I agree it's not great for small dogs since it's big wood chips. My dog played on it for a little while but eventually didn't want to walk on it anymore. There's one strip of like dirt but it's too close to the street and I was afraid his ball might go under the fence. There is free two hour parking a couple blocks away on Georgia st.

Porter in the large dog area.

-Nice and clean even though it's located in the middle of the city. You might have to walk through traffic and under bridges to get there though. -There's a small dog section and a large dog section. -No grass. Only tanbark.

This is a pretty unknown park since it's fairly new. It's empty right now although I did see 1 small dog in the other area and 2 large dogs that were in the big dog area. Owners were very nice and approachable. PROS: It doesn't smell like any type of dog defecation anywhere around here! Owners definitely pick up after their dogs so that's great. Theres an emergency tower located in both dog parks just in case something may go wrong. Big dog park is large enough for my 7 month old Husky to run around in, and even for the larger 2 adult dogs that were here earlier. There's 2 benches located in both parks, at the front and end. There's a dog fountain inside both parks. There's two stations that supplies dog waste bags and a trash can located next to it. It's not even smelly around there so it looks like they empty it out before it even gets full. There's three lampposts so I suspect that the parks may be well lit at night, but I don't know. I saw LA Live security patrol here once in the 2 hours I've been here! (: CONS: Not enough shade for everyone if this were to ever become a well known dog park. Small dog park has no shade, but the large dog park only has one area located at the end under the tree with a bench near it. Just a heads up though I've seen an empty beer can and a swisher sweets wrapper discarded on the floor in the large dog area. This dog park is tucked away next to the highway and behind the parking lot. It's not a high foot traffic area so the only people I've seen are workers from the convention center leave to go home but there's very few. Great dog park! I just wish there were more dogs for my Kobe to play with.

I have discovered this dog many years ago when JW was barely finished. It's behind the parking structure for LA live. I'm glad they converted this small plot of land into a doggie park . It's small but hardly anyone here. It's clean and the ground is covered with brown color mulch . There is an emergency tower on each side just in case .About 2 clean metal benches .Its July and the flowers are falling from the tree.

Pretty empty during normal working hours but so nice and clean. Definitely happy there are wood chips and not dirt. So if you're dressed up you wont get as dirty unless some excited dog jumps on you lol really love how convenient it is to park, $10 for the first 2hr at la live. Everything here is your normal dog park no bells and whistles just poop bags and a water fountain. Its fenced which I always prefer, one way in and one way out. 2 sides one for big dogs and one for small ones. This space gets the job done and I'm pretty surprised it's right here downtown. Hop skip and a jump away from the convention center and freeway

Extremely clean and well-maintained! Having a horrible experience in at the Silver Lake dog park made me really appreciate how great this one is. I regularly see maintenance workers cleaning up any litter, replacing the poop bag dispensers, trimming the bushes, and making sure the water fountains are in order. This is a wood chip filled dog park-- this actually makes it feel cleaner than the other dirt or grass dog parks in LA. Every few months or so, they replace the wood chips to maintain cleanliness. The large dog section here is a decent size while the small one is pretty tiny. It's just enough room for the small dogs to run around a bit, but I do wish it was bigger. This park isn't as busy as others due to its location, though it does get popular after work from 6-7pm. There's some street parking along Olympic or you can park in the LA Live lot closest to the dog park (first two hours for $5).

This park got little fanfare when it opened a year ago (probably intentional on LA Live's part) So naturally I had to add the business information to Yelp. Clean park with great doggie amenities. There's even a small patch of grass across the street for dogs who prefer the green stuff. Thank you LA Live for adding to the South Park neighborhood! I forgive you for kicking my dog and me out from walking through your main plaza. You are dog friendly after all!!

No one else is ever here, but our little guys still manage to have a good time. This is just the small dog side--huge!!!

This dog park is huge, clean, attractive, and has so much potential--but no one knows it is here! This is our second time visiting with no other pups in sight. My little guy is always so dejected to get here and have no other little friends to play with :( I only found it about it myself via Yelp, so it could certainly stand for a little publicity! If it can get going, this will be our go to hangout. Two nicely sized separate areas for big friends and little friends-- the large dog side is just ENORMOUS, but the small dog side is really big compared to the other downtown parks too. Emergency phones and dog fountains in each. The fencing doesn't extend all the way to the ground, so be very careful with very small pups who could wriggle through.

Ginormous tan bark. Not great for small dogs. My dog only stayed on the sandy walkway.

It didn't feel very safe at night, no lights and not a great area. That would have been better.

Found a male bulldog, White with light brown mix, no collar; Cute and friendly. We have him at the west hall of the LACC. One of the guys is walking around & has a relative who works for a vet & will scan for a chip and post for owner if not found?

    Puppy? Photo?

This place definitely needs a much needed upgrade from the city, and even a bigger lot space (though expensive in LA). My favorite part is the random fire hydrant smacked right in the middle, but there isn't a large area of varying landscape to keep my goldie interested. The sandy area isn't too crowded the times I go, and it serves as an excellent stop anytime when I'm in the area with my dog.

I did not donate any money and they in exchange did not produce a gate code for me to enter with my dog. There was another visitor inside the park when we were trying to go in who was kind enough to help us enter the dog park anyway to check it out When you enter there is a very small strip of dirt in the right side of the park which is presumably for small dogs? Not sure because it didn't have a whole lot going on there. There is another small section on the left side with wheels and some benches where the other dogs were playing This park is on a very small lot of land, and does not appear to be well maintained at all. The entry gate, which opens when you enter the code is tricky and difficult to open. Adding to the experience is the fact that reception is very touch and go in the arts district area for my phone (and I have Verizon so I think it might be because of all the buildings there?) There is a decent amount of leftover dog poop from previous visitors who failed to pick up after their pooch. There is no water for your dog so BYOW for your pets. After a couple of runs in this park my dog was done with it. I don't think I'll be returning again

When you arrive to the park, drive towards the very back until you reach the "bridge". You'll then walk under the same bridge and the dog park will be to your right. The dogs that are loose in this section have always been mature and friendly so I never feel worried for my pup. But it's something to consider and keep an eye out for. The park itself isn't the cleanest but it's not the dirtiest. I would avoid coming here after it rains because it is all dirt and the dog park is known to have puddles after it rains. They do have agility equipment- ramp, tunnel, weave poles (somewhat destroyed) pause box and jumps. There was a really nice group for awhile, attentive parents, friendly Dogs. Then after awhile so many "owners" did not watch their dogs. Multiple times when we arrived the same dog would attack Betty as she entered the gate. The guy just said "oh he's fine he's not doing anything wrong" that's after I said something. One lady got upset with me when I didn't want Betty to drink from the community water bowl. She yelled "so this water isn't Good enough for your Dog?". I just replied it's my choice. And probably has something to do with the Dog that just peed in it. I guess like any Dig park there are Dogs and people that aren't the best. There is some shade with benches. Plenty of parking in the adjoining lot shared with the park with tennis courts. Weekday early morning no parking issues. Also there used to be 2 entrances to the bike path, one towards the tennis courts with a flight of steps down. The other across from the Dog park with a ramp down. But last we were there both gates were locked. It's usually clean, other visitors seem to pick up after those that don't which is nice.
