My husband and I get massages at least once a month. We were in San Antonio and wanted to kill some time before we flew out from the airport. We found this place and we couldn't be more pleased it's five minutes away from the airport the place was clean. No frills. Hands down the best massage in San Antonio. Hubby and I have tried a lot of places and La's Experience Thai massage is the best. Hubby and I go for a 90 minute couples massage on average twice a month. We go together in a joint room as our "date" for the month. All the masseuses are very professional. I always see June and get the Thai combo; which is combo of Thai (walking and stretching on my back), Swedish and deep tissue. I discovered La Experience over 2 years ago when I first moved to San Antonio and was lucky enough to immediately discover it. It has always been the best Thai and deep tissue massage in town, I left a previous review, maybe two. I think they recently got a new cadre of massage therapists and I have been lucky enough to get treated by Ther. She's all about the original Thai massage with the spot releases, elbow pressure, walking all over my back, lazy yoga and stretching me in spite of me - but ever since i got a shoulder injury a few months ago (totally my doing during a trip) , she's also taken a very therapeutic approach that has absolutely saved me! I am going to an orthopedist and physical therapy and complementing with Ther's massages and she has been so patient listening to my shoulder and rotator cuff. She realized all on her own that my shoulder issue stemmed from a hurt neck nerve. She has made it her mission to get me to 100% and is even providing preventive care to my other shoulder because she knows it can be next if we don't act now. DO NOT COME HERE!!! I booked an appointment based on the reviews. Biggest mistake. I asked for La and was told she was not available but her sister was available. I arrived and was told lady was running late. 25 minutes later, still no "sister". I get up to ask and no explanation is given just she's coming. This starts to feel all wrong. I get ready to leave and suddenly someone says "oh she can help you." Someone brings a woman out of room. I learned later that she is massaging someone else in another room. The girl who welcomed me comes out from the back and is so rude to me. I ask for her name, it's Dee she says. I start to explain what happened and she says, you were 15 minutes late. Excellent massage! The wife and I were looking for an impromptu 1hr massage during our anniversary weekend while staying downtown. We called around, looking for last minute same-day openings....and couldn't find a thing. Finally I decided to google search 'Thai Massage San Antonio'...and sure enough we found La's! Not being from San Antonio, it was a bit of a rolling of the dice...but we are glad we did. If you want one of those expensive 'day spa' experiences that cost $150 and only give you a 50 min, then go elsewhere. If you are just looking for a great 1 hour Thai/Swedish massage, then this is a great place. The location outside might make you wonder what you are getting into, but it's very clean inside...and just as nice as any other strip-center massage place I've been to. Rates are very reasonable for what you are getting (about $60/hour for each of us). And the massage was easily as good as anything I've gotten for $30-40 more! About a 15 minute drive from Downtown/Riverwalk, but definitely worth it! We will definitely be back when we visit San Antonio again! read more
