This place is ideal for celebrating anything or getting away from the "typical restaurant" food while savoring the flavors of Morelia. They welcome you with shrimp consommé, courtesy of the house--excellent service from the staff. The establishment is large, clean, and has a cozy atmosphere. They also have outdoor tables. The food is spectacular, bursting with flavors and textures, and the portions on each plate are surprisingly satisfying (they may seem small at first glance, but they are pretty filling). Cool little spot in the center of town by the church. We stopped for lunch. Waiters were super friendly and attentive. Gave us their recommendations. Food and drinks were out quickly. The sopes were really good. And my favorite was the Chile Nogada. It was delicious. Food over all was good and drinks were yum. Conveniently located in the plaza and plenty of seating. read more

Not enough chips provided initially, but you can always ask for more. *Tacos De Canasta - I like the steak much more than the chicharrones. *esquites callejero - the corn was ok, almost tasted like lentils. *aguachile de rib eye - really good if you're looking for a nice kick and good steak. *gaoneras estilo de Ciudad de México - really delicious and cut like butter. This restaurant has been famous for a while, and I was so excited to try it again. This last experience disappointed me, sadly, a lot. When we arrived with my daughters this past Saturday they sat us in an completely empty area, the green room, which was good for us. Since there was absolutely no one there, I sat at the end of the table, very close to the next table, to be able to help one of my daughters . The waitress ordered me to move, (not asking me) to the other side of the table next to the wall, which was very uncomfortable because the space was limited due to the wall. I ask her to please let me stay there and if a client arrived I would move. She didn't want to and told me again to move to other side. It was her attitude and how she asked me knowing there were not clients coming to the place that bothered me. That was that, but the food was very bad too. I ordered chicken at it was very dry, hard to chew, and tasteless. One of my daughters ordered a pasta but change the cream sauce to tomato sauce. They charged us extra for that when they already had the tomato sauce made. I really wont go back to this restaurant again. Very disappointed. read more

I visited "Conspiración 1809" in Morelia, Michoacán, on Saturday, September 30th, at around 8:00 pm, and I must say it was a disappointing experience from start to finish. 1. Service: It took us a considerable amount of time to get noticed upon our arrival at the restaurant. No one attended to us until we both had to request service. 2. Food Quality: I ordered two dishes, one of which was the night's special, consisting of four "tacos de canasta." Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy the taste; they had a sour flavor, and I could only manage to finish two of them. Additionally, I ordered "esquite," a basic dish of corn with cheese and crema, which failed to impress. 3. Hygiene Concern: I was quite shocked when I witnessed a staff member behind the bar pouring wine back into a bottle that had been returned. This was done in plain sight of the customers, which raised concerns about hygiene and the quality of service. 4. Payment Experience: When the bill arrived, it was presented inside a closed box. We placed the money inside the box, but the waitress returned, opened the box in front of us, and checked the payment. This made us feel as though we were not trusted to provide the correct amount we were being charged. Moreover, after she returned with our change, she didn't offer a word of thanks or any form of appreciation. Her blank stare left us feeling unappreciated. Overall, the combination of poor service, disappointing food quality, and questionable hygiene practices, such as pouring wine back into a bottle, made for a terrible dining experience. I cannot recommend visiting this establishment. While in Morelia our family stopped at this super cute spot. Partially because I was oohing and ahhing the building and convicted the group to stop while I investigated. The place is in a beautiful + historical area. The weather was nice and our rather large group sat outside facing the plaza in front of the cathedral. There was 12 of us so I only have pics and reviews for the dishes of those sitting near me. First, we al started of with a seafood consomé which was very delicious but I'm biased I loooove all consomés! I added a little lemon and it was the best seafood taste and smell. I ordered a drink with mezcal "cuz when in Rome" or Morelia you should try mezcal... It was fantastic, ended up ordering two more. Mescal drinks are often very smokey, with a heavy aftertaste but not these drinks. I loved the fresh taste and mix of the mescal + maracuyá. For starters a tostada de atún fresco (fave) since I have fresh poke often and used to the taste but the delightful honey paired with it was a wonderful surprise. We also had esquites and chalupaitas that were good. Mole is my thing but I also wanted to corundas... so I tired both! The caldito/salsita the corundas come with is definitely another favorite, w corn, veggies and the best queso cotija (the kind tias always bring back from Mex because it is so good!). The mole was also amazing, with mole the rice comes on the side. The plátano macho was treat with great flavor. The rest of the family was also very satisfied with their food, nobody had any complaints and that says a lot! The service was also great, everyone was friendly and nice. We appreciated all the attentiveness to everyone, all 12 of us. Hopefully we can return soon. read more

The food here is above average and the ambiance elegant, but the level of service was extremely disappointing compared to many other fine dining restaurants we have patronized all over Mexico. Despite the usual army of waiters and busboys scurrying about, we waited and waited for our drink and food orders to be taken and dirty dishes to be cleared. We are not typical overbearing Americans, are used to life on "Mexican time." This place's reputation is exaggerated. read more

I do not recommend this place. The staff is incredibly rude. Also, if you're seated outside, you'll be asked for money multiple times from streetbeggars. It's a big city so it's to be expected. However, they'll come to you immediately after the other and even though the restaurant has a very nice indoor dining room, you won't be moved inside. read more

Great upscale dining experience in Morelia. The presentation was lovely and the portions were generous, while I would not go back for the entrees we ordered (they were excellent, however did not stand out enough for repeats), I would definitely come back to try other dishes. Something not to miss and worth coming back for are the drinks and concha dessert! The carjillo was the best we had all weekend and the concha/ nata/ ice cream combination was incredible and perfect for sharing at the end of the night. read more

Saturday night in Morelia, browsing in the shops along the edges of the Cathedral square we stopped here for a bite to eat and a drink. History buff's delight, people watching front row and music galore. The service was very conscientious and the menu fascinating with it's historic offerings. Our selections of tuna taco and ceviche were on the conservative side but my goodness were they delicious. The historical location led to further research and a greater appreciation of Morelia's rich culture and cuisine. read more

Amazing food. Our group tired so many different foods it's hard to rate them all. We tried the tostada de atún fresco it was delicious!!! The Uchepos de Nata to die for one of my favorite!!!! Espagueti en mole de la casa perfect item to try. Crema de ajos was perfect. Chile Michelena very different but Fabulous. The lemon tart and ate con queso !! Great place to try doubt you will have a hard time finding something you will love. Enjoy! read more
