I see that some from California liked this food. My bias is what we call Tex-Mex. Using that perspective this was the worst Mexican food I have eaten. The enchiladas were not baked with fillings but were really sort of soft tacos with no flavor. The guacamole seemed be puréed avocados that lacked texture or flavor. When I asked for salsa, I was given pico de gallo. My wife's burrito contained mostly rice. There was no spice, no peppers or flavoring. Previous ratings mentioned Margaritas, but they only serve beer and wine. We were told they were licensed for liquor? The prices were also too high. The rating would have been lower, but the quality of the ingredients were acceptable. read more

Great Mexican in Donegal?? Yes! Martin and his brother have brought their Mexican heritage to Ireland with delicious authentic food. To start us off, Martin brought a complimentary cup of hot soup since it was a chilly rainy night. We had a beer and margarita, tortilla soup, prawn tostada, a HUGE veggie empanada, beef fajitas, rice and homemade churros. What a meal. Do yourself a favor and have a meal at La Fiesta. It is in a courtyard so look for "Pedro" with his sombrero, he's a sign in the street in front of the courtyard. read more

Amazing find in Donegal Town. Authentic Mexican food (my Missus is from Mexico and I grew up in TX). The lunch menu is partially Irish-ised but the dinner menu has even more authentic dishes and the flavours are outstanding. Great atmosphere, sensational food, excellent service. Immaculately clean. La Fiesta is nothing short of amazing! My husband and I were on a two week hiatus all over Ireland and this restaurant was by far THE BEST of all we experienced (mind you, we ate at high end restaurants and many pubs all over the country). Hernandez is the owner and also one of the chefs- great personality and makes you feel at home. It's exactly what we needed towards the end of our trip. Many places serve a lot of similar dishes and our tastes buds were in dire need of something flavorful! We had the chicken wings, burrito and quesadilla... all fantastic! So fantastic that we ate at La Fiesta both days that we were in Donegal. We did not get to meet the other chefs in the kitchen but kudos to them as well. My only regret is that they are not here in California! read more

Never thought I'd see this place as I strolled the streets. Being from California I haven't had any Mexican food in a few weeks and I was dying to have some. Well I found La Fiesta and couldn't of been happier I did. I enjoyed some salsa and a great chicken burrito. The staff was super friendly and the restaurant was absolutely stunning tucked back in and when you open the door it's just bright and full of life. Really enjoyed my meal! read more

I stopped here because I was tired of the fairly bland bar food I'd be having. La Fiesta did not disappoint! A little hard to find in the diamond (next to Apache Pizza) but cute and clean establishment. I ordered chips and dips, homemade, I loved all the dips BUT the guacamole. And then I had the beef tacos and they were awesome. Probably the best beef tacos I've ever had. This guy is from Mexico and brings that to Ireland. Mexican food in Ireland I thought no way. I was in Portrush and someone told me to try la fiesta in donegal. Margarita was good, the fresh sea bass served Vera Cruz on chorizo mashed potatoes I thought was excellent. Corn tortilla was fresh for the chicken tacos. Mexican rice could be spicer for my taste. I love Mexican food and have grown up on it on the west coast. I thought la fiesta was better than 75% of the Mexican restaurants in the states. Give it a try if you have spare time in donegal!! It may be the best Mexican restaurant in Ireland but I don't know how many Mexican restaurants are in Ireland! read more

Great authentic Mexican food. Service was outstanding and they really go out of their way to make sure you are taken care of. Environment is true to the culture with music and decor and really makes you feel like you are in another place. Would definitely recommend for a nice outing lunch or dinner! Good, authentic Mexican food in Donegal Town? Yes! My family and I know Mexican food. Living in Los Angeles and having a large extended Mexican family, we weren't expecting too much from La Fiesta, but we were pleasantly surprised. Without a doubt, the most authentic Mexican food in the county and probably in the country as a whole. The tacos, quesadillas and nachos were on point. The meat was fresh and well-seasoned. They also let us try their traditional Irish vegetable soup which was also very tasty. When we were leaving we met the owner, Martin, and we realized why the place was so good. He explained his background and it makes sense. If you haven't tried Mexican food or don't know what to order, do yourself a favor and head to La Fiesta. Ask for Martin. He'll set you straight on a path to the flavors of Mexico. read more
