[ENGLISH] One of the best place for a chilling brunch in Paris! We were looking for a brunch place closed to Canal St Martin with my friends and we chose this one. The place is not really big but feels very confy like being in your "Grannie"'s living room! I love the antique decoration. The waiter was friendly and careful of our needs. We chose the brunch formula for 23.00 Euros with : one hot drink (tea for me), a fresh juice (lemonade for me), a part of quiche with salad, some soup, soft-boiled egg, ham and cheese and then a dessert (crumble for me). And also on the side some butter, a choice of original marmelades and a basket of different kind of breads. It was delicious, everything is homemade, very fullfill and the quantity was perfect for the price we paid! This is my new favorite spot in Paris! I mean, any place that is located in Paris but has the zen vibe, cool decor and loungy feel of a café in Brooklyn has got my number big time. The people who work here are adorable and friendly, the coffee is great, the space is loaded with cool decorative elements that I want to recreate chez moi, including the fab wallpaper, the single bookshelf to display nick-nacks, the Aesop soap dispenser, the vintage cushions -- it's all super tasteful, intelligently done and big time cozy. Simple concept. Service was charmingly lacking. They forgot to bring me a plate or a knife for my bread and butter, but I made do with my spoon! Their long coffee is nice and has free refills I believe. There is some outdoor seating for 2's and lots of small comunal tables inside. Nice place, would come back for a simple breakfast. La Chambre aux Oiseaux is a great place to lunch if you happen to be near the 19th arrondissement or Canal Saint-Martin in Paris. The interior is super cosy: granny-chic is the best term to describe it, I think. We went for a chai latte, "Le Club" and a "Belle Salade". Totally tasty! The service was good too. Our waitress was friendly and correct. I was really intrigued by the indie music that was playing and she told me it was Half Moon Run. (Google it!) Overall a very nice place. read more

It is small and noisy (the coffee machines make really loud noises like in Starbucks), but the atmosphere is kind of ok. I am surprised to see that in this non-touristy area of town their menu contains a few items in English, and their toilet is marked by the English words "Water Closet." This whimsical tea salon is the kind of place which makes you want to snuggle up on of the sofas and read for hours. The feminine touches and shabby-chic interior give it an instant homely feel. The wallpaper designed by William Morrison is just one of the details which adds to its charm. The drinks menu consisted of freshly made smoothies, home-made lemonade and freshly squeezed juices as well as your standard hot drinks. Every one of the drinks sounded divine, often including a more unusual element such as lavender or other herbs which make for a much more unique and interesting menu. I've been looking forward to going to this place ever since I saw it was opening/was related to Sesame just across the canal. I finally went yesterday, hoping to settle myself somewhere to get some reading done and have lunch. Alas it was packed (it was noon, so what should I have expected?). So I took a place at one of the two tables outside. The server was really busy (she seemed to be the only one serving the whole room!), but after a bit of waiting she noticed me and was incredibly smiley and polite. I got a big delicious salad "La Belle Salade" that had spinach, kumquats, dried white grapes and these two absolutely phenomenal little pan-fried, turkey/spice-filled brioches. I really cannot describe them, but the flavor combination was amazing and the citrus matched so well and was so refreshing. I wanted to stick around for dessert (they have all kinds of homemade baked goods--cupcakes, breads, cookies, muffins, cakes....) but it had started raining, and since I was outside I quickly got the bill and a cup of coffee to go. They have cafe filtre on the menu, pretty expensive at 3 euros, but I'm always looking for good "American-style" coffee in Paris that doesn't come from Starbucks. The coffee was strong and rich (which I like) and tasted like they used some actual real fresh beans instead of the nasty crap you usually get served in Paris. We went here upon our arrival in Paris because there weren't many other options on a Sunday in this neighbourhood (Canal St-Martin, 10ième arrondissement). We only wanted wine but the server advised that we had to order food so we selected the charcuterie and cheese plate which came with bread (€6). Many of the tables around us were ordering tea, sandwiches and pastries which left the impression that this is more a café than a restaurant. On that basis, I imagine that breakfast or lunch here might be a very pleasant experience. Seating options are indoor and outdoor tables and banquettes. Service was fine. I loved this adorable cafe right next to Canal St. Martin! I came on a weekend for their breakfast a la campagne - a hot drink (I had jasmine tea), fresh bread and their homemade jams (peach and apple on the time I visited), & a cheese/charcuterie plate for 9.50 euros. Came here for afternoon tea after strolling around the haut Marais and Canal Saint Martin. A very cute little cafe with delicious baked goods. I had tea and my friend had the lemonade which was very fresh but had a lot of ginger in it which was good hit definitely different. We both had the spe s'il cake of the day which was heavenly! We were headed to try Ten Belles. After arriving it wasn't much more than a coffee shop with scones. Looking for a bit more food we found La Chambre aux Oiseaux. There was a short wait when we arrived, which went very fast. We ordered breakfast brunch special, that included soft boiled egg, salad, wrap of the day, orange juice, coffee, bread basket and dessert. The entire meal was perfect! This review could have been very different if: I had seated inside, I hadn't got brunch. We sat outside because it was full inside and it's too bad because it's super lovely. It's the perfect place when you don't have a country house but want to convince yourself you have one. The brunch was OK but nothing special, it's exactly the kind of dishes you could easily make at home, two salad leaves, orange juice (one orange probably), a little bit of cheese, bread who went stale... I might change my mind when I get a Salade du jour or something else, because the other dishes looked tasty. Also, a big plus was how friendly the waitresses were, that's unusual in this kind of trendy places. Our favorite local in the canal district for breakfast. Good coffee and excellent breads and jams. The toasted nut bread is especially tasty. My wife loved the Rhubarb jam so much she bought some from them to take home. The place is very friendly and relaxed - an eclectic collection of chairs and decorations (there is an empty bird cage, maybe the only suggestion of the oiseaux that were once there (?) The staff are all very welcoming and attentive. And if you're up to a large quantity of delicious cheese and charcuterie for brunch as well, than have at it! read more

Perfect early spring day lunch location. A lot of good places in this area so it was hard to choose. Excellent salads du jour! Today was mango, chicken, pineapple, sesame, fresh ginger and carrots.
