We are staying at the Hilton and this is located in the resort. The atmosphere is nothing special. The service was good. We ordered a few bottles of wine off of their extensive wine list, before finding one they actually had. I was so excited they had escargot on the menu, but it was extremely salty. Absolutely unbelievably great food in Ponce, PR. You won't find salt and pepper on the table because you dont need it- every bite of food is seasoned perfectly. Reasonably priced, out of this world flavor. Even the vegetarian option I had last night was amazing. We celebrated our anniversary and they brought us a beautiful piece of cake. I loved the other desserts as well, including the soufflé and the bread pudding which were delicious. The steaks were cooked to perfection and seasoned very well. Too little for too much. Service was painfully slow. The Fall Salad was good and the presentation was well done once the food finally did come out. Unfortunately, the Seared Snapper and Halibut were both over-priced and lacked flavor. We were told it was a formal dining experience, so we dressed for the occasion only to find many guests were dining in casual attire to include cut-off shorts and bathing suit tops. We're staying at Ponce Hilton. We decided to eat at LA Cava inside the hotel. I had the eggplant dinner with a side of mamposteao rice and gandules. Truly is at the top of my favorite meals list. We ordered fresh tostones. Veronica provided wonderful service and suggested the menu items for us because we are mostly vegetarians. My wife ordered the cheese ravioli, which she liked. The ambiance of the restaurant was upscale but also inviting. We finished the meal with the guava souffle and ice cream. The whole meal from start to finish was wonderful. read more

This is a beautiful restaurant. That was the beginning and the end of our good experience. While the staff was very cordial and our experience was not the fault of our server we waited over an hour for our meal. 1st of 4 meals arrived undercooked. 2nd of 4 meals was served cold and not as ordered. 3 rd of the 4 meals was served with the side we had ordered to share on their plate. The 4th meal was okay. The two that had to be sent back came out okay, but rather than a new entre being created one of plates was reheated. (That's never happened for us before.) I always prefer to give a good review and while this is an excellent location and well decorated, next time we're at Ponce Hilton we will make a different choice. The food was somewhat disappointing, nothing bad just nothing great that we had. The service was slow, the atmosphere and the restaurant was nice. Nothing spectacular. I think it was a little overpriced for what it was. We chose to eat off property or at one of the other restaurants remainder of our time at the Hilton Ponce. read more

The food was excellent but the service was slow. Very reasonably priced for the quality of the food.

The restaurant is located within the Ponce Hilton, so the prices are a little higher for the quality of food you get at an independent restaurant, but overall we had a good experience here. The ambience is dark and romantic, but if you go early they are child-friendly and offer a good kids menu selection. We ordered the red snapper, which was lightly crusted and came with a slightly-too-sweet sauce, and the duck with foie gras sauce. Both were good, but not spectacular. The waiter recommended a good, reasonably priced Pinot that wasn't on the menu, which went very well with both the duck and snapper. All in all a festive experience, and though pricey, not unreasonably so. read more

Arrived at Hilton around 10 pm and rushed over to La Cava for late dinner. It was late so decided to order several appetizers. -- Raw Oysters. Very fresh and tasty! I would definitely order again. I ate 8 (4 Blue Points and 4 Virginia Oysters) but could have ate a dozen more. -- Escargot. Another winner. It wasn't all shriveled up like at other places. It has great texture and the butter sauce was very well done. -- Beef Carpaccio. This is the reason why I only gave this place 3-stars. When the carpaccio came out, it just looked like something was off. I ate a few pieces and it tasted very bland. So I asked the waitress if I could get some cracked pepper. Then she asked if I wanted some olive oil and balsamic as well. Then I realized, that the kitchen didn't put anything on the beef except a bit of Parmesan. No salt, no pepper, no olive oil....skimpy on the Parmesan. I would definitely go back for the oysters and escargot. Definitely pass on the cappaccio or instruct the kitchen on what things to add in addition to cheese. read more
