Back at it, and for real this time! I absolutely love this gym and have been coming here for years. It's a well-maintained, clean, and welcoming space that always delivers a great workout experience. The variety of equipment is fantastic--whether you're into lifting, cardio, or something in between, they've got you covered. There are plenty of treadmills and ellipticals, so even during peak hours, I've never had to wait. And can we talk about the sauna? It's amazing! It's such a nice way to relax after a workout and one of the reasons I keep coming back. This gym is proof that consistency and quality make all the difference. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to get their fitness on!

It's a shame. I was a member of LA Fitness 10/12 years ago and nothing has changed while I was gone. Same equipment, same dark, gloomy environment especially the pool! Yuck!

Jonathan (?) is cleaning EVERY sq ft of this group class...

Ok - I've got to admit that the only reason this club was a signature (before) is the location and towels. Used to be filthy and unorganized with some rude or pompous employees. Now, front desk peeps are friendly, and one of the workers (pretty sure his name is Jonathan) works his butt off to keep things EXTRA tidy! Best worker / cleaner they have in the entire LAF network! HE & his work ethic makes this club a signature . Couple days ago, he was scrubbing around the hot tub, today he's mopping every sq inch of the group class area! Takes pride in his work (vs it being a miserable chore) and it shows! LAF Tampa Dale Mabry sets the bar for a 5-star rating, but this place is much improved. One thing they could work on, is the trainers setting the example by putting their weights back & unracking when they're done with a machine.

On the one hand, the gym has a great variety of equipment and a friendly staff, which can make for a positive workout experience. Additionally, the aquatic center is likely a nice feature that provides a unique exercise option. However, on the other hand, the gym could use some updating and maintenance. The gym feeling like it's been left in the 90s. It's poorly maintained, rather dirty, and smelly, and detracts from the overall experience. Overall, La Fitness of Windermere has some good qualities, but there is also major room for improvement.

Sauna floor missing tile and what appears to be black mold.

Unfortunately, the Windermere LA Fitness suffers from poor management. -Poor cleaning and sanitation-everywhere -Poor machine management-can't find handles and weight pegs -Poor attitudes -Poor teenage management- it's a hang out with teens mulling around the whole gym -Extremely poor sanitary conditions in the sauna, restrooms, locker room and showers LACK OF CLEANLINESS AND HYGIENE: -Dirt caked on stair -Dirt sitting below most machines and benches -Filthy urinals and floors around urinals -Often no paper towels -Often no soap in soap dispensers -Really nasty sauna with 1/2 inch of cake/baked stuff between the wood slats of the seats -What appears to be black mold on the sauna floor -Missing floor tile in the sauna -The floor drain in the sauna is about 1/2 inch higher than the floor so that the floor cannot be properly sanitized (per the person that does it) -No fresh air vents in the sauna (Google it) -Women routinely working in the men's area It is pretty obvious that they have no professional cleaning taking place after hours. Completely mismanaged and unsanitary.

They charged me after I canceled.

Stefan the manager was extremely rude. There is a billing issue ($280 monthly charge continues even though I canceled) that I called about and he was absolutely incompetent in handling this call. Instead of hearing me out he said he wanted to get to the end of the conversation and told me he would not help me. I know other staff at the gym and reached out, they told me he is known for poor customer service. Because he was so rude and said many personal things, I am telling my friends and family to avoid this gym, and especially Stefan. The specific issue was that I canceled in December. They sent me several emails asking me to join again. Then they continued to charge me $280 for nothing. Stefan said this was my own fault because I asked to cancel my membership but I did not ask to cancel my training. He was the one who arranged this in December. I asked if I could use my training and he said no because they canceled my membership. In other words he had arranged things so I would be charged for nothing. And he called me stupid for not understanding this. This is an absolute scam. I'll include screenshots below.

I was…read morehopeful this would become my yoga studio because the location is convenient and I love having a reason to go to downtown Winter Garden To be honest, I really didn't care for the classes I went to - both 9:30 am classes with same instructor. While I still consider myself a beginner, having only practiced yoga for a few months on a regular basis, the beginner class was way too easy for me, even with a very painful hip injury. While I appreciated all the instruction and information the instructor provided, in my opinion she took so much time explaining how to do each pose between each move that I never felt like I got in a "flow". There was a lot of start/stop throughout the class - so much that I found myself getting irritated and timing how long she talked before going into a new pose. Most of the time it was between 60-90 seconds of explanation while either sitting or standing before moving on. I tried the intermediate class thinking it would be different, but I felt it was pretty much the same. (Same instructor.) Maybe it's because I'm used to taking classes with different instructors in other cities before moving back here - I've taken Vinyasa Flow, Power Yoga, and Flex and Flow classes where the instructors cued the moves and provide instruction on how form should be while IN the poses. I've also taken restorative yoga as well as Yin and meditative yoga classes that were a much slower pace, but I never felt like I was just waiting for the next move. I'm accustomed to yoga classes being more "fluid" and I just felt like the constant start/stop made me frustrated and that I was not utilizing my time well. The studio itself was nice - nothing fancy: wood floors with exposed brick walls. They provide props like blocks, bolsters and blankets. There isn't a restroom actually in the studio. You have to walk out the back and down a hallway to what I assume is a shared restroom for several businesses in the building. The demographic for the morning class was mostly Myself, I am 51, but have been pretty active most my life. women in their 50-60's and they were of all fitness levels. Everyone was friendly and it seemed like many of them were friends. Some go out for coffee after class. It seemed like the other attendees in the classes were content, so maybe I just have different expectations based on my past yoga experiences. One of the owners did reach out to me to see how I did with my free week. I shared most of what's on this feedback with her and she said if I was looking for Vinyasa Flow type classes, their studio definitely wasn't for me. If you're a beginner with practicing yoga this studio may be a good fit for you. If you're someone like me, who has been for and active and attend group exercises classes often, it may not be a good fit. This was just my experience.

Each teacher I've met has a special skill and gift that collectively makes this place good for those trying to heal emotionally, spiritually or physically. The room is always warm and once you start going your sweat doesn't stop! This was a full 1 hr hot hot yoga stretching, loosen those muscles! I didn't like that so many people were packed into the space. I sat near the wall and wasn't able to stretch my arms out left or right. I didn't like the fact that the instructor wasn't a part of the class, instead she was a walking live CD. She walks and talks and if you don't get the pose, look at your neighbor. There is also no waiting on you. Environment MAKE SURE TO GO EARLY to secure a piece of real estate! Because the space is so small, if you go earlier you get to check-in and pick a spot. I assume they start turning people away once it is packed! There is no online check in to book your spot. They should get online check in.. would suck for someone to go and then be turned away.... I went at 8AM, there was plenty parking outside since it was early. The studio is very very very small. The check in area is where you leave all your items, shoes, keys, phones (they lock the door once classes starts). There are also showers in the back room where you can shower off your sweat! Niceness The instructor was nice. She explained everything to me. I signed my waiver. For any of these poses, if it gets too difficult, you could always just sit in child's pose and join back when ready. You can pause yourself but not the instructor. The show much go on Dollar $ Relatively reasonable. They have drop in classes. All drop in classes are $10 per session. On Sunday it is $8. If you don't have a map, no problem. There are mats available for you to use BUT IT ISN'T FREE! The mats are $1 rental. The first class they give you a complimentary mat (yay!) Yes? Not for me. I don't like crowded place and also I don't like the fact that the instructor is just talking, she isn't helping anyone with the moves. If you don't know the pose, peek at your neighbor and hope they know what they are doing. (fingers crossed) #WendyWanders

She was very fast in her stretches and I as a beginner could not keep up or hold any of the poses she was instructing. Before you mention "she should have taken a Lowe class level" this class level was detailed as being for all levels. However I don't think it was for beginners or those who were not flexible. For that, I might try to come back as I get more flexible.
