I moved here from California -- land of thousands of Mexican restaurants -- and since coming to Washington I haven't been able to find anything that tastes truly authentic. Everything was bland, not enough cilantro, watery horchata... I was honestly about to give up.
Then I found La Condesa, the taco truck right next to the gas station on US‑101, caddy‑corner from Tractor Supply and right behind the Chevron.
This is the best Mexican food I've had in a LONG time. Their street tacos are incredible -- flavorful, fresh, and exactly what I've been missing. If you want cilantro added to your rice, they'll do it. Want a little cheese on the beans? They'll do that too. The food is fast, consistent, and tastes homemade.
Service isn't "friendly" in the chatty sense -- the woman taking orders is efficient and gets things done. Not rude, just focused. Honestly, with food this good and this fast, I'm fine with that.
Prices are very reasonable. The Taco Plate #9 with steak, beans, and rice is only $13.99, and it's fantastic.
I'm done searching. I found my spot. read more
