it's on the 50 best discovery list, it really does not disappoint. but highly recommend to make a reservation, i saw people got turned away without reservation even they were waiting at the door before it's open. The restaurant offers good amount of traditional dishes from this region. the pasta is great, Bis di tortelli (Erbetta & Zucca): really good flavor a good vegetarian option with zucchini and pumpkin Tagliatelle al ragù di strolghino di culatello: very flavorful and a lot of meat . Horsemeat steak is very tender cooked to perfection. The service was great, the restaurant inside looks pretty traditional with big exposed beams. quiet too, easy to have a conversation

36m parma ham and 30m parmigianno reggiano

Parma ham (36 month proscuitto) and the parmigiano regianno (30 month) with balsalmic were the stars of the meal. Imagine your ideal proscuitto--nutty, salty, dry, complex--and that was it. In comparison to the store-bought variety, this proscuitto had a more toothsome texture and subtle aftertaste. The cheese was delicious (coming from a person who usually dislikes cheese), and the balsalmic really brought out the dry, nutty, and floral notes. There was almost none of that sweet milk fat flavor characteristic of younger cheeses due to the aging time. The pasta: disappointingly bland; the meat was overcooked and underseasoned and the pasta tasted more like egg noodles than wheat pasta. It's sad to say that I've had better pasta in the States... Also, I usually don't say anything negative about service, but the waiters seemed very impatient and almost condescending with us? I don't know if it's just because of the language barrier (tbh I'd hate on tourists too lol)

Wonderful fresh made pastas. Nice decor with linen tablecloths, etc. Ambience is special occasion, but prices are very reasonable.

Overall an excellent meal with good flavors and presentation for a little more upscale evening out. The service was a little interesting hence down one notch. Seemed to be a mix of locals and tourists. Four of us started out with antipasto selections of Parma ham and parmigiano reggiano. Both were excellent with tender, non-fatty meat and tasty cheese with a drizzle of quality balsamic. The bottle of local lambrusco (€14) was a nice complement. I think we threw the waiter off a little when we indicated we were sharing the rest of the dishes as he muttered something and it took quite a while to get the rest of our dinner when many other plates went by on a regular basis. Our tortellini with nettles, broad beans, kale and pesto was tasty but pretty lukewarm as our friend's tagliolini pasta came out steaming hot. Confit Pork filet with pecan sauce and crispy celery was fantastic flavor and very tender so a good choice. Other entree of stuffed veal with roasted potatoes was very good also. They served us a small platter of complimentary dessert treats which was a nice touch! One interesting twist was when we went to pay we got a receipt and thought that was our credit card receipt but the cashier got a little upset as was expecting us to write down our tip, on top of the €2.50 each pane e coperto charge each. Seemed a little strong arm but overall it did not detract too much from a decent evening. Came to €52 a couple including the wine but only one appetizer, one primi and one second course per couple.

We were greeted by friendly staff and escorted to our table. Both Italian and English menus were available. The restaurant is small and nicely decorated. Bread and breadsticks were given. We ordered a bottle of wine and checked out the menu. Our server was nice and helped us with choosing food items. The first course was Antipasto dello Zingaro. ( Cold meats ) Our second course was Tortelli di Erbette. (Ravioli stuff with spinach and Parmesan cheese) which was the best Ravioli we have ever had. Next was new meat for us to try. HORSE MEAT. Tris di Cavallo. Presented 3 ways. RAW. Roasted and Tartare. We liked the first two. But the Tartare was not for us. This dish came with roast potatoes. The restaurant got busy during our visit. I would recommend making a reservation. The decor was fresh and clean. With many Italian fixtures. The noise level was low when we visited, but sure, it could be higher on the weekends. We highly recommend a visit or two.

I had the pumpkin gnocchi with truffles - they were perfect. Also tried the pasta fagioli, which was delicious as well (reminded me of my grandmother's!) The tiramisu was light and creamy. I'd go back again and again! The wait staff were so kind as well. I do not speak Italian and was fumbling through using Google translate and they were very patient and gracious. (Note: the menu is in italian so you'll need to translate it if you don't speak the language). We were also given plenty of time to sit and chat and enjoy a leisurely meal. No rush to leave. I loved this restaurant and highly recommend it!

VERy simple, and I mean 1980's restaurant style in Italy. It was all grannies and Italian families on the Saturday that we were there. The place is bigger than it looks, with an outside garden and main dining room. The kitchen is bustling with Italian ladies who look like they were born making fresh pasta, which I loved. The menu offers typical favorites like prosciutto (we are in Parma!) torta fritta which are pillows of fried dough so good you'll eat them all. We followed that with two heaping (huge portions) of pasta, I got a ravioli stuffed with herbs and cheese and covered in a parmigiana, which was very light (satire). There is a guy with a bollito cart (boiled meats) that was kind of hilarious, I mean how many times in your life are you going to see some dude carting around a selection of meats in broth from table to table, that's Italy. We ordered the house lambrusco which frankly sucked but house wine can do that, my recommendation get a bottle. Awesome experience, very old-school, I'd wager this place is a bit of a find among locals. I wouldn't recommend this for a romantic date because of the bright lighting but they are very dog-friendly, in fact I think they preferred our dog over us. Ginger wins them all..

The restaurant is located in a piazza below the street along with a supermarket. The service was excellent. Our servers could speak English so that helped us. A seating area and a bar are on the piazza. The area was heated. A large grill was also outside with a someone grilling meats. We sat inside at a long communal table. It had an old school Italian trattoria vibe. It was softly lit. We ordered the Lambrusco since it is the local Specialty. We were surprised that it came in a good sized bowl rather than a wine glass We actually thought it was soup lol The Lambrusco is much different in Italy. It has a light effervescence and is well bodied. The Tortellini in beef broth is also a local dish. The broth was Ric with a lot of beef flavor. The tortellini had a beef filling. It was delicious. We had pumpkin and a cheese ravioli. Both were delicious. For the entree I had the beef. It was excellent. It was very tender and had a rich gravy on top of potatoes. The roasted onion and tomato added a delicious flavor.

We enjoyed our experience at the restaurant and would keep the 5 stars, but YOUR CITY ruined it and we will never come back or recommend to our friends to visit PARMA.
