Our waitress was so kind and with a little help from the Translate App we dined like Tuscans! Located in the little village of Andrea Bocelli, do yourself a favor and come on in. Very friendly staff and look forward to going back again.

There was an obvious favoritism shown to the locals as there was only one couple in the restaurant when we came in and every other table that came in after us was served, ate, drank espressos, and left BEFORE we ever had our food.

What started out as a late lunch while discovering the hillside town of Peccioli. We had ducked in to pick a few pastries from the shining cold-case, and saw that there we tables open, so we said..."Wanna...?" We were so impressed with the food, the savory waffle, the steak tartar, the cheesecake and pastries. The atmosphere and loving family service made us feel like we were locals who had stopped into our regular place. We finished with a rich cup of coffee and Ferretti's famous Biscotti. Those biscotti are sooooo delicious that we had to buy a couple of containers of them for the road.... they traveled with us throughout Italy and we hoarded them for morning coffee each day. Our waiters were the sons of the owners, and they were so charming. They shared with us some of their own travels, especially in the U.S. (our home). Our advice; roam the farmers' market in the town square and, right there, stop into Pasticceria Ferretti. They even have a nice sidewalk seating area in that pedestrian only area. P.S. The town has a great parking garage with a famous modern-art foot bridge.... memorable, photogenic!

The truffle was subtle and tasty and ravioli perfect. Spaghetti dishes were cooked perfectly with a well balanced flavour and the crunchy pizza made my son very happy. We were so impressed we had desert, berry cheesecake, chocolate profiteroles and tiramisu .. With a big selection of wines, we had a few cheeky glasses with the lunch . Management have obviously invested heavily in staff training which was evident by the quality of service and knowledge of dishes and wine. The only odd thing was the transparent chairs which we found a little strange. Regardless, I have paid a lot more for this kind of food, wine, atmosphere and service.. will definitely be back..

The dish that we all were surprised by and raved about was the Spaghetti Aglio Olio e Peperoncino. It was perfection! Simple. Flavorful. If you are ever in this area, PLEASE stop here and enjoy the experience, the food, and the people. Ciao!

A quick yelp search and we found Osteria del Mare. The restaurant is small and quaint. The service is friendly and relatively quick. Some English spoken. We managed between our weak Italian and their weak English and good Spanish. It looked like every table had the mixed seafood salad as an appetizer. Check. Giant bowl of mussels, clams, langostines, and oysters. Just get it. The Shrimp gnocchi were awesome. Homemade gnocchi that were creamy with beautiful garlicy cream sauce and super fresh shrimp. The seafood stew was the show stopper though. I was expecting a whimsy bowl of soup. Instead I got no less than 3-4 lbs of super fresh mixed seafood in a spicy tomato based broth. I looked at the waiter and asked if he left anything in the ocean. He didn't speak English but laughed and handed me a bib. Haha! There may be better food in Livorno, but this town was one and done for us. In the end it was one of the best meals of our vacation.

They are so willing to please...finding just the right wine for you (which comes from the surrounding region); checking in how you like the food they prepare with such care; and if you don't speak Italian so well, they are very gracious in practicing their English with you! While staying at the Borgo alle Vigne (Hilton Grand Vacations time share) for the week, my husband and I went back a second time to have our main meal of the day here. ALL the food we tasted was delicious! The first meal consisted of the traditional Tuscan antipasti, farfelle pasta with a wine, pecorino and leek sauce, roast pork smothered in a rich creamy lemon sauce, and for dessert we had peach tiramisu and pannacotta drizzled with a rich dark chocolate sauce. Luca chose the wine based upon our description of what we told him we liked and scored a home run. On our second visit, we asked for a good local Chianti and were very impressed with the wine Luca chose. For dinner, we had fresh sliced tomatoes (not on the menu, but they had them in the kitchen!) and an amazing grilled steak topped with arugula and ribbon cut parmesan, OMG, this dish was so delicious. We were game to try an after dinner wine called mirta, from Sardinia,,,made from Myrtle tree berries. Very unique and delicious. You can't go wrong here. Dine inside or out, weather permitting.
