My gf booked the Viaggio da Romanza for Sunday, the day after the Waterfire event but La Gondola determined the weather was going to be poor so they were nice enough to reschedule the romance package one day prior, which they don't normally offer on Waterfire Saturdays. I really appreciated how they went out of their way to rebook the date since a romance package in the rain wouldn't be so romantic, so kudos to them for making the proper adjustment. When looking for their section, just look for Cafe Nuovo and walk a little past their outdoor seating area. For the gondola ride we went with the Viaggio da Romanza which came out to $139 total plus tax and tip, tip being 15%-20% of the total cost but comes with a 40 min gondola ride, some Lindor truffles, some really amazing Sacchetti di Vino biscuits, which one of their former gondoliers makes for La Gondola, two wine glasses and a really cute picture frame with a picture they take of you right when you get on the boat. And since they don't have a liquor license, they provide you a bottle of chilled Apple Peach sparkling juice for the boat ride. Our gondelier for the night was Raffaello and he was amazing! He was super knowledgeable with the area and he sang us three really amazing songs. I also appreciated how he spoke in a very pronounced voice since he was at the back of the boat and we understood everything he said even with the surrounding noise. At the end of our ride, we asked if it was possible if we could take a photo of the three of us together and he graciously accepted. For the gondola, it's byob so if you wanted to bring a bottle of champagne or white wine, they would chill it for you but we decided to bring a bottle of red wine as well as some food from a nearby restaurant to eat on the gondola since we wanted to watch the view and to have something to snack on. I am not going to say $139 is cheap but honestly, with such a great experience and such a great gondolier with really awesome freebies and sovereigns, it is completely worth the experience especially for the amazing memories. My girlfriend and I decided to take a last minute trip and go to Rhode Island and that's how we stumbled upon this gem! First, this is one of the top things to do between yelp and trip advisor and I'm a HUGE fan of reviews! Secondly, we thought that the price was a little pricey but the second we sat on the gondola, it was totally worth it. I'm not going to spoil the whole event for you but Amadelo the gondolier, was fantastic. Very informative, friendly, knowledgeable and totally added to the wonderful experience. If I can make any other recommendation, the best time to go when you the sun is setting and you can catch the city lights.. geez I'm typing this and would do it all over again!! Ciao! read more

We greatly enjoyed our Dreams trip where Alessandro, outgoing and welcoming, entertained and educated us with the history of the area, particularly the river we were on, and the architecture of the buildings in our view during this trip. o My wife and I did the full Waterfire on Labor day 2021 (first in 2 years and dedicated to the first responders). Worried about crowds we parked in the Providence Place mall - which was free and close but a little hard to walk in/out. Found the gondola dock. Had a lovely 30 minute trip around the fires (and man, we were worried about being chilly but these fires, like the fires of Gondor, give of a lot of heat!). Lovely time. They provide an ice bucket for BYOB but we didn't partake after a day of imbibing. The gondolier was very nice and even sang at one point when we were away from the music. We had Marcello, who took us on a beautiful journey down the river and out into the open water of the inner harbor, and back again. We had the amazing experience of passing another gondolier, where Marcello and other gondolier sang an Italian duet under the bridge for full effect. Marcello also took us up the "tunnel" on our return, and sang a stunning Italian aria that left me with goosebumps and tears of joy in my eyes. Such a passionate experience. I'm surprised there hasn't been anymore reviews on this place they are amazing!!! It was such a beautiful experience. I went with my friends and had a great time with Rosario, our gondolier. He was funny, serenaded us and was very informative during the tour. He even offered us umbrellas for the ride because it was raining a bit before our ride. Luckily, the sky cleared up and the weather was perfect. I would definitely do this again and I would recommend this to everyone. It is such a great time. Oh fyi, you can bring your own bottle of wine and they will have an ice bucket to place the bottles in while on the gondola ride. Rosario even poured our first glass for us before we took off.
