For decades this restaurant has been well known for good meals at a moderate price (for Alghero).
Traditionally the Lanterna is a Pizzeria the pizza is fantastic, made in the wood stove. There is also the usual offer of pasta and fish. What I highly recommend though, are the different kinds of starters which you can choose from the vitrine and the monzette a special kind of snail which is cooked with lots of salt in the oven. They don't always have them, just ask for them. It is worth a try!
The ambiance is quite modern, the restaurant is situated a litte outside the old town, about 10 minutes to walk from there. There is also a terrace if you wish to dine outside. read more
