplies. On one or two occasions I have had difficulting understanding the server behind the counter, but it worked out fine. You can have all your food put into a plastic bag which is quite handy for your walk back to the office or the park. Shop It has a small seating, comprised of little round tables. In total it seats about 10. When the line queues up it can stretch the length of the shop to the entry door. The 'L' shaped service counter is in the back with the till at the bend. The flow of service would work better if the till was at the end of the 'L'. I often find myself having to reach around someone to pay my bill. There is a single cooler with a variety of beverages (water, soda, etc.). There is also a stand witch crisps in a packet or in a can (Pringles). Overall, the sandwich bar is convenient for people who work near to Waterloo Station and Southwark. It is not a place to make a special out of the way trip for, however it is highly recommended as a place to regular if you work in the area.

Just don't try to fit it onto a plate when you get back to the office. Or if you're after something to eat on the go, the chorizo baguette with gran padano and rocket was a personal fave of mine.
