Well built and beautifully decorated with woven baskets and clay statues. The four of us sat at solid wood table in a dinning room of several tables. As soon as we were comfortable we were offered an included bottle of Sardinian wine, red or white. Then the food started to flow. Since it is a price fix undisclosed menu each course was a surprise. It started with fresh vegetable crudités and some ham, then the cheese course of hard and soft cheeses. A honey ricotta was just so delicious. Then the charcuterie course of prosciutto, serano and wild boar was served. Several other courses followed but I won't describe them so as not to spoil your experience. Everything was perfectly prepared and served with a relaxed efficiency. The wine was excellent and when we finished it were ordered a different, even better, Sardinian wine. Everyone enjoyed this unique experience and best of all was the price! Only 238€, about $280, for 4 people which in a US city would be anywhere from $500 and up. If you are in Alghero definitely treat yourself to Sa Madra. We will be back!

Ambiance was nice. You don't get a sea view but what you do get is a cave-like old-timey nook. We've done the dinner by the sea on this trip but if you're going for the food, this is the place to go to. The chef even came out to make sure everything was good and to me that shows how much they care about customer satisfaction. We left completely satisfied and can't wait to go back.

They do have an indoor section as well as a completely outdoor section too. We got the spaghetti vongole, the ravioli, two oysters and tiramisu for dessert. The oysters were much different than the oysters I'm used to back in the States but still super fresh and refreshing. The spaghetti vongole was delicious. It was made very simply with really nice olive oil, plenty of clams, and sprigs of parsley. It could've used a little bit of parmesan on top but it also had plenty of flavor on its own. My sister enjoyed her ravioli and said the prawn was one of the best she's ever had and she wished there were more! We both loved the tiramisu too. It didn't have a ton of espresso flavor but I actually liked that. I would definitely come back to Chalet in the future. The prices are reasonable, the atmosphere is nice, the food seemed authentic, and the staff was friendly enough.

OK Pizza is literally as cheap as chips. The restaurant opens at 7pm. It's very clean and tidy. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The selection of pizzas is huge, about 50 different options! You're sure to find something you love. Even so, they are more than happy to customise for you! The only downside is the base is a bit bland on its own. After our meal, even though we were stuffed to the bone, we were served complementary pizza bread and Nutella and a couple of Italian and Sardinian liqueurs. It was a little off the beaten path but totally worth it. The pizza was fantastic, the price very reasonable and they added a great touch at the end by giving us limoncello and Nutella-dipped pizza dough. Nice. We actually loved it so much that we went back a couple of nights later for delivery to our hotel, Sa Cheya (which I would also highly recommend, by the way). It's not the closest hotel to Alghero so we were really impressed they delivered to us when other places would not. The pizza was again, fantastic. Still hot and tasty with our customisations despite the 5km journey. Yum. So we went back AGAIN tonight, which brings us to now. The ambiance is nice, not too loud (unless there are Russians eating there, which happened to us on two consecutive evenings). The outdoor seating is great! The food is good and consistent. Some of the best fried calamari I've ever had. A must try! Seafood pastas are also well prepared and super fresh. As a big pizza fan, I can say their selection can be a hit or miss. Quattro stagioni and capricciosa pizzas were good, the brick oven did a great job. But others, like franco pizza, are really bad. Not sure why, they add the bacon (which is 90% fat) under the cheese, so what you get is basically steamed, gummy fat on your pizza, not crunchy bacon as you'd expect. The watery canned mushroom aren't a winner either... But extra points for the nice staff. Would revisit.
