Awesome service, great food, and quickly made. The guys there know we're from Texas so they've even offered some extra spice to cater to our taste in the past. That is really something! Perfect for a late night meal on your way home. I don't think I've ever seen this place actually closed. Also, killer Baklava!

This place got a lot of space, is kids friendly, and the kitchen is open (no worries, it's not smelly). And the food, well... simply very tasty and all without MSG! We ordered two starts which were a lot (size of both together was close to a main dish) and two times Pho. The soup noodles were big in size as well and the meat perfectly soft (the beef was even still a bit pink in colour when serving and thus just finish cooking in front of me in the hot soup!). At other tables we could see that the rice dishes are looking great as well... something to try bext time ;)

After a dish of…read morespaghetti with cream, pork and mushrooms, and those anti pasti before, I still celebrate them even after leaving the bistro, being in the car back home. Still at home. The Ciabatta is also good. Its one of these tender, with a thin crispy crust breads you can dip into the antipasti oil, the remaining cream after you finished mushrooms, pork and noodles. Marvelous! Even though the place is always crowded, you most often get a place for two in a short while. The most enjoyable tables (for me) are those in front of the windows. You sit on barstools and can rest your feet on the windowledge. More than 2 people are very lucky to get one of the three bigger tables. But even that should be possible. Go there !

We don't speak any German and their English was very limited so it took a bit longer for us to get situated and order. We did the best we could and thanks to the Google Translate app we got what we wanted. (And the staff their was super accommodating as we tried to navigate German!) There is a lot to choose from for vegetarians in both the sweet and savory realms. I had a Spinach Feta Tort. It was small, but the perfect size for the amount of food I typically eat at lunch...and I tried my first Franzbrötchen...the pastry that Hamburg is famous for - kind of a dense croissant with layers of sticky caramel-like cinnamon and butter binding it all together. I liked it, but had one I liked more at another spot later on this trip. My kid liked the potato omelet he got...Omelet may be a weird translation as it was more of a quiche-like slice...decent portion size and he thought it was really good. I can't stress how much they were accommodating to us English speakers with the language barrier...they really wanted to make sure we had what we wanted and took good care of us. If we were in Hamburg again, we'd definotely come back and try more of the delcious looking items on display!

These things are addicting like crack. Cafe Sul is an adorable little cafe with all kinds of delicious items such as cheesecake, custards, and assorted coffees. There are plenty of items on the menu and if anything you can just come in here to get a Pastel de nata which is a rich Portugese egg custard. If a baklava and a Chinese dan ta had a baby, you'd get a pastel de nata. The crust was crunchy, flaky, and sweet and there was more than enough custard inside to make me ooze with happiness. In fact, I haven't felt this way about a dessert since I first had a chocolate soufflé at Roy's. The chai tea latte I had was mediocre and somewhat watery and the service here was slow due to only one server working. Other than that it's a delight and I would come back to try other things.
