Stayed in romance suite. They have a porter to help with bags. However, if you choose to take your own bags, all stairs to the third floor. The room was quite spacious and decorated quite nicely. Small balcony overlooking the roof of the restaurant but able to see the water through the palms. Had to hunt down a service cart to take more toilet paper and towels since my service request wasn't completed after being gone half the day. Our first night, while using the hair dryer, the electrical outlet caught fire and started smoking. Called the front desk from my cellphone because the hotel phone in the room did not function. All the phones were out. Apparently only the front desk phone works. They offered a new hair dryer. Which I had to re-state the outlet was on fire. Maintenance came 20 to 30 minutes later, looked at the outlet, took the hair dryer and said they would change the outlet the next day and they never did. Never got another hair dryer either. The pool area is fine. Lots of kids there so we only got in once. Beach area is quite nice and the outside bar and beach attendants are very responsive and attentive. Parking is quite limited at times. Hotel shares beach space with a condominium, but they kinda regulate the beach space for resort guest versus the residents. Water is fairly smooth but water shoes would be recommended as there are rocks in the water. Snorkeling is decent. you will see fish but don't expect a lot. Onsite high end dining from Seaside restaurant. Great place. Spent about 170 for two. Shared a salad and entree and had two non-alocohlic specialty drinks. Worth the price to be away from the city. 20 minutes from popular beaches.

I would love to give this place a five because I really like it and I 've only been here one day. I plan to stay for three more. My husband and I came here to celebrate 30 years together. The place is lovely, people are super nice and breakfast was delicious this morning. However, the place needs a little upkeep inside the rooms. I'm adding pictures. The view is gorgeous but the bed is just not as clean as I was expecting. The bed urgently needs new bedding. Something more inviting that looks cleaner. The bathroom is decent but not as clean as it should be. The decoration touches are there but a full body mirror would be a great addition. I always need one! In general, the place is nice but see the pictures and you'll understand my disappointment.

Overprice and gave us half a banana! Not worth to eat restaurant from the hotel. Go out to eat than here!

Wow, very slow service from the waiter who treated us degrade human because we spoken a different language and impaired hearings but didn't speak English nor Espanol and didn't bother to check us or explain to us what's include breakfast we have tickets to option which meal or drink. He is just quick to put fruits on the plates on us of 3 families and one coffee on me without sugar & butter/jam for toasts. The waiter more takes care of other customers and focus than us which unacceptable for us. Yes, we slept here 2 times and found same SLOW service and new bad experience for us from waiter treated us lousy this morning. This hotel didn't realize how to value customers to be happy, if not then we will not come back here ever again. PS. FUTURE customers, this restaurant from hotel absolutely extreme slow service. Wow.. Even they gave me half banana with hot oatmeal and for our daughter this morning than describe from the menu- it did not mention "HALF BANANA" Most menu lists a bit overpriced for small amounts. Oh one more thing is when we came here to check in last night.. Its same old slow service when we were here 2 years ago. Wow, not improve at all. I should write this 2 years ago. So I did it now. Hey Owner, please improve this for us and other valued customers. Thank you.

The place is nice and comfortable but the service is not good. Even for towels you gotta go get them at the lobby??? Like really..... Anyways I don't know if this is a thing that this place does but when you come from a trip and they tell you you need to come downstairs and get your towels then that becomes an inconvenience specially when your tired from a long trip. Even paper toilet!!!! Short on staff..... not our problem Specially when is a big hotel.

Bad television for 7 days other room was same thing

give this a 1 star hotel I have been here many years ago and it's depressing to see it go to crap not worth a vacation rather stay in a Airbnb. Examples with pictures *I would like to say food is good but there business practice for example my wife ordered huevos ranchos they gave her runny eggs horrible they did not ask her what kind of eggs she wanted they stated that they would charge her again to get the right order will never get my business again they state she would be charged for the right plate that's crazy! This is bad service and business practice .... *pools were disgusting I dipped me feet In the pool I regret it *The air conditional was loud most of the time *Television was awful the picture on every channel was something wrong with it * the key to our room stopped working three times we had to change it the the battery died and they had to let us in annually which was all fine Pools the hotel room and tv. And air-conditioned is what vacations are about bad business practice This is bad service and business practice .... Prior to our arrival, we accepted the hotel's offer to pick us up at the airport. The cost was 380 pesos. The hotel manager, (yes the manager), ALEXIA, arrived on time and was professional and friendly. We arrived at the hotel in the evening, and our room was ready. This boutique hotel's location on the Malecon is perfect. In addition, the hotel's entrance is really nice with a boho chic vibe. Our room, Unit 1, was about 900 square feet with two bedrooms, one bathroom, a living room, dining room, and kitchen. This room did not have a view of the ocean (we booked late in the game). Upon first entering the room, it looked really nice; also decorated in a boho chic vibe. There are a lot of steps inside this room. For example, the living area is sunken from the entrance and the kitchen is sunken from the living room. The same thing occurs upstairs to the bedrooms and bathroom. People with mobility issues or children might want to consider other hotel options. Regarding the condition of the unit, it was good. The kitchen was fully outfitted for cooking, and the appliances were in new condition. We did have an issue with the safe, as it was not secured to the wall. It appeared it had been pulled away from the wall for some reason because the holes in the wall were visible. We reported the issue, and they secured the safe the following day. We also had an issue with hot water in the shower and sink. It was somewhat hit or miss; not a huge issue for us. WIFI in the room interacting with the smart TV was troublesome at times. There is no pool at this hotel. In room massage services are available for $90 per hour. Regarding the service, it was fantastic (FIVE STARS). In addition to picking us up at the airport, ALEXIA helped arrange excursions including a beach tour and sand boarding adventure for a really great price. In addition to ALEXIA, all of the staff members were friendly and professional including FRIEDA, CONCEPCION, and PRICILLA. Overall, we had a great experience at Casa Al Mar with only a coupe of minor room issues; one of which we reported, and they handled it right away. Booking in advance for a balcony room with an ocean view is recommended.

We enjoyed several meals at hotel restaurant Barco and drinks at Puerto at the beach club. We also enjoyed chatting with other guests who were also smiling. We enjoyed gorgeous sunsets. Swimming in the warm waters of the Sea of Cortez. Native birds visiting. The hotel staff helped us arrange a private tour to Isla Espiritu Santos - most magical place. Memories to last a lifetime. This review is for the Malecon H Blue Hotel. I would give negative stars if I could. This hotel is…read morenot finished and NOT SAFE. Room keys regularly fail for doors and elevators. Hot water failure in many rooms, the flippant receptionist was argumentative about it being already fixed. Restaurant menu other than breakfast is flavorless, overpriced, takes over 90 minutes to prepare, and kitchen staff are not ready to work at times. There is a sliding door main entrance with faulty sensors. It banged into my mother's arm as she tried to enter the hotel, bruising her badly. It also hit my grandson's head. If you have little kids, elderly folks, are differently abled, this double set of quick-closing glass doors is hazardous. I saw several guests get hit by it daily on my 5 day stay. There is an open landfill full of hazardous materials from the ongoing construction of this unfinished building right on the side of the building! This includes rusty iron rebar, twisted metal, splintery scrap lumber strewn about in huge piles, cinderblocks, huge concrete tubes... in a big giant pit, open and accessible right by the parking lot. It occupies the whole side of the building, also ruining the ocean view from the rooms. There are no safety barriers marking this area, so keep your kiddos away from that! Shower doors are not installed properly. One guest in our party had the glass shower door fall on his head, shatter, and cut open his foot. ...And this is the worst part; the staff lied and covered it up. The hotel receptionist was first on the scene to give 1st aid. She claimed the laceration from the shattered glass shower door was nothing, and did not need stitches. It ended up needing 6 sutures. Our group was in shock, but we were rushed off to a SMALLER room so they could clean up the shattered glass and spilled blood and claim it never happened. Then the manager got a personal friend ("doctor"). This loser took over 2 hours to arrive (the manager who called him said we should have gone to the hospital after he called his buddy). The doctor's examination for concussion symptoms was a 2 second glance for alertness... that's it! This patient later went home and was treated for a concussion which was never entered on the hotel "doctor's" eval. -the "doctor" gave his foot a shot of anesthesia, then realized he did not have the right supplies in his bag to give the stitches, so they had to go to the hospital. He did say the patient shouldn't walk for a week, which the hotel manager denied. When we demanded a solution, they gave us an insurance form and a promise for reimbursement to get us to leave. After a week of speaking to their Mexican insurance company, and Expedia... there is no solution in sight. Sneaky, deceptive, bad people running a dangerous place. DO NOT STAY HERE!

I booked 4 superior rooms. My nephew was in the shower when the glass door collapsed hitting him on the head and causing concussion and laceration to his foot. The staff downplayed the incident saying he was ok and that they would have their doctor come and treat him. Meanwhile they rushed to clean the evidence. The receptionist Joanna, gave first aid saying that he didn't need stitches as he was no longer bleeding, but he was. Two hours later the Dr showed up, same story, nothing wrong he'll be ok but he does need stitches and he won't be able to work for 1 week. He injected the anesthetic but had to drive him to a nearby clinic because he had no tools to stitch him up. This happened Thursday night 3/26. They were downsized to another room because "They didn't have any other rooms". It's Sunday 3/29 and still no incident report from the manager Ruben and no doctor note or assessment has been received. This experience has been a nightmare to say the least! I asked for a refund for that room and the manager said that in any case I would have to pay them for the damaged door!!! What a terrible thing to say! Very dismissive, they hung up on me when I asked for the doctors note, and very unpleasant experience. Would never stay there again!
