Mofongo de amarillos relleno de corned beef, with white rice and pink beans. Delicious!

Came in for lunch as they have lunch specials. Not too busy, good service, and food was delicious. I had the mofongo de amarillos relleno de corned beef, with white rice and habichuelas rosadas. Delicious! I highly recommend this place.

We came to this place by recommendation and we were positively impressed. Service acceptable as well as pricing and portions. Food quality and taste was very good, simply delicious with a great deal of options. Would come back !

It was good but not amazing... I had the pollo empanado de plátano and it was good! Nice and crispy. My boyfriend ordered a mignon de cerdo in tamarind sauce, it was good also.. We both ordered mamposteao (one with blk beans and another with white beans, yes u can choose what bean u like which is cool) imagining it has to be awesome when the name of the restaurant is habichuela guisa and they have dancing beans all over the place but it was ok, nothing out of the ordinary. The mojito were good (I've had better but also I've had worse) Good service and generous amount of food.

With a name which translates to "the stewed bean" I didn't expect much more than cocina criolla, but this establishment is so much more. It has indoor and outdoor bars/dining areas, a wine cave room, and a performance stage. Happy hour drinks start at $3 and happy hour prices extended until closing tonight. Their appetizers are delicious and humongous, but try and save some appetite for their main entrees, also generously sized. I loved their chorizo sautéed in red wine and the fried cheese with guava sauce among the appetizers we sampled. My girlfriend and I shared the mero empanado con pllatano (fried grouper fillet battered with plantain masa) and my sister had the fish ceviche appetizer with a side of yucca mofongo which was enough to share. We still pushed through satiety and concluded the meal with creme brûlée and guava flan and espresso coffee. We then moved to their outdoor bar area where we enjoyed a live performance by the superb duo of Maribel Delgado, a master cuatro and guitar artist, who accompanied a wonderful vocalist, Celenia, and they played two sets of lively Puerto Rican and Latin American popular songs with a lot of audience participation, including singing along, some dancing, and even a guest that played the bongo!

Authentic homemade food. Everything was fresh and delicious! The drinks were excellent also. I had a sangría and it was outstanding. As appetizer, we had the sorullitos and they were the perfect blend of flavors. The meal was just the right amount: I was able to finish it, but didn't have room dessert. The ambiance is fun, the decor is super cute. This is a place you want to re-visit because everything in the me u looks good!

We arrived at 11am on a Monday because that's when we thought they opened. They actually opened at 11:30am, so we were 2nd in line at 11am. Once 11:30am rolled around, the line was very long. It's an old house that was transformed into a restaurant. It's pretty big in there and they have an upstairs as well. It really feels like you're eating in a Caribbean home, from the colorful tablecloth to the things on the tables. The menu is on a board, and they have a Spanish and English version. They give you a cup of complimentary plantain soup which was amazing. We also ordered the fried cheese app which came with a delicious guava sauce. For mains, I had the fried pork with tostones and my husband had the mamposteado (corned beef, fried eggs, and rice). My husband cleaned his plate, while I took leftovers back to the hotel (which we actually ate later because it was that good). They were out of tres leches that day, so we had the coconut pudding for dessert. It was my first time trying coconut pudding and it did not disappoint! For drinks, we had the passionfruit sangria. When we left, there was a very long line outside. Despite the line, they did not rush us out. Definitely recommend and would go out of my way to come back next time I'm in PR.

They are open 24/7 and deliver on Uber Eats so you have no excuse not to get you some. The bacalaitos were delicious! Chewy and tender and perfectly fried. Generous portion. Enough to share, although if you reach over here you might pull back a nub. Moving on... The rice and beans. Savory, saucy delicious carbs. What's not to love? Amarillos/platanos/fried sweet plantain (whatever you want to call them)... Yum!! Mind you, they're not caramelized like their Jamaican or Trinidadian counterparts... So adjust your expectations accordingly. I had some cilantro crema leftover from another meal that I thought would be good with them... And I was so right. And last, but certainly not least... The flan de coco. I love flan, but I've never had coconut flan... Until now. Easily one of the best flans I've ever had and probably the best dessert I've had out of all of my trips to Puerto Rico. Ok, I gave y'all all the information you need to know about this place. Why are you still reading this? Go get you some! And if you don't, that's fine too... I'll just eat your share. We waited a long time for water, the appetizer came after the main dishes, and no one checked on us. We had to ask multiple employees just to get water once the food arrived. The food was the biggest disappointment. The churrasco plantain sandwich was dry and flavorless. The mofongo and yuca with chicken were bland, and the chicken was tough and needed seasoning. The staff was polite, but not attentive. Being told the tip was "15% no less" at the end didn't sit right either. There are too many great Puerto Rican options out there -- we won't be back.

But not strong with Don Q so if u like it strong u may want to order an extra shot.

Location/Service ***** Casita Martell is tucked away into a big hill, surrounded by flamboyan trees, and a beautiful view of the sunset! It looks smaller than it is, they have indoor and outdoor dining. Our server was really good, my children don't speak Spanish and our waiter spoke English so it was nice for them to communicate directly. Drinks *** We ordered pina coladas and sadly they did underwhelm a bit. I was expecting it to be a bit more icy and it was more creamy, the heat outside did not work well with a creamy drink. Food **** The plate food (bistek, pork chop, rice, beans) was to good, nothing over the top but not bad, just a good, flavorful meal. The octopus salad was also decent, nice flavor, but I don't think it was fresh, it tasted like the octopus you get out of a can. The shrimp . . . THE SHRIMP! Now those blew my mind! Absolute MUST order. The rellenos de papa were also super delicious! I wish I would've just ordered a tons of those! I'm already looking forward to my next trip back to PR to get some more!

Parking can be a bit tedious but I lucked out with one right in front of it. Ambiance is nice and warm. Seems that there's some trend with some of these newer restaurants to make some sort of more private area for groups bigger than 8, as I saw at least one room that was separated by a glass door, assuming to drown out the noise. Appetizers came out quick. Had the sorullitos and the fried cheese. Sorullitos were okay - I've had much nicer ones. The guava sauce for the queso frito was very good. I will admit that the portion size was great. Main dishes were not spectacular. The stuffed mero with shrimp probably was the best tasting and presented. The kids liked their churrasco but their mofongo, just like my bifongo, was just dry. Very dry and tough in terms of texture. We had to order some garlic sauce so the kids would be able to eat theirs and there was an upcharge for that but it was either that or them not eating. My dish was not appetizing in terms of presentation - just looks like things were thrown around, and the taste was a bit bland. I had some arroz mamposteado as well which was better, but nowhere near expectations. Pretty place with upscale pricing serving subpar food. Would try again one more time to see if it was a one-off, but not holding my breath.
