From communication to scheduling to finishing on time and on budget, R&M has just been incredible to work with. Construction and house projects can be a hassle, but their team provides great peace of mind in knowing that things will be done right, and they'll also take great care to make sure that your property is kept as clean as possible, even during some intensive work. Other contractors we've used have overpromised and underdelivered, but R&M has overdelivered, and they've also made sure to explain things every step of the way so that we were never in the dark. The quality of the work is great, as are Rob, Andrew and the entire team at R&M. We'd highly recommend using them for your project, and we'll continue using them for each of ours.

I have a long history with this company, and I feel I can rely on them for thorough and honest…read moretesting and reporting. As far back as 1995, we hired former owner and founder Peter Sierck to do a thorough assessment of our home in West Torrace. We had large patches of black mold in closets, behind furniture, condensation on the inside of windows into the late afternoon and damp carpets. Our home was built on a slab and when El Nino 94-95 slammed us with water. We had standing water wicking into the wall cavities, ET&T helped us find out. They drilled a hole in the slab to see if there was water pressure, took air samples and mold cultures from all affected areas, and provided detailed reports and candid advice. One thing I really like about this company is they do not do any remediation. That allows them to deliver an honest report whether test results are good, bad or indifferent. In 2022, I was smelling some strange odors in my current house and called ET&T to to a thorough test. Even though I now live in Menifee, over an hour from Encinitas where ET&T is based, they were able to serve my needs. This time around, Andrew, the current owner who was trained by Peter, and hs associate Brad came out to do the inspection. The test was free of any mold issues, thankfully. Once again, they were very thorough and provided detailed reports. Last update, I noticed last week (March 2023) that my engineered hardwood floors were black and starting to warp in a small area in one of the bedrooms. Even though I didn't have a current job with them, Andrew took my call late on a Friday afternnon, and made time to look at the photos I shared, and also donated his time to recommend what I needed to do, and didn't ask for a fee. If you have any mold you want tested, these guys are the best. Don't put your health at risk with an untrained plumber or worse yet, handyman, both of whom will have a vested interest in signing you up for remediation when there might not be a need.

My husband and I recently found what we thought would be our dream home. We were about to finalize the sale until the inspector found some strange looking growth in the crawl space above the garage. He wasn't a mold expert but he said he was 90% sure it was mold. We spoke with the owner of the home and they were willing to pay for the mold testing if we were able to find a good company. I asked around and a few people recommended ET&T. I gave them a call and explained our situation. They reassured me that they would definitely be able to determine if it was mold growing and also told us that they knew a few reputable mold removal companies who could take care of fixing the mold damage if the tests came back positive. We were in a rush so they were able to send a testing specialist out that same day. 48 hours later the test results came back, positive. They gave us the number of a mold remediation company who was able to get rid of all the mold so that we could proceed with the home purchase. We just moved into the home and I feel so much better knowing that our dream home is mold free!

When we were told that we might have white mildew and/or black mold in our attic, we knew that some…read morerestoration companies will "find" mold or mildew even if it's not there. Our search for an honest company led us to West Coast, and we hoped the reviews were true. The good news is, West Coast is as honest as it gets. Askia came out and looked around the attic while I watched from the ladder. First, he showed me that the supposed mildew was some sort of harmless sandy clay-ish material. And the supposed black mold was just "lumber mold", an industry term for "stain fungi"--the common dark streaks in lumber that originate at the sawmill or in the forest, don't weaken the lumber, and are not indications of moisture. Who knew? Well, Askia knew. And he actually spent time convincing me that we didn't need their services. So do I recommend them to you? You betcha! An honest company is a joy to find.

Boy, was I thankful that I found Rich on Google, as he saved me thousands of dollars in potential issues that were completely missed by the other inspection company... It turns out that the previous inspection company did not even get under the crawl space and missed about $5-10k+ in plumbing repairs that were actively leaking, and Rich really saved our bacon. Also, in comparing the reports, Rich's report was also much more thorough and provided diagrams with red arrows and circles on all of the main issues - It was night and day better than the other company's report. When I initially called Rich, I could immediately tell that he was not only knowledgeable, but he was extremely genuine and easy to talk to - Rich truly cares about his profession and goes out of his way in order to make sure that you're being represented fairly... Rich was LEAPS and BOUNDS better than the other inspection company and is also a Certified CREIA Inspector which is huge. In addition, Rich did a full walkthrough with us on the property and took as much time as we needed to help us know that the property was mechanically sound - He also was available at any time to take my calls and was able to get out there within 24hrs, but also had the report over to us within 24hrs of completion which was AMAZING!!
