We ended up here after seeing our breakfast/brunch spot was closed on Tuesdays. Clearly this should have been our original destination. Looks like an office building from outside-anything but as you enter into a cool Bar area. A couple of levels with various seating areas (I.e private dining rooms). Had the Power work lunch vibe going for it. Although casual better to dress up than down-just that kind of place. Prix Fixe lunch with a few desirable options for the courses. We ordered a Tarama Salata for sharing-Milo's version was tasty and on the milder side. First course starters were Grilled Octopus (Sashimi quality) and Calamari- both were enjoyed. Presentation was "Let's just look at it and not eat" level. Second course was Dorade Royal (Sea Bream), Double Bone Lamb Chop (perfect medium rare and delicious) and I got the Tuna Burger. I haven't had many Tuna Burgers but this has to be the best one yet. So good it made me consider giving up Beef Burgers! & the Zucchini fries were so much better than potato fries. Dessert was Walnut Cake and Baklava Ice Cream. Cake was tasty and the Ice cream was a first as we we all had the Pastry version only-delicious! Service was exceptional from beginning to end. We got lucky to walk in and get a table without a reservation. They use their own Milo's EVOO (early harvest) which is a nice touch. Looks like they have other locations in a handful of major cities. Exquisite Greek dining in elegance. From the moment we walked in, I could tell I was in for a treat. The beautiful fresh flowers at the front were just the beginning. The ambiance and decorations are lovely and transport you into an elegant world with large urns, white drapes, spiral staircases leading to multiple levels of cozy dining areas, artwork, and more. Even the bathroom had fresh flowers. The menu is filled with delectable options from steak, lambchops, some vegetarian options, but mostly seafood: oysters, caviar, lobster, crab cakes, octopus, calamari and several kinds of fresh fish. Our server took us to the seafood counter where several kinds of fresh fish were on ice: swordfish, tuna, salmon, red snapper, flounder, cod, halibut and others. We chose a fish large enough for our party of three, and had an appetizer of bread with olive oil and calamari. Everything was cooked and seasoned to perfection. I felt no need to add salt, and though I am a fan of enjoy spicy foods, this was just perfect. We had some vegetables to accompany the fish and they were also excellent. For dessert, I ordered the baklava, which came with ice cream. The service was impeccable and attentive. I would love to take my wife here for a romantic dinner, though it was equally appropriate for a business dinner or a special time among friends, as was my case this time. If you are looking to come here just be advised that it's expensive and you would absolutely need a reservation. Also if you get a reservation don't choose to be seated at the bar. It's very uncomfortable and thigh. Also we felt like there was a ligering bad smell that was coming and going threw out our time at the restaurant, I'm not sure if they have sewer issues but it was disgusting. When we got there, and got seated, we felt like we weren't important enough to be greeted by the bartender or even a waiter for almost 15 mins. Im not sure if its because looked young or something. We didn't even get a drink or food menu and we were asked what we wanted to drink. The drinks were really good and I felt like they put a good amount of alcohol. The salmon sashimi was really good and very fresh. We got the fried zucchini and eggplant with tsatsiki, it was very good. Definitely a must order We also got the octopus, it was very tender and juicy...it came with a side of hummus which was disgusting. And finally we got the lobster pasta, this was not good at all and it costed us 92$, the pasta didn't have any flavor, there was 4 pieces of tiny lobsters in the pasta. The pasta was Market price, it's our fault for not asking the price e before ordering it but I've never in my life would think it would cost 92$, if I knew I would have never ordered it, I'm not really sure how it was okay for them to charge that much. We even complained about not liking the pasta to the waiter and he was so surprised, didn't even care and offered us Tabasco, I've never heard anyone putting Tabasco on a pasta before. The Scarlet Vetter says....wow. Just wow. Beautiful ambiance, stunningly presented food, excellent and knowledgeable service. A panapoly of flavors, often exquisite and robust in the same dish. We started with a beautiful bottle of Ant Hill Pinot Noir and a crusty flavorful bread with first cold pressed extra virgin olive oil with fresh oregano cut into the oil. Who said woman cannot live on bread and wine! Then we transitioned to 30 g of ossetra caviar from the Noir Caviar Company with fresh, plump, homemade blini and the usual trimmings of egg white shavings, crumbled egg yolk, tiny cut chives, and Creme Fraiche. Next, thinly shaved zucchini and eggplant crisps with fresh homemade tzatziki sauce--a house specialty. The best. Then followed by grilled octopus with a smooth and silky fava bean puree dressed with thin shaved red onion and fresh parsely. Then the Sepia dressed with olive oil and fresh sprouts with a big dollop of squid ink risotto. The Sepia was outstanding. The Risotto was crunchy and waaaaay underdone. The kitchen remedied this immediately and thanked us for bringing it to their attention. They, without our saying anything, took the Sepia dish off the bill AND later brought out a generous helping of the Risotto, beautifully cooked. Then North Carolinian Sea Bass. This meal was a dream, where the whole was greater than the sum of its parts. First: the lobster salad. For a dish that has less than 10 ingredients, it's a knockout. Milos is a staple in the Montréal culinary community, so I wanted to write this review -- this is based on a late lunch, for a table of 3, during the week. We made a reservation prior to our visit, which is pretty much a standard now since COVID-19 started, as it is harder to just walk into popular restaurants. Considering Milos has a reputation for their high $$$$, their lunch menu is extremely popular as it is more affordable. (Table d'hôte $39 per person and you get 1 appetizer, main and dessert). The atmosphere is very crips, bright and open. Our actual waiter was phenomenal and we loved him very much but the front of house was a bit disorganized (for example, we made a reservation but still ended up waiting close to 25 minutes to be seated). Granted it is pandemic times, and we understand everywhere is a bit short staffed. We had a few glasses of great Greek white wines by the glass and all took the table d'hôte lunch menu. I had the grilled octopus with fava bean purée as well as grilled sea bass for my main. I passed on the dessert as I was full, but my colleagues got the Greek yogurt dessert and said they were good. Everything I had was spectacular, and I loved the bread with the Greek olive oil they serve in the beginning too. It is no surprise that Milos has its longstanding reputation with a high price point, yet customers keep coming back. Overall I thought the lunch menu price was quite a deal for the quality of service and food you receive. The À la carte menu for dinner, however, is much steeper and will definitely hurt your wallet a little bit. But Milos is a classic and a guarantee that you'll have a great meal with great service. I wouldn't personally say this is the number one Greek restaurant ever, but you should definitely try it once and compare for yourself! read more

Getting a reservation here on a Friday night was no easy task. Getting there was no easy task as well since there was a fire on that street and they blocked it all down! Yet we made it and we're so happy we did. Let me start with service because it was amazing and super friendly, everyone leaving like they made friends with the hostess . Seafood definitely one of the best we ever had, the Sea-bass was lightly seasoned but yet we didn't add anything to it while eating. Milos special is extra special, hubby doesn't eat eggplant yet munched it all! Second time at this restaurant and I still believe that this is the best restaurant in Montreal. They have changed their menu so it was nice to try some different things. The Lavraki cevice was perfectly balanced. The milos special was excellent. The cured fish platter was amazing - I was really pleasantly surprised. The sashimi was good but would not order again. The fried calamari were good but also would skip it the next Time. The Greek salad was very fresh ans tasty. However the best dish is definitely the lamb chops. Do not leave here without trying it. The lamb chops itself was good but nothing spectacular in taste. It also wasn't the largest chop and had less fat than I'd prefer. My aunt's fish was good. Just olive oil and lemon on it; simple. Finish the meal off with ice cream and baklava, neither of which were impressive. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated and our waiter was magnificent (except when it came time to pay as that took him quite a while...). Amazing lunch deal. I lived a minute away from Milos for over a year but I thought it was all "hype" so I wasn't too tempted to try it. I'm glad my friends said we had to go because the interior design transported me to warmer lands and the dishes were extremely fresh and satisfying. If you're not sure that you're a fan of oysters get the three oyster appetizer! They were perfect; the right amount of salt without being "fishy." The Greek Spreads is also a safe and versatile bet for an appetizer. I had a bite of my friend's salmon and it was probably the best cooked salmon I've ever had. My salmon tartare was good and everything I was expecting from a salmon tartare. You MUST get the baklava ice-cream. No question. You MUST! The crunchy baklava folded into the creamy ice-cream was a delight. Overall, I really enjoyed my meal and the lunch price for the high-quality fare is hard to beat. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to enjoy fresh food in a classy setting and I hope to go back and try their dinner menu. The only downsides were related to service. I think it could have been a training day. It took a long time for our orders to be taken and I was left thirsty a few times. My order ticket was left on my plate. Milos was highly recommended by an acquaintance and it didn't disappoint. So far, the best meal of our trip. We got the prix fixe lunch and tried the grilled octopus, sea bream, salmon, walnut cake and Milos famous baklava ice cream. Every dish was delicious and beautifully presented but the grilled octopus was the star. The staff was very attentive, coming by frequently with water. Wanting to show off Montreal's best, our friend reserved a table for lunch at this famous Greek restaurant known for super fresh fish on the first day of our visit. What a lovely experience: from finding parking practically outside the restaurant, the classy, elegant decor, the vibrant color vegetable fish display, the superb professional service, and of course the perfectly prepared food. The 3-course lunch special for $38 CAD ($30 USD) a person on weekdays was definitely a bargain for high quality seafood. Both the salads and the bream fish were fresh, flavorfully seasoned and beautifully plated. The special order of delicious lightly fried zucchini and eggplant had a marvelous mouth feel. Great restaurant. I would highly recommend it. However, I would advise going for their after 10pm special. The after 10 special costs around $25 and comes with an appetizer, main and dessert. The night started with one of the waiters bringing us bread. He then poured olive oil in a dish located in the middle of the table. Upon pouring, the oil splashed and landed on my button-downed shirt. I had to flag this before any action was taken by our original waiter. His replacement quickly brought me a cup of water and a cloth to dab it out of my shirt. Thankfully, it came out. For the appetizer, I opted for the salmon sashimi. It was quite delicious and very flavourful. My friend ordered the Milos tasting dip which was also delicious. After finishing the pita bread and still having some dip remaining, one of the many waiters came to offer if we'd like the have some more (which we accepted ). We both originally ordered the dorado fish until we were told that they did not have any left. Instead, they offered us the choice of the lavraki fish (we were told that it was of better quality and bigger, so we agreed). The lavraki did not disappoint at all, it was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The one negative remark that I would make is that it only came with a single piece of broccoli, would've liked to have a couple more. For dessert, since we both wanted to have the raspberry sorbet as well as the baklava, our waiter offered to bring both! The sorbet was amazing and so was the baklava (might've been a little too sweet but was still delicious). All in all, I would highly recommend this restaurant (after 10pm of course. Absolutely incredible! I live in Miami Beach, where there is an outpost, but had never been. I just couldn't fathom how exquisite food can be until I dined at the original. We had a noon reservation for lunch and the restaurant filled up quickly. The staff here is a tad more formal than I found at other Montreal fine dining establishments, but were happy to accommodate our fish-peeping and photo taking. We started with a dry Greek sparkling wine. I was a little hungover from the previous debauched night out, so I had just a sip and was impressed. We next had a sampling of 5 oysters from different regions in the area, ranging from PEI to Maine. They arrived on a bed of ice with all of their liquor and were fresh and delicious. Following the oysters was the grilled octopus. Unreal! It had a wood-grilled smoky flavor and was incredibly tender. We next went with the prix-fixe lunch; 3 courses for CA$25. We started with lentil soup, smoked salmon and salmon tartare. All were fresh and beautifully presented. Two in our party then had the lamb chops; two had the whole white fish and one had the tuna burger. The tuna burger was ordered solely for the side of fried zucchini and was the only miss of the day, as it was a bit dry and probably not the best way to experience fresh fish. I didn't try the lamb chops, but the fish was perfectly cooked and seasoned. A delight! We all finished with the baklava ice cream, the taste of which I can still recall! My only complaint was that the restaurant got loud. We were in a corner with poor acoustics and was also significantly warmer around our table than in the rest of the room. Tip: If money IS an object, check out this place for their Lunch/Late Dinner (after 10pm, 3-course) prix fixe menu! Late Dinner (~$25) fixed price was quite reasonable for the quality of food served. Outside is very minimalistic, but the inside was bustling and much fancier feeling. Dress up, a bit, unless you can impress with your wallet! Waiters are very unpretentious though and do make you feel a bit important...despite ordering from the "special menu". For a Late Dinner, on a Saturday night, place was almost full and it was LOUD. I don't remember any discernible music, but atmosphere was loud with the chattering of the guests. Everything was good, although there are some stand-outs out of the courses, namely: Greek salad (looked soo fresh!) as App, Borade as the Main, and the Baklava...soo good! The EVOO that was served with the bread was also very memorable. The only thing that was iffy were the zucchini "fries" that came as a side with the Tuna Burger. Fries were more of a shoestring and they were too greasy and limp. Came to Milos on a Thursday night around 11pm for their late night menu (available Thur to Sat 10pm-midnight). For those not from Montreal and don't have a car, the restaurant is difficult to reach via metro and easier by bus. Was seated at the bar as a single diner. Service was OK as bartender was busy fulfilling other orders. No cocktail menu. For the late night menu: for $25.16 you get a starter (salmon, salad or Greek platter) and a main (tuna burger, lobster pasta, filet mignon, dorade fish) followed by dessert (baklava or ice cream). I went with the organic salmon sashimi, filet mignon steak (was $10 extra upgrade) and baklava. The salmon sashimi was good but nothing special. The pieces were small and thin. The filet mignon was cooked to perfection (medium rare) and came with the big pieces of broccoli and perfectly oven roasted potatoes. Note portion size on both the appetizer and main were towards the smaller side. The baklava was pretty boring. For those who want to save some money and still have a nice meal, the Milos late night specials are for you. Otherwise, I would pass. The Lemeac late night menu is far better. read more

Absolute Montreal gem. Never knew about this place until a recent dinner date. The warehouse ceiling seems endless but the spaciousness of this venue offer comfort in spacing as well as the space to take in everything happening. There is ample outdoor seating as well and the bar seems like its on the other end of street. This place is vast. Opaque white drapes that adorned one area were a gorgeous accent. There was a moderate level of guest when we arrived but within an hour almost every table was occupied. You could tell there were plenty of regulars by how the staff addressed them.. impressive. We ordered several appetizers with a delicious bottle of white. Be warned, the servings here are generous. I got the lobster salad because I knew we had enough appetizers but an entire giant lobster came with the salad stuffed between. I couldn't finish. The staff was nothing short of excelsior. If you want fancy Greek food this is the place to go! The first time I came to this restaurant was for MTL a Table a few years ago. I just remember that the grilled octopus was very good but the steak I had was just ok. I went back Tuesday for MTL a table and it was my favorite MTL a table this year by far! By the way they don't have butter in case you don't like bread with olive oil. I however really enjoyed their olive oil and asked for more of it. Again I had the grilled octopus starter and it was just as good as I had remembered. My aunt enjoyed it too. The octopus was delicious. The grilled octopus was on a bed of onions and capers and olive oil. The grilled lamb was amazing!!! I asked for it to be cooked medium rare. It was so juicy and salted. It came with broccoli and potatoes. My aunt had the grilled salmon. She found it was a little undercooked inside but she did ask for medium and she doesn't eat raw fish. Also one time I went with two of my friends and one of them ordered a whole fish and he kept spitting out the scales!! Scales!! OMG the horror!! Despite that I'm still giving it five stars because what I ate at Milos was fabulous. Plus it was probably an off night that one time because the last time I went I saw some people ordered a whole fish and it seemed fine...there was no scales whatsoever. Oh by the way, the wine menu consists only of Greek wine. I tried two different red wines and they weren't bad at all. For dessert I had the baklava duo. The baklava was the best I ever had. Unless you're a millionaire that loves fish, perhaps Milos isn't the place for you. They do seafood/fish very well and you can certainly get rare catches you wouldn't get elsewhere. Once you go out of the sea realm, Milos' offering is average at best. By far the toughest thing to swallow over there is the bill; their prices are monstrous considering the quality of the food you're getting. Bottomline is that you really are paying for the decor and the atmosphere (and it's quite nice, it is an institution after all) because even the service is a little uneven. Their Sunday night $55 menu might be worth it, especially for fish lovers. Expect to pay a little over SAQ x 3 prices for wine. To be honest Milos is a little dépassé; resting on their laurels while there are many good restaurants in Montreal that deserve your attention. read more

This was more of a 3 1/2 star review for me but rounded it up to a 4... not that Milos needs my pity, they seem to be doing very well for themselves. 5/5 for decor, it's a beautiful space filled with beautiful people and makes you feel fancier just by being here. It is a bit of a scene, so depends on whether you like that or not. We were there for New Year's Eve so it was nice to have a little bit of a glamorous evening. 4/5 for the food, we had a variety of appetizers, including the calamari, octopus, and various salads. Everything was very fresh and well prepared but nothing really blew me away. For our main our group shared a market price fish, it was brought whole to the table and was expertly deboned and perfectly cooked. The Greek wine from Santorini was excellent. 3/5 for value. As others have noticed, it's ridiculously overpriced for what it is. I've had equally good Greek food at other high end Greek restaurants for half the price. 3/5 for service. Our waiter was borderline rude and condescending. He forgot one of our appetizers and shrugged when we asked about it and said it would turn up with the main course. Unimpressed with the attitude although he was very knowledgeable about the menu. The front of house staff and sommelier were all very pleasant to deal with. It's a Montreal institution, and I'm glad I went. I don't think I'd go back unless it was on someone else's dime though. You can get the same quality food for half the price with much friendlier service at places like Ikanos. If you want a beautiful place to see and be seen and money is no object, then you will enjoy Milos. We went for lunch, but it was a great experience ! Service was really good. The food was amazing and such a good portion !!! We had salmon tartar, smoked salmon, tuna burger and lamb chops. Even the cocktails are delicious !!! Would love to go back for dinner !!! read more

The food and ambiance were fantastic! However, our waitperson, Mishan, was disappointing. She forgot to bring our cocktails (but still charged us for them) and even rolled her eyes when we followed up on them. The starts were delicious (try the grilled octopus). She kind of disappeared after that so we never ordered entrees and got another eye roll when we asked for the check. And this was a Monday....
