Really not impressed by this park. There's no good lot or street to park in. I street parked and had to walk in quite a distance to reach the playground area. The parking along the street was almost completely unshaded.
The park has coverings over the play areas, but they are pretty ineffective. During the middle of the day, the sun can get quite harsh, which I never used to care about before I had a baby with soft sensitive skin. It gets really hot.
The little kid area has the bouncy springy ground (what is that called??) which is great because my 15 month old will sit in the wood chips and keep grabbing handfuls of tanbark to drop or toss in the air, and I know how horrid it was to get splinters on the playground. The little kid play structure (pictured) is so small, it's not worth the trouble of getting to it.
Not sure why they did tanbark for the big kids area if they were already doing the springy ground for the little kids area. I will sometimes take my crawler to the big kid play structures of a park when it's not too busy, because she loves climbing the stairs, but I did not today because 1) the sun was beaming down quite hard and there was basically no shade and 2) the damn tanbark.
Pretty sure I will not be returning to this park. read more
