Our sauce cooking class was one of the highlights of our week in Paris. There were 8 of us in the class - all with different skill levels. The Chef handled the skill levels well with humor and advice. We thoroughly enjoyed learning to make 8 basic sauces and then the techniques to vary the sauce, We. especially loved the red wine and shallot sauce. At the end of the class we enjoyed sampling all of the sauces. They offer all kinds of cooking classes. I would highly recommend this experience.

I partook in one tour and three cooking Classes. Best Personal Enrichment Days EVER! If you are American I highly recommend Tours because you will be overwhelmed in Paris. My first activity with La Cuisine was The Chocolate and Pastry Tour. Fantastic! The Tour was in Marais. Our tour guide Chef Sego, she taught us the history of the area and about the windows that remain, very sobering. She explained MOF Meilleur Ouvrier de France, and what that means when you see that. If you are a foodie and really want to know how the keys work to unlocking the secrets of true Yumminess in France tours are a MUST! She teachers one of The Baguette classes and explained to us what a Baguette is, and how to buy a baguette, it's not like just walking in and grabbing a loaf. I took the 3 hour Baguette class with Chef Eline. Excellent! I also purchased the online tutorial. The other two classes were French desserts and Technical Tarts, also Excellent Classes taught by women Chefs. These three classes and the one tour have enriched my palette and expertise. When I come back to France I plan on returning and taking the same classes again. Flour Salt and Sugar can make Mouth Art but you will need to practice and to study, this is great place to get a broad view if you know nothing and if you know it all, you have a real Chef to learn from and speak with. The instructor here are Chefs, schooled in their Profession. You will not walk out in 3 hours an accomplished Pastry Baguette Chef but you will know where the keys go to start the machine, you will be on your way. They provide Tyvek aprons, my own apron insisted upon coming, she wanted a trip to Paris. Everybody is really personable, very interactive if you need assistance. They also have a monthly Newsletter! Cannot recommend enough! Everyone is fluent in English.

Enjoyed the class overall and made some good pastry but be warned that the classes are a bit misleading and you don't find out the full info until you get to class. I was very surprised by the plastic aprons too... very flimsy and we had to write our names on them with a sharpie lol. Very informative as far as the steps it took to actually make croissants when we are really ready to make them. This is because croissants actually take 6 hours to make but the class is only 3 hours long. You are told this when you arrive at class. So you basically have pre-made dough from another class and you make dough for the next class. You learn the steps of making the croissants and given a recipe on how to make the from scratch at home. You do make croissants but it's the quick way not the complete way. We also learned to make dough and other pastries. Everything was delicious regardless.

I really enjoyed the 3 hour long croissant class. There was not much information online on what the class will cover but I decided to book anyways. I am a more experienced baker and feared that the class might be more at a beginner level. We were 8 students in total and Audrey, our instructor, was able to dedicate her attention on the beginner, intermediate, and advanced bakers in our class. I learned a lot, got great tips, and had opportunity to ask all of my burning questions. We made croissants, pain au chocolat, pain suisse, pain au raisins, and cinnamon buns from the scraps. I absolutely understand that we handled dough from the previous class as croissant making is a multi day process if you want great flavor. It's about the technique, learning how to make and handle the dough and encase the butter. And, I don't care about the quality of the apron as mentioned in multiple reviews here. It's about making puff pastry and delicious baked goods from scratch and not the apron!

Eline was INCREDIBLE! She was patient, thorough, funny and knowledgeable. Our macaron class made me feel like I can go home and make my own with no trouble. Many thanks, Eline!!!!

Chef Diane gave an informative and educational market tour while we selected food. And the class of 8 was fun and delicious.

I took the Croissant Making Class and it was unfortunately a disappointment. The instructor was nice, informative and entertaining, but my review is based on how the end product tasted. We made croissants, pain au chocolats and pain au raisins. I feel like I learned some good techniques, but was not impressed with the taste of the food. Apparently, making croissants is a 6 hour process, but the class is only 3 hours. The dough we made will be used for a class on another day AND the croissants we made were from dough from another class. If I had known that, I probably wouldn't have taken the class because I had no control over whether the person who made the dough used good hygiene practices.

My daughter and I took a croissant class here for her 21st Birthday. It was amazing. The instructor spoke English and provided us with wonderful tips for shopping around the local area. Where to find the best teas, chocolate, etc. We reminisce often about this experience and discuss returning to Paris to take more classes.

    Chef in the farmer's market

I just returned from a trip to Paris and, while I was there, I can say the best time and the best food I had was in La Cuisine's Market class. We started at the Farmer's Market where our Chef taught us about the different types of fish, cheese, meats and vegetables available to the Parisians. He also told us so much about French culture, in regards to food, and why Parisians eat out a a lot. As he described it, in a city full of chefs why not let the experts prepare your meal? We made two meat dishes - fish and duck. I choose the duck which was called Magret de Canard. Words cannot describe how delicious the duck and the sauce was. And the preparation was so simple. I felt so confident that I could prepare this dish that, upon returning home to LA, I easily found this cut of meat at Surfas and rushed home to cook it again. The school, the chef and the other employees (Sophie) took great care of all the students. When we returned from the market we were greeted with water and coffee. The meal was served with wine and fresh bread. And the kitchen was large with plenty of tools to create all the dishes. I would recommend this school to anyone visiting Paris. And I will definitely return on my next trip!

Unfortunately, LCB does not cater to beginners, despite their claims that no experience is required. That simply isn't true!! Classes moved at a relentless pace, leaving little room for actual instruction! Instead of focusing on techniques, we were always rushed and then told what we did wrong. This led to injuries, mistakes, and a lot of unnecessary frustration. If you're new to cooking, this environment is more overwhelming than educational. It became clear that LCB is designed for those who want to work in high-pressure restaurant kitchens. But in my class of 16, only four students had that goal (and most classes had this same ratio). The rest of us were there to learn for personal enrichment, to open a restaurant/ café one day, or to explore culinary arts more deeply. Unfortunately, the program doesn't seem to acknowledge or support those paths. My disappointment isn't with the instructors--(shout out to Chef Caals, Chef Yann, and Chef Hoel), who were excellent given the constraints they were under. The issue lies in the LCB system itself! The program feels more like a factory line (taking your money) than a school, pushing students through their machine, rather than investing in their growth! For the cost and prestige, I expected much more. Le Cordon Bleu needs to rethink how it supports students who are genuinely there to learn, not just to survive the next service rush.

April 11, Montmartre Pastry and Chocolate Food Tour, Paris…read more Our family of four with a son 9 and daughter 10 did a pastry and chocolate tour through Montmartre and it ended up being a really fun way to explore the area. Arrival and First Impressions The group was small, just our family and another family, which worked out well. The shops we visited were tiny so taking turns going in and out was part of the experience. Our guide was knowledgeable and walked us through side streets, small parks, and local spots we would never have found on our own. The Highlights We stopped at six different locations including chocolatiers, bakeries, and pastry shops. Highlights included a choux pastry, crepes, madeleines, artisan eclairs, and multiple chocolate tastings. The final stop for hot chocolate and macarons was excellent. The macarons were so good we ended up buying some to bring home. The tour was not just about food. We saw the Love Wall, hidden streets, and learned about the history of Montmartre including small details about the neighborhood that made it feel more personal. The Challenges The guide did not have a very loud voice so in a bigger group it might have been harder to follow, but with our small group it worked fine. Would We Return Yes, especially to try a different tour. It was a great mix of food and exploring. Final Thoughts This tour is a great way to experience Montmartre beyond just walking around. The combination of food, history, and hidden locations made it a memorable and worthwhile experience.

Perhaps this is because they are based in Cyprus, which I assume they have chosen precisely to evade regulations.
