Despite the good reviews on Google and Yelp, I was nervous to go, thinking about the tourist traps in Nice and the few bad reviews. Well, I'm here to say, this place was amazing. It was just what I wanted. Although I made reservations, it was not busy so I simply sat down. Ordered the Nicoise ravioli and cod with mussels and aioli. My husband loved the ravioli and my dish, man was I pleased. The mussels were literally some of the best above ever had. They were small and sweet and certainly not frozen. Ate aioli was also so delicious and my meal overall was so satisfying and delicious. One of the best I've had in my few short days in France. I also feel its important to mention the waiter, who was so calm and kind. I can't recommend this place

There appeared to be some outdoor seating as well in the street too. The server also seems to cook there, as he had an adorable little chefs hat. He was also helpful in explaining the different items on the menu too. I had the set menu, of which there are choices within three categories. For starter I had a seafood soup, which seemed to be from a stew of all sorts, principally mussel, but a little bit intense for my taste. The entrée was a nice little lasagna with a Nicois flavoured twist. The ice cream here can be chosen from several different flavours, it's not the best, but alright for what it is. Overall I'd recommend this place if you're feeling a bit indecisive about what to have like I was.

It rained a little bit, but the patio was tented and had extendable flaps as well, so it was perfect. The food was great, and it was also reasonably priced. My girlfriend and I each had a meat entrée coupled with an appetizer, and we split a side and a dessert. We also had a couple drinks, but our combined bill was under $80 which was awesome considering the quality of the food. Additionally, we kind of stumbled onto this place because few other places were open the Sunday night before L'Assomption. This place was open, and it worked out great. So, if you're looking for a place with good food that doesn't break the bank and is open at off hours, I highly recommend coming here! Happily, Clayton Cohn

Let me start by saying I did NOT have the bouillabaisse as everyone has suggested. It's a lot of food and as a solo diner, it didn't make sense. I did, however, have one of their suggested menus. The starter was and egg florette sitting in a truffle and black caviar concoction. It was fantastic tasting. I assumed moving forward with the rest of the meal that it would continue. I was completely wrong. Round 2 (the main) was grilled scallops in port wine and veggies on the side with a seafood mixed rice. The rice tasted good, but was lukewarm, the veggies and the scallops tasted frozen. The veggies were overcooked and the scallops undercooked. For dessert, I chose the ice cream instead of cake. The thing was sitting in a pool of rum, though was told it was a "hint". If you go here, maybe order what everyone else suggests instead of the other stuff. Clearly they do that one item well.

There was one other couple there; Americans like us. Also no reservations. Within ten minutes the place nearly filled up with groups having reservations. Table for twelve was a patriarch and his kids their spouses and the grands. A table for six seemed to be a local football club. All locals. Others showed up over the following hour we were there, all apparently locals as well. I preferred their pain bagnat over what I typically pick up on the plage at Juan Les Pins (but the wife was the other way around). The courgette beignets were memorable and even the mesclun was special. Points for a simple ambiance and great non-intrusive staff. Looking forward to going to try more of the menu.

The staff was off... very very off .. I have received better service at the overly touristy places ... we ordered a bottle of champagne to start with , the first glass was poured and the bottle was taken away .. once we finished the glass , we were sitting with EMPTY glasses for at least 15 -20 min! Having the bottle next to us , we would pour the champagne ourselves, however the bottle was nowhere to be found. So was the staff .. Restaurant at this point was empty , there was one more couple on the balcony. It seemed as we had 3-4 people serving our table but none had the clue what the other did. Had to ask for our bottle and the server had no idea we even ordered one and went searching for it. This experience repeated ... so strange. Ask me which dish was memorable - I could not tell you.. looking back at the photos - everything was fine , but not great and not worth the price we paid at the end , and definitely not worth all the praises. The view is nice, of course , but the place next to it seemed more fun with the same view really. Disappointed!

While in Nice for work, some colleagues of mine and I were able to secure a last-minute reservation with gorgeous views overlooking the water. We each chose the coursed meal for 88euro that didn't disappoint! Each dish was carefully presented in a masterfully creative way that almost made me feel guilty for 'destroying' it. But, I'm glad I did! The starter was Pressé of foie gras scented with fig, beetroot millefeuille and port & fig coulis, with pickles. The main was the fresh catch of the day with zucchini and crusty flower, caramelized onion and ginger. The dessert was Lemon and red berries - Grenache scented with lime, red berries clafoutis, bergamote orange sorbet, crumble and fresh fruit Each dish was delightful and delicious to the palette, stand alone or when paired with wine. I highly recommend La Réserve if I'm Nice, France. You won't be disappointed!

There were plenty of restaurants on Rue Halevy, but this place was really the only one that I saw with onion soup - which I was craving. Service was wonderful - - very friendly to us, and efficient. A bit chilly outside, so we dined inside -- and only one other table on a winter Wednesday night. So again, great attention from the service. As someone else had mentioned, there is a 23 EUR menu option - - but that would have been too much food for us. The onion soup was served in a extra wide bowl, so the heat wasn't consistent throughout; and the cheese was was gooing dripping over the side of the crock as my mind always thinks of onion soup. The flavor was good, just not earth-shattering. I'd probably rate 3.5 stars, due to the service.
