We wanted to do something that felt a bit more COVID-friendly for my sons's birthday, so we opted for cupcakes instead of cake. I hadn't planned much in advance, so I depended on buying whatever they had available. When I arrived they had: raspberry, lemon, vanilla, chocolate, red velvet and strawberry. We got all but strawberry and then brought it to the event. First, they looked terrific, but most importantly, the taste was great. The cake part of the cupcakes did their job, but icing is what defines and makes (or breaks) a good cupcake. If there was a downside, the icing is clearly such good quality and made from real cream as it started to melt as we had it outside (but shaded) for about 45 minutes before service. No fault on their end of course, and just speaks to the higher quality. They really nailed having it just sweet enough without being too sweet, and with all the intended flavours coming out and being the star. For example, the lemon was apparent and had to have been made with real lemon rather than entirely on an extract. I suspect the same about the raspberries - or at the very least they have a more natural mix for it as well. My wife said the red velvet was the best she'd ever had. We served about 10 people and everyone raved about them and many asked for the company info. You pay a little more than other places, but the value is worth it at the first bite. They also do other items such as macaroons, cookies and cakes. I'm not sure whether they have ready-made cakes as I didn't see any when I visited, but from their website they make some pretty gorgeous, IG-worthy ones. So probably order in advance for those.

The prices have gone up a bit, but definitely still very reasonable. Reminder that this is a cash only business. They are still just as popular as ever, every time we come, they quickly have a line up of 4-8 ppl. Still an easy recommendation for snacks/house gift/breakfast pastries/breads.

More than half the store space is devoted as a Portuguese goods grocery store, so the amount of baked goods is somewhat limited. But you know what, when the baked goods you do offer are selling at prices that would still be at a deal 20 years ago, you shoot up in ratings. Take a guess how much they charge for the fresh, jumbo-sized sugar donuts...50 cents! Think it's just cheap since it's a sugar donut? Well for the premium price of 75 cents you can get chocolate dipped, jelly-filled and others. Even apple turnovers and chocolate-filled croissants are just 75 cents too. There's a few other items and of course they're cranking out Portuguese buns like they're feeding the entire neighbourhood - which they might just be doing. And don't just think you're only getting inexpensive baked goods. Perhaps they may not be at the level of the highest "Boulangerie" downtown, but the quality is still fantastic. You are still getting quality alongside value. Honestly, the pricing doesn't even make sense, but bless all the staff and ownership of this place for doing what they do. Oh, and they're super-friendly too.

Came across this place on ubereats and gave it a shot based on the reviews that are here. While i didn't get to try any of the treats personally the recipient was complimentary of the freshness & flavours! they also mentioned how well the box was packaged. Definitely made their day, which made my day easier!

As soon as you enter, you will see all the cute and delicious looking desserts they offer like macarons, cookies, mini donuts, and macaron ice cream sandwiches. The three of us chose the $30 high tea menu for today. I ordered the Sloan heavenly cream tea which was definitely heavenly and creamy. My friends got the peaches and cream and jasmine pink lemonade tea's. Everyone enjoyed their chosen tea. When the savoury and sweet stand came out, we all had to take photos first since the camera eats first ;). All the food that we had were delicious! I think it's the best out of the other high tea places I've been to. We finished off by having the desserts which were disappointing compared to the food. The pink macaron I had was overly sweet and the shell was dense. I also didn't like the mini donut as it was overly sweet. My friends tried the truffles and it didn't seem like they really liked it. Overall, the experience, atmosphere, and food were great! Dessert was not that great. We didn't buy any desserts at the front of the shop so not sure if they would be good or overly sweet like the ones in the high tea menu.
