La Ligne Rouge is a cafeteria style place for Greek Food. Located just outside of Jean Talon Metro station. There is ample street parking, I was passing by and it was dinner time, so decided to stop in for a quick bite. The place is a mom n pop shop, I wasn't really in the mood for Greek, but they served donnair, so I decided to give that a try. Of course, I also had to get a side of pouting, I was in Montreal after all. I ended up ordering a #7 & #12. Two donnair and a poutine combo. The donnair was disappointing. It lacked flavour and sauce was sub par. It was greasy, but not in the way that would merit the title of a greasy spoon joint. The meat was lacking and the proportion of meat to vegetable was Way off. The vegetables were decent though, the tomatoes not too ripe, the onions were raw and spicy and way too many. And this is coming from a guy that loves onions! 2 stars. The poutine fared no better. The combo came with a Tony drink, maybe 240ml (8oz) which was already a stingy sign. But the worse of it was probably the poutine. It did keep the theme of lacking flavour, I was able to taste the starch in their Brown sauce. The fries were old style chips, cooked in lard at a temperature too low so that they would absorb the grease. 1 star. There are plenty of other places in Montreal to get some late night good eats. The place gets 1,5 stars but since there are no halves, I'd have to round down and not up. In my opinion, La Ligne Rouge is exactly that, A Red Line, right through its name in my books... Yet another review where my opinion is not align with the masses. I've tried to describe the food as best I can so that you can decide for yourself whether or not this place is worthy of a visit.

The Montréal restaurant was near the jean-talon market. Very big portion! Taste good and well flavored. Many kinds of roasted meats. I was quite full and satisfied after lunch.

If what you need is a late night poutine with meat from a spit shaved on to it, just to put poutine over the edge and beyond, than this is the place. Don't look too closely at anything inside except the hand-painted portrait of the owner with his manly mullet on the window. Don't question your life choices too much as the midnight gravy hits your gut (and thighs.) Just enjoy the Double Red Line ride.

Returning for more. Can't get enough of their delightful domors, secret has to be the grease, only con about this place the drinks with their combos dhould be a medium drink instead a tiny drink.

Classic poutine soooo yummy

The Mullets!!! The old decor, threw me off the 1st time i stepped into the place. But the food was good enough for me to loose focus of my surroundings. They close late which is a bonus! Staff was very friendly! The poutine was amazing, it was so much food and it hit the spot instantly! As for the chicken souvlaki humm, a bit soggy and bland. Ill try a doner next time. This place is convenient if you live in the villeray/ jean talon area and its affordable! I wouldn't sit down and eat there but that the clean freak in me , but I suggest you take it to go! The poutines are definitely worth going for!

Quite tasty. I had an all dressed slouvaky. The white sauce was delicious. It is a bit busy but worth the wait.

But unfortunately, the hype itself (and covid) is somewhat ruining the experience. I was alone and ordered ONE sandwich with a side of fries, and it took over forty minutes to receive my order. Thankfully there was no line, but waiting forty full minutes for a single sandwich and fries is kind of unbelievable even for such a popular place. Then again, I understand that maybe they are short staffed or can't keep up with the increasing demand due to their popularity on social media, but it's unfortunate since I received my food lukewarm and not as fresh as I'd wished. TL;DR - If you're okay with waiting a while to get your food, go ahead and try out Tasty MTL. You won't be disappointed!

My sister was trying the ramen dog and mozzarella/hot dog. I didn't enjoy the line up in the cold, my toes were super frozen. The service is average; they rush you to make your choice. After receiving the corn dogs; you hope to find a warm place to try them. We went inside the metro to eat them. They are delicious, but since it's deep fried, you feel the heaviness of it in your belly. I was happy to try them but the experience to get them and eating them somewhere warm was horrendous.

I went on their second day of being open and for the ramen hot dog and the Gamsung hotdog (mozzarella cheese deep fried with pieces of French fried potatoes on top). Both were delicious but my favourite was definitely the ramen, it was so crunchy. You order on the right hand side of the restaurant and then wait in the line on the left hand side to receive your food (pay attention to your number as they will call it out to let you in the restaurant to pick up). Once you pick up your order you have a choice of 8 sauces. My server put a bit too much so I say less is more when it comes to sauces. They have a menu on the side with their recommendations of sauce to put on which Kogo. You also don't want to overwhelm the Kogo with too much sauce because there's so much to taste already. I put spicy mayo, mayo, and honey mustard on both of my Kogos and it was too much. The sauces were good but it just got too much. If you want to put more than one sauce, ask the server to only put a little. My friend got the volcano with chill sauce and recommends that one. He also got the ramen hot dog with spicy mayo and he said it was a bad pairing, he thought the spicy mayo would've been good on another hot dog. I also got the pineapple juice and it was pretty good! A bit ordinary but good to pair with your meal. Prices are around 4.99-6.99 per Kogo so not cheap but they are loaded so it's worth it. Lines seem long but it goes by quickly.

We arrived around 11:45 am and just in time because by noon the line was out the door. I really enjoyed the poutine and hotdogs. I loved the gravy on the poutine, it was the right consistency and full of flavor. Cheese curds were fresh and made the squishy sound against my teeth and the fries were just soft enough without being soggy. Solid poutine! I also loved their hotdogs! Their all dressed hotdogs had a chunky mustard onion topping, which I really liked. Buns were buttery and toasted rather than steamed. I only ordered one but should have ordered three, they were great. Overall I really loved the vibe in this place, food came quickly and there were lots of places to sit. I did find the portions to be a bit small though. I wouldn't drive to Granby just for this place but if you are heading to the Eastern Townships or are in the area, it's worth stopping by!

The sauce was bland, cheese curds were good and fries were good. All together you get a mediocre poutine. Go to La Fromagerie in Bromont. 100x better.

The decor is spot on Mediterranean, with their white washed wood wall, blue and sand coloured cushioned chairs, and light wood finished table tops. Their logo matches the theme of Greek history and lore too; based on the legend of Minos. I'll need to do further study on that before divulging any secrets of Zeus' family tree. With an experienced Chef, Montreal food influencer Niko Atsaidis, other dedicated management and enthusiastic staff, I have high hopes for this pristinely new spot. I mean it - their washrooms are super clean too and that's rarely the case at any restaurant. The kitchen is open and also spotlessly clean. Moreover, the ventilation is fabulous and pumps out great air flow. From how hard they've been working pre-opening, this should be an exciting addition to the quick-serve food scene in Montreal and maker of happy stomachs. The light Greek music was also a nice touch adding to the welcoming group of owners and staff behind the main counter. Now surely I was hungry from a long day, but I must say their poutine had a great scent and was truly devourable. I was still full from it and the side of hefty and peppery Loukaniko sausage, until late into the evening. They also have proper and perfectly marinated and seasoned souvlaki and gyro which are their staple dishes as their name makes clear. Their tzatziki is thicker than most (more traditional I believe) and filled with lots of tasty green bits of veggies, and happily not the ruin-your-breath-for-days garlicy or repeat-on-you-for-hours type. Their banner-style chalkboard menu is very well drawn out and focused. What they do, they want to do right, and I respect that greatly. Too many restaurants have super lengthy menus - and they can't do everything well, no matter how hard they try. Minos wants to concentrate on things they can create in-house and source with high quality. Their Greek imported olive oil is a big time standout and according to the 'chalk talk' note on the board - beer and wine are on their way. Rumour has it they will be Greek imports - so bravo on that upcoming addition. I look forward to trying other items, especially the veggie ones and honey drizzled dessert. Good luck Minos - show 'em how it's done! PS I will mention the fries are not hand cut and the cheese curds are not the squeakiest - at least at the time of opening and not five stars, but the brown sauce, Loukaniko, olive oil, decor and service are all worthy of the five, I will leave it as such.
